Things starts looking up, though, when tall, dark, and handsome Gabriel Angeloscuro agrees to rent the empty apartment in Maddy’s building. It’s probably just a coincidence that as soon as he moves in, demons appear on the front lawn. But when an unholy monster is unleashed upon the streets of Chicago, Maddy discovers powers she never knew she possessed. Powers linked to a family legacy of tarnished halos.

Black Wings. Well written, but it gets pretty hokey by the last third of the book. Not bad, but not going on my alerts.
My Review. Loved this book!! Couldn't put it down till the end,I read this whole book in 1 week!

Worth an afternoon read. While Black Wings will not overwhelm you, it is a good book worth an afternoon read.

Love. I absolutely love this series
Great first novel!. Action packed, fast paced, and witty. This is a great start to a new series. Christina Henry is one to watch.
Pass on this title. I found Maddy to be a somewhat under developed character. She seems to be quite juvenile for someone who lost her mother at 13, saddled with the responsibilities of being an agent, and with no companionship excluding her gargoyle. She was not a believable 32 year old. The plot matured at a fast pace, with novel checking in around 200 pages. I felt that the novel should have been fleshed out to further develop Maddy's character, gabriel's character - really every character. The story advanced at a too rapid pace, cheapening it's value and failed to conclude to any degree of satisfaction.
