MIDNIGHT MARRIAGE. it’s the only book that gives me undulated satisfaction This book is unique. I can go to any section and be happy with it. It’s a cleverly written.

Midnight marriage. I liked the book except the parts where most of the male characters continue to snuff white powder continuously. (as that was Cocaine it implies that they were all drugged out all the time ...this totally turned me off because it totally implies that is is ok and socially acceptable to be drugged up all the time 'cause they did it back then so it must also be ok now. Who wants to go through life killing off brain cells and becoming truly stupid in time with no dignity or self worth? It totally contradicts the "regality" of the time for me and dulled my enjoyment of the book.

Georgian Romance. I have been a fan of Georgette Heyer since 1970, and if my guess is correct, so has the author. Having suffered through reading many aspiring writers in this genre I can say with enthusiasm that this writer reaches in the right direction. The attention to detail is remarkable without being obtrusive, and that the details are correct is a delight. I ask myself about the size and depth of thw writers library, and I sincerely hope to meet her at one of the many conventions I attend. I will most definitely be reading her other titles, and I truly hope she maintains this level... And kudos to editors who don't fiddle unnecesarily!

Would not recommend. I liked the idea of the book but the characters' moods and thoughts didn't make sense. Something was off throughout the whole book. It felt unfinished. Too much going on. I liked the idea but was sorely disappointed.

Excellent Writing!. Kudos to Ms. Brant for writing another wonderful story about the Roxton family. Intriguing plot, excellent characterization, historical excellence! I'm on to book 3. I read a host of historical romance writers' works. After reading two of Ms. Brant's novels, she is now one of my favorites. Thank you!

Good book. Enjoyed reading it.

Poor flow , glad it was free. The first couple pages held my interest but the opening chapter totally lost me as it was immersed in too many characters. I did not like the flow or structure. I found myself thinking if Jude Deveraux could take the beginning plot we would have had a great story, The author just needs more training.

Midnight marriage. Great read and engaging sequel to first book in Roxton series. I've read both now back to back in a week! Can't wait to read next book in series.

Review. The book had a good storyline and I was excited to read it. However, it could use a better set up of the characters. The book was too long for the content and would have been better with fewer pages. The story began to drag on and I couldn’t wait to get to the end. I almost quit reading the book several times, but after reading so many pages, I wanted to see how it ended. The constant reminder the the snuff box was repulsive. Throughout the book it makes constant reference to whether the dialogue is being spoken in English or French. This really made no difference to the storyline and was a distraction. All that being said, it was a good story and I really did enjoy the ending. With some editing this could be an amazing book!

Great book!. This book was very unique from all of my other previous historical romance readings. At first I fell in love with it, but I realized that I was just a quarter into the reading and knew more was to come. About half ways through I stopped reading and thought I was done, this wasn’t the outcome I was looking for, but nevertheless I continued later and fell back in love with the story line. Of course it ends on a good note, so I recommend it for those that are looking for a perfect ending as well as a less than perfect journey.

Long but awesome.. Took a bit to get going but once it did I didn't want to put it down! Enjoyed it thoroughly and will have to check out more by this author.

A great experience. II was instantly drawn to a he characters. Some twists and turns. At the end of book is a link , to the making the cover page. Seeing them as a couple made me more appreciate of their story, will read again. Wish link was in front to get a more clear pic of them. I stayed up all night to read. Well worth it, In my humble opinion.

Frustrating read. The characters were not developed enough to pull this good plot off. This could have been a really good book, but it just wasn't in-depth enough to make it flow to best advantage.

Wonderful!. Some of the best writing, and most interesting characters, I've come across in a long time. Having read so much bad prose in stories, I struggled with habit, to slow down and enjoy the fullness of the story. Every scene, character and event are rich in detail. Anticipate reading more from L. Brant!

Why is everyone awful?. Hard to get into since no one takes a moment to be truthful and flat out say what they mean. A hot mess.

Great read. Really enjoyed this book, couldn't put it down. Enjoyed how the characters panned out and the story line was unusual. Even read the follow up.

Takes a while. Gosh it took so long to get going and it was as though u didn’t realise what was happening till it was happening. When it did get going it was good.

Fantastic. After Salt Bride, I was very much keen to read more from the same writer and I certainly wasn't disappointed . She has such a way with words and unraveling the story that I was completely swept away in the book. I love the style - the wit and the humor and the romance.

Midnight Marriage. Brant, Lucinda Midnight Marriage 4/10 Deb is drugged with laudanum and married stage 12. 8 years later she unknowingly meets her “husband”, a Duke’s heir, who sets out to see if she could fall in love with him if she didn’t know his lineage. The storyline has so many terrible flaws. The characters behaviours and reactions are also unbelievable. Pity.

Another great read!. Loved this book; like Lucinda Brant's others it has a really good mix of romance, humor, adventure, and story twists. Was unsure of the whole "I forgot I was married" premise but the notes at the end explain how it was inspired by real events. Cool! Reread it and it's really clever how she makes it work. Like her other books this is highly recommended.

Shockingly good romance.. 12 years old! Really! What a magnificent piece of storytelling, flowing to the expected ending despite the character's best efforts.

5 star historical romance. A real page turner with love, laughter and adventure. Hero and heroine have depth and emotional intensity. You are swept along on their journey towards a happily ever after. Brant gives you enough back story carrots to make you want to read the story of Julian's parents in Noble Satyr but Midnight Marriage can be read as a stand alone romance. The historical detail does not overwhelm and you feel as if you are back in 18th century Bath and Paris. Thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended.

Highly recommended. I'm not often a regency romance reader ... But this grabbed my attention. It will be one of my classics I return to.... I fell into the stories and the characters.... Though it's often said - I couldn't put it down and read it in one session unable to leave their world until the book was resolved. I can't recommend it highly enough... Deep gratitude for a fantastic book... :)
