A Dangerous Fortune. Another great read, a real page turner.

True good vs evil. Captivating. Just as soon as I thought all was ending and the bad guys would win, Follete saved the day. Not all in life Is good but being good always saves a life. Loved the characters, good and evil! Well done.

Great story!. I always love Mr. Follet's strong characters and detailed descriptions of life in the era he's describing, and this book was no exception. My only regret is that I'm running out of Follet books to read.

Fascinating Follett background. Just a note on a wonderful book coming up on its 20 year anniversary - it is so enjoyable to see the "history" of the various Follett stories throughout. Highly recommended.

I wish I would have read something else.. This was the first Ken Follett book I've read and it will probably be the last. I found his writing style lacks flow. The characters weren't developed well and the story moved along too slowly. About halfway through I wanted stop reading however I did pay $7.99 for the book so I figured I would just finish it.

Slow to start. I found this Follet book slower to start than his recent novels. However, it was worth "sticking-with-it", and after about the first quarter, got to the usual "can't put down - have to know what's next". Some of the time jumps in the text leave too much to the imagination, but overall - a thoroughly good read.

All's well that ends well. With characters seemingly from the pre-Downtin Abbey era, this book is exciting and fulfilling. It fulfills many cliches: Pride comes before the fall, Avarice is the root of all evil, and the cream always comes to the top. Filled with murder, sex, and back stabbing, how could his book not be a winner!

Far from his best. Good story over all but doesn’t get moving till about half way thru. Characters became quite predictable. Just not up to what I expected from Follett. Some parts read more like a sleazy rom novel from a novice writer. Over all I was disappointed after having read his Kingsbridge series which is outstanding. I will still look for his others books. Highly recommend his Kingsbridge series.
