I loved it. Okay I admit the beginning was gruesome but the rest was just great!!! I can't wait to see the romance that plays between the shrike and rayne in book two!!!!!!!!

Memorizing. I love this series. I cannot stop reading them, seriously I have read all three at least 5 times this year, foregoing work duties just to finish a chapter or ten. I will admit there are probably some grammar issues, but I ignored them for the story is so captivating. That, in my opinion, is a true sign of a very talented writer. Cheers to you T.C. And hurry up drafting more of this series!

A good light read.. I story held my interest, and the plot was very entertaining. Not great literature, but for a Sunday on the porch in my rocking chair you could do a lot worse.

Not a bad story. I almost put it down but keep on going with it. Will purchase next in the series.

Romance sci-fi. The story of an adolescent girls romantic notions towards the Shrike, She frequently gets kidnapped and He frequently saves her again. The science is interesting but the adolescent romance is overplayed.

Good read. I really enjoyed this first book, can't wait to download the second!

Amazing. I've already read the queens blade series and fell in love with the author! So I started this book and couldn't put it down! I'm in love ;)

Slave Empire. A slow, tedious read. Nothing much happens to characters I didn't really believe or care about. The only vaguely interesting character (The Shrike) was only so by comparison to the flat cookie-cutter characters that otherwise populate this pointless tome. Save yourself some time and read something else.

Needs something more. It is a good enough story and although I enjoyed it, I felt two things were missing. Firstly, the characters Rawn and Tallyn were too flat. They need more complexity and depth to be believable. In addition to this I didn't feel Rayne - Shrike interactions were believable. Secondly, the universe in which this is set needs more work. The death of Earth lacked impact and wasn't well thought out. The Atlantean plans for the prophesy were vague.

Enjoyable. It was really quite enjoyable, and I'm about to buy the second part of the story. I do prefer a book to be longer, less than 300 pages is a bit irritating, I like a good, eight or nine hundred pages to get stuck into, but I'll tolerate it this time. It's hard to find good Science fiction books in the iBook store when they are all mixed up with the mountains of vampire and werewolf junk, and the iBooks limited search and filter system is a real pain, so I'm happy I came across this book. But I have to add that it is seriously bad for the reputation of an author to begin a book with that ridiculous paragraph about not sharing your books with others. Its always been the way that authors build up a reputation, people lending books to each other is what creates a following and then further purchases of other books for the author. I bought it, it's mine, and I'll do what I want with it, just as I would with a real physical copy. If its the publishers tarnishing the authors reputation with that rubbish, then it's about time authors dropped publishers entirely. Make your own website and sell directly from there. Do something, anything, there's always a way.

Slave empire. I found this a tad slow to start with however I still couldn't put it down! It really is a fantastic book and the author really does capture your imagination! I'm a fan of the queens blade series so I trusted the author enough to try this! Just downloaded the next 2 and I already know it's worth every penny. Defiantly recommend this and also the queens blade

Really enjoyable read. Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Have just read the 2nd volume, which is a must buy at £1.99, definitely worth it. Would recommend.

Blade was one of the best books I have had the pleasure to read and after 7 books i thought I had come to the END but how glad I was to be proved WRONG to go from blade to this is very easy I could not put it down another FIRST CLASS BOOK and I will look at. Great read. Great for a sci-fi fan, or someone looking for a good book to read. The book is very well thought out, it has surprises, it tells the characters story so well you feel yo know them and it will make you want to read the 2nd and 3rd edition to the series.

Intriguing. Couldn't put it down. Sometimes the descriptions of the space technology could be a bit boring, but I honestly didn't mid because the plot line is so fascinating.
