One heck of a story. Considering this book was written back in 2000, 13 years ago, it still fits snugly within the current 40k canon. I'm excited to start this series.

Great Novel. This is perhaps the greatest series ever released from the Black Library, and a must read for any 40000 fan.

Warhammer Done Right. The Gaunt's Ghosts series is fast-paced and perfectly gritty. They represent the Warhammer 40,000 world brilliantly, and with no shortage of brutal military action.

Pretty good. This book makes me appreciate the Imperial Guard, I have been a space marine guy but now I have also I started liking the Guard. Fun story, lots of action!

First time Warhammer reader. First Warhammer novel. Did not disappoint! The pacing is amazing, the plot was great! Loved it!! On to the next.

Tanith 1st, last, and always. Excellent start to an excellent series. For me this is the standard of scifi the way Lord of the Rings is for fantasy.

Great Read!. Dan Abnett has written an incredible amount of material for Black Library along with a great collection of comics. He has essentially set the stage for the 40K universe that is now considered canon for most readers. That being said I cannot recomend buying these books on iBooks. $12.00 for one storey when anyone could go to Amazon or Barnes & Noble and get the Omnibus which contains at least three to four novels for the series for less. Great novels just not worth the price being charged on iBooks

First and only. This book is truly amazing, the ghosts are masters of stelth and those experties are put to the test when they not only have to fight chaos, but another highly regarded regiment of the imperial Gaurd... You will want to keep reading, with men being killed by enemy and freinds alike, there comes a time when the ghosts have to finish the inter regiment feud, gaunt has to keep the regiment from coruption, but fight the war on chaos, ... Truly briliant, 5 stars!
