Two for the Dough by Janet Evanovich Book Summary
It's Stephanie Plum, New Jersey's "fugitive apprehension" agent (aka bounty hunter), introduced to the world by Janet Evanovich in the award-winning novel One for the Money.
Now Stephanie's back, armed with attitude -- not to mention stun guns, defense sprays, killer flashlights, and her trusty .38, Stephanie is after a new bail jumper, Kenny Mancuso, a boy from Trenton's burg. He's fresh out of the army, suspiciously wealthy, and he's just shot his best friend.
With her bounty hunter pal Ranger stepping in occasionally to advise her, Stephanie staggers kneedeep in corpses and caskets as she traipses through back streets, dark alleys, and funeral parlors.
And nobody knows funeral parlors better than Stephanie's irrepressible Grandma Mazur, a lady whose favorite pastime is grabbing a front-row seat at a neighborhood wake. So Stephanie uses Grandma as a cover to follow leads, but loses control when Grandma warms to the action, packing a cool pistol. Much to the family's chagrin, Stephanie and Granny may soon have the elusive Kenny in their sights.
Fast-talking, slow-handed vice cop Joe Morelli joins in the case, since the prey happens to be his young cousin. And if the assignment calls for an automobile stakeout for two with the woman who puts his libido in overdrive, Morelli's not one to object.
Low on expertise but learning fast, high on resilience, and despite the help she gets from friends and relatives, Stephanie eventually must face the danger alone when embalmed body parts begin to arrive on her doorstep and she's targeted for a nasty death by the most loathsome adversary she's ever encountered. Another case like this and she'll be a real pro.

Two for the Dough. This is a great book enjoyed reading from the first chapter. I have to keep reading moving on to number three. Worth while reading.
Early Characters. I actually read Janet's later Stephanie Plum books before reading one and two. It seems that the earlier books were building the characters. Still an entertaining read.
Two For the Dough. First rate dialog! Humorous styling of characters with great lines! Would make a terrific screenplay just as written. Cute plot, nicely developed.

Two for the Dough. PLEASE do a TV series - it would be so fantastic. Please do not put Debbie Reynolds as Grandma as you did in One for the Money. Bette White would be much much better. Can't wait to down load the next book.
Better than the first. I laughed more and was more engaged in this book than the first of the series. Loved it.
Two for the Dough. Easy, fun read! I needed a comedy and light book and this was perfect. Had some really funny parts that make you laugh out loud.
Not as good as one 4 the money. This book started off well but slowed down considerably. I just finished reading one 4 the money and I fell in love with that book. I decided 2 read the whole series but I'm reconsidering that choice now as this book wasn't that great. I did love the Grandma Mazur character however, she was a real hoot!! And I also liked the chemistry between Stephanie and Morelli. :)
Two for the Money. Old folks rule! At least, in Plum's world they do. Grandma Mazur saves the day in more ways than one. She keeps the plot moving with unintended humor and serendipity. Pure Plum!
4 Stars. This was a little slow but had laughs and a solid ending. People obviously seem to love Evanovich and I get it. Plum and Morelli are good and Grandma was a hoot. I’ll come back for more. I’m sure she must get better at the whole bounty hunter thing.
2 for the dough. I liked it alot! Would Morelli and Stephanie be done with it already!
One For The Dough. I haven't laughed so much reading a book in a long time. Your books are great. Your characters and story lines are hilarious. Keep up the good work. I love to read all kinds of books and I don't know why I haven't read any of your books until now, but I'm glad I did. So thank you, it has been my pleasure doing so now.
Funny and light. I love the wit and humor of the Stephanie Plum series! Light reading but at times laugh out loud funny!

Two for the Dough. I just recently read "One for the Money" and thought it was very funny, so of course I purchased book number two. I thought this book was pretty predictable and kept waiting for it to get better. Everyone seems to love this series of books so I'll give number three a chance and hope for a funnier story line.

Great series.... But too expensive!! You can buy the soft cover for $8 in stores. Wouldn't pay $30 for a digital version.
