The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larsson Book Summary

#1 NATIONAL BESTSELLER • In this “thoroughly gripping” (New York Times) continuation of the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series, Lisbeth Salander lies in critical condition in a Swedish hospital, a bullet in her head. But she's fighting for her life in more ways than one: if and when she recovers, she'll stand trial for three murders. • Also known as the Millennium series

In the next installment of the Millennium series, with the help of Mikael Blomkvist, Salander will need to identify those in authority who have allowed the vulnerable, like herself, to suffer abuse and violence. And, on her own, she'll seek revenge—against the man who tried to kill her and against the corrupt government institutions that nearly destroyed her life.

Intrigue. This book doesn't even start out slow like many other books. It picks up right where the last one left off. The intrigue makes it hard to put the book down. And the action keeps your heart pounding. A must read!

Great Conclusion to this fantastic 3 book series.. Each book in this series builds on the story and the finale tome doesn't disappoint!

Worth Reading to The End. When you first open this book you will be thrown into a world of mystery, crime, and drama. The writer is extremely adept at introducing new characters with an insurmountable flare. Although there are times when it seems the newest character is of no concern to the overall story, Larsen effectively explains why they are integral to the overall outcome of the story. His explanation of the physical surroundings in the series makes it easy to follow the characters actions, even if having never stepped foot on Swedish soil. Lisbeth Salander is a character to be pitied, awed, hated, feared, and admired! RIP Mr. Larsen

The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. Good read, although a bit predictable. Kept me entertained throughout! Recommend the whole trilogy.

The Girl Who played With Fire. Captivating. Impossible to put down.

Clever twists. Even knowing it’s fiction I was still Intrigued by the processes of trial and journalism. Many characters trying to do the right thing in not always the right way. And I thought it added more to the book series with clever twists.

Fabulous book. This is a fascinating book of a fantastic series. I wish there were more books. These have been some of the best books I've read in a long time. It is so sad the author died. He was a gifted storyteller.

Better pay attention. The third book in the series does not disappoint. This complicated political thriller is just as good as the first two books, but you have to pay attention because the author introduces more characters into this chapter than the previous two combined.

Best Series I've Read So Far. Enjoyed every page from book one to three. A perfect fictional and improbable story to escape to. Sadly, I now have to accept the fact that the story is over. All good things must come to an end I suppose...

The girl who kicked the hornet's nest. Great read.

Great story. Much like the first book of this trilogy, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest has parts that are bogged down by the sheer number of characters as well as the complicated nature of the story. Larsson does an incredible job in maintaining consistency throughout this, however, and the reader is rewarded in the end for sticking through it. My only other complaint is that he seems to repeat the narrative too much. Given the fact that this book so closely follows the second in the trilogy, he should be willing to assume a bit more knowledge on the reader's part. Otherwise an awesome end to a great series. If you enjoyed the first two, don't think twice about picking up this one.

Hooked. I have not sat and read a book cover to cover in over 15years, yet after seeing the American movie version of the first of this series I have read the series of books like a addict. I can honestly say that I never realized how much better a book could be than a movie. I have laughed at people many times who said " you think the movie was good, you should have read the book" at 35 years old I am happy to have found a new and enjoyable hobby. I wish there was more from Steig Larson! I think I may try my luck on the Alex cross series next. I will admit that for me seeing the movie first gave me a clear way to identify the characters and connect with series.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Trilogy. All three books are exciting, well written and impossible to put down. The Girl Who Plays With Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest are actually part one and two of the same story in which neither book stands alone. All three are excellent and well worth the read.

The End. This was a great way to end the saga of poor Lisbeth.. Good triumphs over evil, and all seems well with the world.. Would definitely recommend all three books to anyone. Cheers and happy reading..

READ THIS SERIES. These books have been the best series I have read-EVER. Very descriptive: doesn't leave the reader confused about anything. Yes, some may say it " drags" or gets "dry" but that is his story telling: slow paced with plenty of cliff hangers and little mysteries to keep you reading until the end. loveloveloved this book as much as the other two, and to anyone who hasn't read these yet...I feel bad for you:)

Page turner. Good book, keeps you engaged.

The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest. Not as good as the first two because Lizbeth is not featured as much.

Amazing.. My heart broke after finishing this trilogy. It ended perfectly, but I wish it never got to an end... These are some of the finest works of fiction I've encountered and I've been given enough info. from the legendary Mr. Larsson to construct a few of many possibilities that could be in store for Ms. Salander and Mr. Blomkvist. Beautifully done.

Great trilogy!. Read them all, very entertaining. Plus, you'll want to go visit Sweden after you get done.

Only could get better. Couldn't believe they kept it going through all three of the stories! Epic books!!

Thrilling and Captivating. Thrilling from the first sentence of the first book, and Larson did a great job at the end, which too often seems not to be the case. Couldn’t put these down!

Liked first two, but this was disappointment.. Obviously, I liked the first part of the series or I wouldn't have read the third book. This one was mostly unexciting, predictable, and filled with mountains of endless detail and characters that had little or nothing to do with the story.

<3. Loved all of the books! They were hard to get through at first, but worth it in the end.

Great Read. While not as good as the first two books in the series, this book is still great. It gets a little slow & confusing with all the names. I would definitely recommend reading the series of three books.

The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest. A novel you can't put down. Great finish to the trilogy. Read them all!

Almost Great. Tremendous story. Deep well thought out plot lines. The author definitely brought sex into the foreground way too much to the point of comedy. Wish the trial was a little more climactic. But I thoroughly enjoyed these 3 books. Wish the Author didn't kill himself. Would have loved to have read more.

Perfect. A perfectly amazing spy novel.

Couldn't put it down. Combines best of police crime dramas, action, courtroom and political intrigue. It has everything, and brings it hard and fast. Never dull and always unpredictable.

The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. This book ties up loose ends, but ends the series. It is very suspenseful and entertaining.

All 3 Books are Fantastic. One of the most thrilling books I've read in a very long time. I'm sad it's over!

Very pleased. Enjoyed reading the trilogy. Characters and the story felt real and was able to submerge myself into it. I'm sad it's over.

Amazing. I loved it... I could not put it down. I hate that it is the last book.

Great Series. Well written action packed sequel to the Girl with The Dragon Tattoo. Highly recommended!

Loved it. Loved this series of books. Wish there was more. Thank you

So far so good.. The book is awesome so far. Keeps me turning the page wanting more.

The Girl With The Golden Tattoo Trilogy. I don't want the trilogy to end! I'm hungry for more Mikael and Salander!!!!!

Stunningly delicious. There are really no major salacious ways to state that this trilogy provided me with all the helpings necessary to complete and deliver to the reader. I sincerely did not want this masterpiece theater/trilogy to end. I am now sitting pondering whether this reliant anti societal figure would ever be able to adapt to normalcy. Masterpiece with five stars!!!

Sad it's over. I could barely put this series down. I lived it. However, I think that there was a lot of unnecessary details about characters that I just skipped. There were pages upon pages of descriptions of new characters that I found boring.

The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest. Amazing!!!

Amazing!!!!. Lisbeth Salander is my hero✨I couldn't put any of the books down from the series. So sad Stieg Larsson is gone and it was forced to end. Hopefully his girlfriend and his family will get over their crap and release what he wrote in the 4th book. The books are worth your time and money. Enjoy ☺

Soooo love this book!!!. This book was a fantastic read and a great story. I could not put it down!!!!! It was hard reading through all the Swedish names for stuff but what do you expect, it's a foreign book. You will love the characters in this book, there was never a dull moment, and I truly loved the ending. A true MUST-READ!

Least fav of orig 3. But I would still do Lisbeth! ;)

The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest. Almost did not read this book after reading "Tattoo". But as it was, this was a fantastic read and almost impossible to put down. Highly recommend "Hornets Nest" to anyone that likes fiction.

None to compare. By far the best series of books of the new millennium! We can only speculate what Mr. Larsson might have produced had he lived. I wished the stories had never ended.

Great. Coolest character of all time.

Fast-paced action with every page turn!. I absolutely loved this book (and the series). I mistakenly thought that it would be good to read on my lunchbreak but that turned into a fiasco for me because I couldn't wait to get back to the book!! Gripping from the very beginning. AWESOME!

Girl who kicked the hornets nest. Brilliant Piece of work! Exciting, captivating, excellent read. Bravo herr Larsen!

Splendid ending.. Ties up all of the loose ends of the trilogy in a smart and emotionally tugging way. Happy to have read these books.

Excellent Book. Fantastic book ! Great characters, unexpected story lines, etc. a very very enjoyable read.

Beautifully crafted and perfectly paced!. This book is so wonderful! The first two books had me hooked and this concluding volume did not disappoint! It picks up right where The Girl Who Played with Fire ended and immediately jumps into the action! You get to know a lot of new characters, and while some are more minor than others, they are essential to the plot! Lisbeth is as brilliant as ever, with as much spunk as the preceding novels, if not more! Stieg Larsson concluded his Millennium trilogy in a perfect way, and while I am sad that the series has come to end, and that Mr. Larsson is no longer with us, I know that the ending could not more perfect than this! Truly a perfect novel in a world of pointless fiction!
