A truly enjoyable read.. This book is highly accessible, well written, and mindful of the average reader's level of familiarity with the subject, I'd recommend this for anyone with a general interest in the life and accomplishments of Alexander the Great, but would suggest further reading if it sparks some interest.

Book. It was a pretty good book

Simple but well done. This is a simple, but well done version of Alexander the Great's life. Some of the phrasing may seem odd to us today, but at the time of the authors writing, it was very well said.

Great subject, authors writing style didn't agree with me. As a prolific reader Greek/Roman history and mythology, I must say I wanted so desperately to like this book. The authors writing style simply did not agree with me as the sentences were often I'll-structured and simply didn't roll off the page. Some may enjoy but it just wasn't for me 😔

#VanLife Murders. Just got this for a summer beach reading. I have found it had put down. You can see it could be a future movie, base on a real traveling author who developed her book as a fictional mystery taking place in sites being visited going up the Pacific Coast in camping RV.

Great Book. It felt like I was reliving history as I read it. I just wanted to mention there is a period missing on page 524. It's indicated by the capital T without a period before it. Mr. Abbot did a great job retelling Alexander's story, with vivid detail so you felt like you were really there.

Not well written. Poorly written book. I've read many books on Alexander the Great and this was the least informative one I've read. The author dedicated many pages of this book to his own opinions of Alexander and much less to the actual facts and exploits of Alexander. Would not read again.

Good read. Fine book.

Captivating. I think that word sums this up the best. I couldn't put it down. Conveniently placed on my iPhone I was reading at every opportunity. There were at times words which required looking up to gain the full understanding but that's just me. I'm sure a more intelligent audience could avoid those sorts of delays?! Good read.

Fantastic story. A great read, fore-tells Alexander's story from beginning to end.

Enlightening and informative. As a 17 year old interested in ancient history, I was looking for a boom which would give me a general overview of the life of Alexander and this book does this and more. It delves into his successes and also points out the greatness and flaws of his character, adding a new dimension to the story. Abbott also evaluates many of his stories which is helpful, and his detailed writings give a very interesting, liberating and "un-put-downable" account of the life of Alexander. A great read for all those interested in history.

Mr loves history. A good book but somewhat I doubt certain events as recorded by historians.

Macedonian. Good book to read nice and easy with a few little inside story's of a legends lifetime.

Alexander the Great. A gripping account of Alexander's life and Exploits.

Why is the word Greek mentioned. There was no such nation called Greek back then. It is like saying the australians in B.C. times. To say Ancient Greece is a made up terminology. There is also no ancient artifact thy says Greece (Hellas) why would that be?

Great. A really good book! I like the way the author explains various bits and pieces that the soldiers used in their battles and also the mentalities of the soldiers and their collective view of Alexandra!
