Loved loved loved. Not my fave, and it took a while for me to really get into it, but once that ball was rollin I couldn't stop. I love the relationship between manny and payne. I was kinda hoping the would go through with the ancestor transgression and then manny would hopefully be turned, but it's ok. Can't wait for the next, I'm gonna have to read it slowly because I'm so anxious for Lover at Last to come out in march 2013!

Incredible story/series!!!!. I can not put these books down! I love the way the characters are all interwoven together. Just finished "unleashed". Will start the next one tomorrow! Best series ever!!!

Not enough but good. The story was good but it was not enough. I felt rushed in the reading and it went too fast and did not have enough substance. There is more that needs to be explained and should have finished with Payne and Manny's story. It should have been longer and complete. I feel cheated with this book. Leave Quhinn's and Blay's story for another book. But I liked it. Just wish she finished their story better.

Lover Unleashed. I have been reading this series since the beginning and I must say that I was highly disappointed. I missed all the other brothers in this book and the original way Ward use to write. I'm sorry but I'm not a fan of homosexuals and if I wanted to read trash like that I would specifically look for it. Hoping Ward gets back to the traditional ways of romance....of course as traditional as writing about vampires can be. Please bring back the sexy steamy romance between male and female!!!!!

Just amazing. I loved this book

Great story but full of type problems. Have read everyone of Ward's books and several on my iPad but this one was full of words put together without a space in between and colons where periods should be. Do you think this is an e book issue or is the printed version just as bad. Makes enjoying a really good story hard with the distractions. I usually don't find typos in Ward's work so I am assuming technical issues. Still love the brothers though. It was great to have V come to terms with his issues and Jane. Love all the teases with Quinn and Vech.

Not her best. Well, it wasn't riddled with excitement. I hate to say it, but this wasn't Her best work...quite possibly the worst. It was a plain Jane romance novel. Where did all the action go? That's what really spiced it up! It was boring and incredibly repetitive and the main subject was more about Vishous and Jane than Payne. All in all... I'll read more of her books but I wont be expecting much.

Not my fav. Loved all the other books but V's whining in this one was really tedious and totally stole the thunder from Payne's story. Won't read this one again and won't recommend it either.

Not enough. Like many I feel like this was a rushed book. Which is a shame since it took a year to get it. There were a lot of stories going on and Payne took a backseat in the book that was suppose to be about her. V played a large role, which is understandable since they are twins, but his interactions seemed to have very little to due with getting to know the sister he never knew he had, and more to do with Jane and Butch. It is almost like Ward knew how much people where disappointed with the Jane and V story, and she tried to put them in Payne's book to change our minds. I still do not care for Jane the ghost.... I mean, really no matter how many love scenes you write between the two, it is still lame. I almost want to write Ward and tell her that it is okay if she let's a character die. I would have felt sorry for V, but it would have added to his character and drawn the reader into the pain that he supposedly carries. I also would have looked forward to what happens to him next. Instead now I have to read about my favorite brother with a lame a%% ghost. Overall the book was not bad, but far from her best. I hope next book makes me feel like I got my money out of it, and the time I waited for it was just, True?

Huh. Good book. I was drawn more to Jane and V's story than I was Payne and manny's. The big disappointment for me was where Qhuin and blay's story was left. I'm hoping maybe that will be the next book. All and all she does not disappoint!

J.R. - you're capable of more. Let's just state the obvious, this novel is filler. It isn't "bad" but compared to the previous two stories of Rhevenge and John Matthew, it misses the mark big time. That, and out of the brotherhood, Jane and Vishous are possibly the least interesting of all the couples so far. It's funny at moments, it's happy at others.... It does the typical novel thing and glosses over big combat and fast forwards to the aftermath. The thing is, the story doesn't really go very far. It does however introduce a few new characters to the mix, and I see the necessity for this vanilla story, as the end does truly set up for the next book to have a very large number of interesting possibilities. I was looking forward to more news about the boys. I found the side plot with the human police officers way more entertaining. I am also very saddened at the romance plot..... It's border lining on juvenile . This all wouldn't be so bad if there wasn't a 13 month cycle in between novels in the series now :-p Should you read this book? Yeah, if you're a fan of the series, skipping this will more than likely leave major plot holes. Is it as good as her other works? Nope, not even close..... I will say though, I hated V's book, barely made it through the novel. Here's to a better non-filler novel the next go round!!!!

Not Disappointed!. I simply love The Brotherhood! The characters are vivid and I feel like I know them! I need more!!!

Never a disappointment from the WARDEN!. Wow! What can I say? It was excellent! Twists and turns that still leave me wondering what's going to happen next after 9 books! Genius!

Another Great. Second time reading this one and it’s just as good as the first. Payne is a great character…wish she’d use her and Manny more. They are definitely more accents in later books. Intro of the BoB was great. This book sets up a lot for later ones but doesn’t feel like merely a transition. It’s a fully complete story. Love.

There were good parts and bad. I have enjoyed reading this series. It took me a month an a half to read all of them including the e-story of Z and Bella. I will agree with the other reviewers about Wards change in writing style. It really does seem to jump all over these last few books. I really hope she can reign in her add tendencies with added characters and story lines. I would love for the next book, if there is one, to focus on some of the current characters stories and wrap them up. I also agree that this really wasn't about Payne and Manny, but more about V and his "family". I really enjoyed that tho. Vhishous is one of my favorites so I liked reading more about him and Jane. That really is the only reason I gave the book 4 stars. Well worth the read.

Lover Unleashed. Absolutely great. This one had me fooled. Didn't see where the Manny character was headed. Can't wait for the next one. Ignore the bad reviews, they don't know what they're talking about. Ward will get around to Blay, Quinn, Lassiter & others in the series, there's still lots of stories to be explored.

Newest. I have been a black dagger brotherhood fan for years and have converted many of readers!! I have lent out my copies of the books for longer than I've had then in my hands! Always trying to convert my friends..... The latest book was my first dissapointment.... I was grateful for the Payne story..... But completely pissed off for the way Quinn was left off..... Where normally I'm reAdy to pick up the next book.... At this time I have no urge and I'm pissed off with the ending...... Haven't decided, but am pretty sure I'm pissed off enough to be done with this series. Sadly.

Love It. I love love love this series. I read A LOT of paranormal romance and this is by far the best series! I loved that she continued with V and Jane's story because they have so many issue that were never touched in their book. Also, it seems a few reviews complain about Blay's and Quinn's story but I like that its not neat and simple. There's still a lot of growth that needs to happen before they find their HE. Just wish we didn't have to wait so long til the next book. : )

Ok. This is my favorite series. I love the characters, but this one really did not jive for me. It should have been V part 2. I really wanted to have Payne and Manny featured more. They were really just background characters in this book. This book kinda left me feeling cheated. Glad I read it, but probably won't read it again like the others.

I agree. This book was a little short and did seem a bit rushed. Payne and Manny didn't get as much of a story as everyone else did, there was so many other things going on at the same time with other characters, I liked the book...but do feel a bit cheated, especially because we have to wait so long for the next book! All in all though, I absolutely LOVE this series!! Highly recommend it to anyone!

Incredible. Completely Addictive!. I am totally addicted to the Black Dagger Brotherhood! The worst part of every book is the last page because I don't want the ride to end yet. I can't wait to start the next book. Watching Payne's journey to freedom was a joy. It was very nearly overshadowed by her twin's journey out of his own darkness. But JR Ward found the perfect balance as always. This series is absolutely a MUST READ for any fan of vampire romance.

loved it!!. i always love it when we get info on how the other couples are doing....thats a true plus!!! then the relationships between V and butch always intrigue me, that part was pretty crazy! really great book!!! can't wait for the next one like always!

Good, but..... Def. not my favorite in the series, but not bad. It's almost like a filler book, one that's building stories up for future books. I didn't really get into Payne and Manny, I found myself skimming a lot of their scenes to get to more interesting bits about the other brothers. Just my two cents. If your a fan of the BDB, it's a must read.

If you LOvE the series--get it. If you ENJOY this author--get it!. Before I bought this book, I read the reviews and some reviewers were a little disappointed and that concerned me. I shouldn't have been concerned. Seriously, if you love this series, this book continues the story and delivers! If you appreciate this author's wit and skill in keeping you interested, thrilled, nervous, hopeful, fearful, hot, delighted and surprised all while making you laugh, or get tearful then you will NOT be disappointed. I like that each of the books includes all of the characters in it. I don't believe it's a bad thing. If you love the Brotherhood you want to read about all of them and continue to know what's doing at that moment.

Awesomeness!!!. I love how carefree J.R. Ward's books are. The characters truly come alive in each of her books. The flow of each book leads right into the next in a never ending cycle of romance, thrill, and humor. Lover Unleashed just gives the readers a new mystery to think of and that it is not a bad thing. In fact it just makes me n other readers excited about who's story is next n what is going to happen with Xcor n the Lessers.

AMAZING AS ALWAYS!!!!. The WARRDEN never disappoints! This is an amazing book! I recommend this book along with all the other ones in te series!!!! Excited about the next one! Maybe Bly, Quinn, and the Chosen Layla?? Who knows but it will be GREAT!!!! BTW. Don't listen to the bad reviews. And for the ones who are having a problem with Bly and Quinn get over it, from the beginning when Bly and Quinn were introduced you all knew where that was heading and I you didnt like it then , well why continue reading the series?? I love all her books in this series and her other books too ! She is a talented writer and I cannot wait for her other ones to come out. I am always on edge to see what comes next!? But we will see! Keep up the spectacular writing Warrden!

Boring. This one was pretty boring. I’m rereading the series and barely got through this one. I really wish she’d write about the family connections that would have been so much more interesting. The drawn out “healing” went on for way to long.

That's what I said.. I truly enjoy JR Ward, and like many fans are vested to the BDB. I read the book in 4 days and enjoyed it. This is a staging book to set up the next ones to come so I can understand the criticisms but like many series especially lengthy ones a book like this is needed. Was it the best? Was it the worst? Is it worth the read? No, no, yes. I loved Ward after reading Lover Mine, and will continue to read her books. Let's just say my fantasy bank has not run empty since I started reading her amazing series. Kinda funny, twins named Vishous and Payne. Ironic considering the act of childbirth. Random but true.

The last part of the book. When I get to heaven: first I hope god grants me such freedoms. Wind in my hair, strength in body, heart singing and a beautiful beast to ride, To be physcially and mentally in accord with. What a dream! Over all I enjoyed the book, wish it did take so long between the releases tho. Helps to "keep" with the characters. Great job!! Keep em coming JR

Amazing!. This was an amazing book and this series shocks me everytime I read a new book. I’ve completed most of the novels and own majority of them too! It feels good to read everything and see where each character found their true love. Its truly so heartwarming to see how it all started, even though its fiction (maybe ;)). I absolutely adore each story and I am so ready for more.

Great read!. I love this novel, I have read it a few times now - one of my favourites in the series. Payne and Manny are great. I hope we get to more stories about Payne in the future.
