Physics of the Future by Michio Kaku Book Summary

NATIONAL BESTSELLER • The renowned theoretical physicist and national bestselling author of The God Equation details the developments in computer technology, artificial intelligence, medicine, space travel, and more, that are poised to happen over the next century.

“Mind-bending…. [An] alternately fascinating and frightening book.” —San Francisco Chronicle

Space elevators. Internet-enabled contact lenses. Cars that fly by floating on magnetic fields. This is the stuff of science fiction—it’s also daily life in the year 2100.

Renowned theoretical physicist Michio Kaku considers how these inventions will affect the world economy, addressing the key questions: Who will have jobs? Which nations will prosper? Kaku interviews three hundred of the world’s top scientists—working in their labs on astonishing prototypes. He also takes into account the rigorous scientific principles that regulate how quickly, how safely, and how far technologies can advance. In Physics of the Future, Kaku forecasts a century of earthshaking advances in technology that could make even the last centuries’ leaps and bounds seem insignificant.

Physics of the Future. This book was very disappointing. I expected a scientifically based extrapolation of where we would be in 89 years. Although the author does this to a credible extent for the next 39 years, he begins to depart from a scientifically based prediction and devolved into a rambling, internally inconsistent view of the world in the latter 1/3 of the book. Anyone who is reasonably well read on scientific issues (I.e., who reads the Science Times each week), will learn little and be very frustrated by this book. If you fit this category, don't buy it.

Great Book. Choke-full of Science Digestable by Everyone

Very good book. This book is amazing, it is different from other books on this topic, because the future technological advances that are mentioned are based on prototypes that exist today. Overall great book.

Religion. As a "happy" atheist, I wish the author would have addressed how science can advance without religion. I am convinced that humans obsession with deities and religion are a major roadblock to the advancement of science and our species' advancement. Thank you "The Happy Atheist"

So so,. The recap comparison of a paper dated 1900, left me, completely, understanding this authors demographic based view, even in quoting someone else, sadly. Ok book otherwise.

Physics of the Future. Enjoyed the topics and I enjoy how it's written. Mr. Kaku has the gift of explaining complex and abstract ideas in a way that make sense to me.

Amazing!. This book is beyond a reason of doubt an encouraging book. Page by page your mind begins to expand with possibilities of the future. Thank you Dr. Michio Kaku.
