The Diet: 4 Easy Steps to Permanent Weight Loss
 
Phase one: Attack
Using Dr. Dukan's True Weight calculator, dieters determine a reasonable and healthy weight loss goal. Then they begin the Dukan Attack phase a two-to-seven-day period during which only unlimited lean protein and a daily Oat bran galette (or pancake) are consumed and dramatic weight loss is achieved.
 
Phase Two: Cruise
Dieters alternate days of unlimited lean protein with days of protein combined with healthful vegetables until they reach their True Weight.
 
Phase Three: Consolidation
Dieters stay on this phase for 5 days for every pound lost. At this point the diet allows unlimited protein and vegetables, and other foods (such as cheese and bread) are reintroduced.  Dieters are also allowed two weekly celebration meals to stave off boredom.
 
Phase Four: Stabilization
This is the maintenance portion of the plan, in which followers are allowed to eat whatever they like without regaining weight – provided that they follow 3 unbreakable rules including eating only unlimited lean protein one set day per week.

Yes this works!. We have been on this for 2 weeks. Hubby lost 14 lbs and I lost 10. We both lost 30lbs doing Atkins but did not like the limited foods and buying special Atkins products. Yes this diet makes you cook more but there is so much more variety. The cook book is worth getting and I like the idea of getting fruits and a cheat meal later in the plan. Cautionary here though... Use you head on your food choices, take vitamins and make sure you exercise daily.

Dukan Diet. Having just started this program ( not a diet ) I have lost 5.5 lbs in the first two days! I am also a medical professional ( dentist ) and have always struggled with my weight. I have two young boys to keep up with. This program simply makes sense for a lifetime strategy for health and not just another yo-yo diet. I'm going the distance for many reasons, one of which was the loss of one of my best friends to a heart attack at age 47 three weeks ago. I'm not going to let this happen to me! Be my guest!!!. After reading the book and trying the diet myself all I can say is "Be my guest". The first phase works great if you don't have a job to go to since all you do is cook meats and oat bran. Sure you loose weight, but try anything with as few calories and the pounds will surely melt off. Not as incredible as many of the comments I read before purchasing the book. Use your money to buy yourself a great big basket of fresh, in season local produce instead!

DO NOT GET. I GAINED 7 LBS IN THE FIRST PHASE AND CANNOT SEEM TO LOSE IT!!! WORST F*CKING “DIET"

Good Recipes. So far so good. I have about 90 lbs to lose and I have lost 12 in the first 5 days of the attack phase.

Follow the plan!. Love this book. Lost 30 pounds that I've been trying to get rid of for five years. Love it!!

More quackery. Every few years is another lose weight without lifting a finger fad diet by cutting out one or another food group. They never beat the tried and true method of reducing calories and burning more calories. Save your money and download the Lose It! App.

Finally, a diet that WORKS!. Dr. Dukan is just amazing -- I lost 17 pounds on this diet, and my doctor checked my cholesterol levels and was simply amazed at the dramatic difference for the better!! She said she is going to use me as an example to all her other patients that it can be done! This is a great diet -- I wish I had seen that iTunes had the e-book available before I bought it somewhere else!

A dangerous diet! Regained all along with health issues. Stay away from this copy of the Atkins Diet! Dr. Dukan is being sued by the French Ministry of Health for this dangerous diet. Have you noticed that this book has reviews from before it was even released in the USA? This is a scam!

Great info from the horse's mouth. After web surfing on the subject and getting a wide degree of variance in recommendations, I decided to go to THE source. Well, my French is a bit rusty so decided to purchase an e-book in English version on the subject. Concrete advices with reasoning from Dr. Dukan himself (probably dictating to a transcript) left little room for questions. I still do, however, have some questions. Overall, this book has served me as an excellent guide to successful weight loss & I will be keeping it in my arsenal of wellness.

Great plan. I am so against diets but this plan helped many of us in our family lose the weight. I barely started 2 weeks ago and I think it's wonderful. My mother, sister, and aunt lost sooo much weight and they are healthy and that's what counts.

I love this diet!!!. I have tried several diets in the past but where I tend to fail is caving into my sugary snacks all over again. Yes, that's right I admit I have no will power. However, after 3 days on this diet it's giving me the will power to achieve what I was not expecting. Losing 6 lbs in 3 days. I'm in my early 40's, short (5'2) and have for many years been in need of losing 20 lbs. I'm not there yet, but so far this book is not only easy to read but I really appreciate how this book is like having your own personal doctor cheering you on. Explaining in every detail what to expect right before it happens. I really hope that I will continue to sustain my will power. But I am impressed because if I did have a 1 day cheat day. Getting back on the program would not be difficult. I could totally see using this program as a way of life to eat healthier and to keep off the unwanted pounds for good.

Well written. I have read your book and am very impressed with your strategy for permanent weight loss. I am on your plan and just finished the attack phase. I only want to lose 8 lbs but that may be the toughest since it's not that much compared to so many other people. The more you have to lose the easier it is in the beginning and the last few pounds are the hardest. I lost 1.5 over the two day Attack but will continue because I want to see of this method works. I also am recommending your book for my book club. I think that this information is valuable for any and everyone.

Truly amazing. I was 190 lbs before starting this diet 10 days on attack phase I have lost 14 lbs. All in all I have lost 30 lbs bt I'm not done yet I still have few more to lose but I really love this diet and the book explains it all.
