Great trilogy!. Hooked right from the start. Loved every minute of this series.

Incredible. Surprisingly good for such an unknown book. Recommended to me by a teacher, I was hooked from page 1.

Surprising. A new universe of intriguing characters with depth and complexity rarely found in books of this genre. The origin of magic proves surprising and the supremacy of hope, which seems a genuine human characteristic, provides the genuine thread throughout the story. Hope to read more soon!

Absolutely fantastic!!. Totally worth the build up to how the main characters reunite. The world building is phenomenal and it was a breath of fresh air to travel around the world and back to a place rarely used a setting in all the books I’ve read. Literally took me 15seconds to decide to buy the sequels.

Captivating. I could not put the book down! The characters and overall feeling of the book sucked me in. I connected with all the characters and my feelings would change drastically. This is one of the best books I have read!

Excellent read for all types of readers. Daughter was excellent. An avid reader of books, and a huge fan of YA, Daughter brings something fresh to a spent scene. The writing it tight and skilled while being lyrical and original at the same time. I loved it, couldn't put it down and will wait on tenterhooks until the next one is released.

Just needed a library book.. I wondered around in the library looking for something to read and the cover really caught my eye. It's one of the best I have read in awhile. Just pre-ordered the second one. CAN'T WAIT.

Disappointed. The tone, the voice, the characteristics of each character, everything was unprofessional. I was disappointed to be completely honest. I would not recommend this book.

Exquisite writing, captivating story!. Laini Taylor had me hooked from the very first page. Karu is powerful and interesting, and her adventure weaves its way into your mind bit by bit. I thought the angels & demons thing was over and done, but Laini makes it completely new again! Loved this book.

I have no words. This series has one of the most original plots I have ever read. I have a hard time finding things I truly love but this book was a rollercoaster of emotion and I loved every second. I truly didn’t want to finish it. Highly, highly recommend.

Absurd Ending. The book was wasn’t terrible, but the “cliffhanger” ending was ridiculous. There’s countless ways to lead into a sequel, and creating false drama is the worst of them. The author was good at world building....those were the most interesting parts of the book. I got this on sale for two dollars and I want my money back!! 😇😈

Favorite book ever. When I first saw this book, I was skeptical, just because it looked kind of weird and all. The description does not do it justice whatsoever. This story is so much more than that. I was quickly sucked into the magical world of karou's angels and chimaera, of teeth and of smoke and bone. Literally the best book I have read all year, and I've already read about 30. Can't wait to find out what happens next!

Surprisingly Good. I was pleasantly surprised by this original and fast-paced novel. I was also surprised this was not another knock-off of Twilight. Engaging characters and unexpected twists in the execution of the plot. A bit too much angst in places, though this is a YA novel (which I guess is par for the course) and head-scratchingly abrupt ending. I am assuming this was intentional in order to create a trilogy, but the execution was bit clumsy. Otherwise, I dare you to pick this up and not finish it in a day. I will definitely read the next installment.

Highly recommend this book!. I will admit that I'm not that interested in "Angel stories" (read the first three books of "Mortal Instruments" and wasn't the biggest fan) but I adored this book. It's such a simple story that is conveyed beautifully. One of the easiest five stars I've ever given!

I’m in love first book to make me cry in a long time. When I got this book I was hesitant to start reading it the cover and title look fake deep and kinda cheesy but after I read the first few pages I couldn’t put it down I was in tears at the end

Overhyped... purple prose!. Went into this thinking that it was going to be epic since it was so overhyped and people raved about the writing style.I am one of the very few that did not like this book.Was it nicely written? Yes but too flowery.The author seemed like she was more preoccupied with her writing style, overly describing everything single emotion, background, confusing the readers to annoyance on what the heck was going on and dragging on and on a scene etc.. than focusing on the actual plot. At the end I had no emotional attachment to any of the characters. I'm all about romance and I so badly wanted to love Akiva and Kaoru, but just really didn't care what happened to them. I found myself screaming chapter after chapter-Just get to the point! A good book can be written without all the flowery, fanciful descriptions! It's unnecessary.

Engaging/ loved it, get it!!!. Such a creative story with characters that become more fascinating as you read. Original, couldn't put it down as the mystery developed deeper as to the characters actual purpose & history. Second book fantastic, unable to quit reading!
