An awesome exercise in critical thinking. This book is by far one of the best books you can read. Thomas Sowells use of of the facts is astounding. What is even more astounding however is how he weaves the facts together to present a picture that is cohesive. The chapter on 'The Real History of Slavery' was worth the price of this book several times over. The biggest value I think you get from this book is not the data points or statistics, but its assistance in helping you look at the world with a fuller view of life. Not just looking at isolated instances, but trying to take in the full picture.
