It's very interesting. I like the fact that this book doesn't fully follow the CW tv series story line. I like that it has the same essence and the for the most part the same characters. it wouldn't be interesting if it was predictable.

I never realized the tv show was after these books. I couldn't believe my eyes when I found out the books were written so many years before the tv show!!! I just wish the show followed the books more closely

Too much fantasy. I watched the series and was excited to read the books, however this is too much fantasy for me. Vampires who can turn into animals and fog, it’s a little much for my taste. It does reiterate Elena’s need to protect those she cares about though, which was beautiful.
