Amazing!. I love this book! It's amazing how so many people don't know about this, I never did either and Tatiana De Rosnay did an incredible job of bringing two stories together. I would recommend this book to any and everyone.

Heart wrenching. This book had me in tears. It really showed the effects the past has on us. A beautifully sad story.

Loved it!. An awesome read!

A wonderful Moving Story. This is a beautiful and moving story about the 1942 Paris roundups and deportations, of the Jewish. Told in alternating voices between Sarah a 10 year old Jewish girl who’s family has been rounded up for deport ion and that of Julia, who comes across the story and wants to bring it back to life so the tragedy is remembered. Sarah locks her brother in a cabinet before the roundup and promises she will return. Meanwhile, Julia is assigned a writing piece about the anniversary of the Vél' d'Hiv' roundups. The past and the present sync up beautifully. And while some readers have noted that Julia’s motives are selfish, I don’t see it that way. Why would she not want to write about an individual story that has touched her dearly. Clearly, this is not the brightest moment in our human history and by remembering tragedies of the past we can, hopefully, not relive them again in the future. I enjoyed the history, the story and the heroic actions of every day people.

Great book.. This was a fantastic book about real life. Fiction or not this happened in out society from the mid thirties to the mid forties. For the people who say it's poorly written or predictable, take a step back and look at your life. This book should have opened your eyes on how pig headed people can be. It was amazingly told by two beautiful people and how their lives connect.

Sarah's Key. I really liked the book. It kept my interest and I learned a lot. However, the ending was so disappointing! She had a great story going but then just quit! She needed to write more of an ending.

Amazing and Inspiring. This book was a wonderful creation of a story put into words. When I was reading it I felt like I was actually there watching the story unfold. The reason I gave it only four stars is because the ending was terrible, it could have ended almost any other way, but it had to end with an idiotic cliffhanger. Other than the end it is a must read book.

Sarahs key. I am 13 years old reading this book, it was amazing. This story was very touching. This is a type of book I will never forget. Definitely get it. I recommend this book to be for an solder audience, but if you think you can handle it get the book!

Sarah's Key. Very disappointed...after spending 9.99 on This book...many chapters were missing. I don't even know how it ended. Chapters started missing around pages 443. I guess from now on I will buy books from the bookstore and not on My ipad.

Captivating. This is one of my favorite books! I could not get enough of it. I had no idea about Paris in that time; I even researched more after reading this. So intriguing and such a beautiful story.

It's a great movie!!!. I have never read the book for Sarah's Key, but I saw the movie. It was a very sad situation, but I liked the fact that it was set up to look as if it were apart of history. (I'm not sure if what happened in the movie was real or not), but I could honestly see how it could have happened.

Ehh. No character development. I tried to connect with the characters but I couldn't. The only part of the book I liked was from Sarah's perspective which seemed to stop halfway through the book. I had to force myself to read the remaining half of the book

Sarah's Key. No matter what kind of books you enjoy this book will make you cry but will inspire you beyond beleif. You won't be dissapointed. Wonderful book of love and courage. Don't waste your time on the movie though.

Love it. This is by far the best book I have ever read.

Annoying character. I read this after readiing cutting for stone which was a huge mistake. The charcter Julia was so obsessed with sarah and finding her that she missed out on all the wonderful things happening around her. Everything was meaningless unless the sarah issue was solved. I dont know whether the author meant julias character to be annoying, but her obsession about the past totally ruined her present and future.

Poorly written. This book was very disappointing for me. It is poorly written, flat, predictable, and entirely unrealistic from the dialogue to the events. Save your money and skip this book.

Zakhor. Al Tichkah - Remember. Never Forget. **Book Club Read** 4.5 Stars I actually really enjoyed this book. It was really sad, but powerful. I was pulled in from the start. Sarah's story really touched me and i loved how everyone was connected. This is a really emotional story but definitely worth the read. Such a sad time in history. Zakhor. Al Tichkah - Remember. Wow!. Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay is, without a doubt, the best book that I have ever read.

Amazing. What an amazing book this is. It's heartbreaking, but a must read!! Julia is my hero!!

So disappointed. I always enjoy reading about this time period and bought this book after reading (and loving) Lilac Girls. While the historical aspect was interesting, the majority of the time was spent in the present with Julia, who I absolutely could not stand. Her story was boring and predictable and I just didn't find her character to be believable. Would've enjoyed the book much more if the focus had been on Sarah. Really don't get how this book has so many positive reviews.

Great story amazingly written!. One of the best books I've read in a long long time!! I'm not an avid reader but I could not put this book down! You do have to have an interest in the events of the holocaust, however

Sarah's Key. Awesome book filled with tons of history about the Holocaust. I caught myself holding my breath during the parts about Sarah and her family. Truly a great book and easy read.

Sarah's Key. It was a great way to know about what happened in Paris 1942, I never heard about that before. Unfortunately, the author finished the book too soon (half the book), what comes later is expected. But what I enjoy the most from the book was the ability of the author to write it in 2 different moments of the time in parallel.

Blah!. Started off intense, captivating and thought provoking. Ended leaving me feeling entirely unsatisfied. This would have been a much better story without Julia's story and voice. I believe Sarah's story was plenty, Julia's voice just added an unnecessary and confusing element.

Unbelievable story. I was so deep into this book from beginning to end. I even watched the movie. It gave me a sense of appreciation about my life. It switch back and forth between present and past. I just felt so sad for Sarah. It was like the key to her heart and her life. She blame herself for his death. Definitely read it

Interesting story. It’s a good book and an interesting story. At times it was moving and emotional and I am grateful to the author for bringing this sad and tragic period of French history to light. The story takes us back to the beginning of WWII, to the rounding up of jewish families and children in the velodrome, which came to be know as Vel’d’Hiv. It also connects it to the present times and the lives of the French/American family that came face to face with the past. Remembering is a way of honoring the victims.

Amazing story. Never knew about what had happened in Paris.i was so hooked on this book I couldn't put it down for even a sec.i was constantly wondering what was going to happen next.i loved how the author had to parts going at the same time.it had made the story more interesting.when I had start getting into the Lil girl's part it would switch to the women n then I would want to read through what happened with the women to get to the Lil girl n vise versa.it was just such an incredible and interesting story.ive noticed they had made a movie, haven't seen it yet but I doubt it will b as interesting as this book was. <3 this book

I love historical fiction!. I do love historical fiction and this read was a good combination of factual 'history' and realistic 'fiction'. The writing could have been a bit more complex, but I enjoyed the simplicity of the story and the creative connection between 1940's & current day. Thought provoking & a good reminder of a tragic time in history.

One thread left hanging.... Excellent in every way. My one question... Why didn't the author correlate the executions and the act of abortion? It deserved at least some kinship. The attitude of the father and uncaring society could have been explored...

It’s about time.... I had been meaning to read this book for a few years, after having seen the movie. I saw the movie many years ago and didn’t remember a lot of it until I started to read the book. It started to come back to me. I’m in awe. I thought the book was amazing. I read it in less than six hours. And obviously I loved it. Riveting, great fiction!

Amazing <3. This book was a page turner. I couldn't put it down once I started it. I didn't think I would like a book about world war 2 but I was greatly surpassed. Sarah's Key is unique and a great read for anyone. I wished the book wouldn't have ended where it do though.

Wanting more. An excellent first half falls apart some in the second Act. While always excited to read Sarah's perspective I found 3/4 through the book I was no longer interested in Julie's perspective. I think there are holes in the piece that, if filled, could have made this a 5star effort. I thumbed through the last few chapters as they were obvious and trite after the complexity of the first Act. I was very interested in the history of the French Deportation of children and am grateful to have read the piece for the history it brings to light.

Loved it!. One of the best books I've read to date. A real eye opener...will stay with you forever. A must read!

Sarah’s key. I never get enough of her writings, I can’t stop reading, I forget to eat, forget my errands or my chores. Nothing matters but reading her stories.

Horrible. Cruel and shallow. Its intent seems to be on shocking the reader and wrenching out an emotional response. This is NOT why I read Holocaust books. And as a mother of a young boy (and an avid reader as well, if those exist?) I found it went way over the top in its almost-traumatizing provision of tasteless detail. Most people who prefer reading to watching TV already possess good imaginations. This book went somewhere completely unnecessary. Instead of leaving me with a deeper understanding of the Holocaust, it left me with a feeling of "how could you do that?"
