Great. Follet never lets me down!

Never. Well written and interesting.

A wonderful book of before the Revolution. Always a great read by Ken Follett of Settlers in America. Love & hate!

Classic Ken Follet expertly taking you back in time. Read what it’s like to be alive in the late 1700s in Scotland, England, and America through the individual stories of various interesting characters and how their paths cross

Worth the read. Freedom is a good read but not on the level of Kingsbridge.

Good read. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. The characters that you like only suffer mildly compared to some other Follet novels. Once you start reading it’s tough to put down.

Freedom. Follett is a brilliant story teller and this was especially enjoyable with the historical fiction angle about indentured slavery of Scottish people.

Another Job Well Done. Ken Follett never fails to come up with an engaging and interesting storyline. I had never thought about Scottish slaves in America. This was an interesting dive into America’s history. I like how Follett even wove in a gentle nod to George Washington. Would definitely recommend this book.

So So. Not enough depth of character. Parts were interesting…. But overall no real surprises…pretty obvious where it was headed and how it would end.

A place called freedom. Great story and read. Drags a little at the end, but ends correctly.

Can’t put it down.. Ken Follett is simply the best. This is another of his wonderful stories.

Love the historical account.. Great characters and moves fast.

Fabulous !!!. Fabulous !!! Just couldn’t put it down ! Thank you Ken Follett you make me so glad I can read …..😁

A place called freedom. The novel is an interesting but lightweight read. Read it when it was first published in hardback and looked forward to rereading the ibook. Unfortunately, there are way too many scanning typos in the ibook. Really a shame.

Place called Fredom. Decent book, lots of good history that I didn't realize about how people were treated back in Scotland/England, and the new world of the colonies. A few long winded parts but overall very good.

Far From the Madding Crowd Lite. As with most Follett books, this one's a page turner. It has an engaging plot, some romance, some history and a few villains to keep things moving. If you want better characters, better sense of place and a more literary experience, read Far from the Madding Crowd instead. I was hoping to learn a bit of US history with this book, but only the last third takes place in the colonies. It was fun to read, but I'm a bit disappointed. Kind of that same feeling one has after watching an OK made for TV movie.

Too Short. Great read. Wish it were longer. Mack and Lizzie hit a point in their lives where they can truly begin again with opportunity for adventure but there the story ends. It’s a legitimate stopping point but interest in the characters begs for more.Follet’s ability to paint a rich picture of characters and places with words is remarkable. So much was going on in America as it chafed under the control of the King in Britain while the colonists and the loyal British and Irish struggle with the old and the new ways of Europe and the emerging America. Mack and Lizzie are caught in the middle of it all. Would make a terrific movie.

Fast read. I enjoy most of Follet’s books, he is a great story teller. This book from page one was riveting, and I had a tough time putting it down.

Loved it but it needs a sequel. Couldn't put it down but it ended abruptly. Needs a sequel. Or two. This story should be continued.

Solid Story Telling by Ken Follett. Ken Follett books are rich in details, engaging, entertaining, well researched, and a great read.
