"Christopher Paolini is a true rarity." —The Washington Post
Not so very long ago, Eragon—Shadeslayer, Dragon Rider—was nothing more than a poor farm boy, and his dragon, Saphira, only a blue stone in the forest. Now the fate of an entire civilization rests on their shoulders.
Long months of training and battle have brought victories and hope, but they have also brought heartbreaking loss. And still, the real battle lies ahead: they must defeat Galbatorix. There will be no second chances. The Rider and his dragon have come further than anyone dared to hope. But can they topple the evil king and restore justice to Alagaësia? And if so, at what cost?

CAnnot wait. I loved the entire series and if you do a it of reasearch, Christopher plans on writing more books. About the Forsworn and the next riders. Absolutely cannot wait.
Too good. Really enjoyed these books, great purchase
Wow.... Cried. Man did I cry, I've been at these books since I first saw them, and now I'm a sophomore. To see these characters go. The closure that I don't feel ... Idk it was an absolutely amazing experience but at the same time I'm up at 2AM 3 hours after I finished and I still wish for what could never be..
Dis book boss!!!!!. Title says it all
Great read!. Worth it!
Wonderful. Simply... Wonderful. The title says it all... Wonderful. Simply wonderful.
Inheritance. One of the best books ever but I am sad it had to come to an end
Amazing. Amazing that's all I have to say
amazing and sad. amazing and sad pretty much sums it up. I hope there is one more to tie up loose endings and see what Eragon has done!
Inheritance. This is The best book ever I love it so much just so wonderful it's my favorite kind of book it's mysterious magical but it has a lot of action and a question if Galtorborix killed Broms dragon couldn't Eragon find it's heart of heart and speak with his fathers dragon and you have to write about what happens to Eragon
betst book ever. the ending is so sad but the rest ofthe book is amazing
READ THE SERIES. I CRY TEARS OF HAPPINESS AND JOY FOR ERAGON. I'm so happy I read these books. My entire life will change and my view of the world has changed too. Because of these books These books changed me, It's like I was Eragon during the Agaetí Blodhrem. This series is now a part of me. Hah, I can sure say this, I am not who I was before.
Utterly Amazing Masterpiece. This book has blown my mind. Being a huge fan of the cycle, I could have not asked for a better ending to the story. The tragic end puts an amazing twist to the story and makes you want to cry yourself to sleep (mind you I probably nearly cried a few times myself). I would recommend not just this book but the entire series to anyone who wants to read an amazing yet tragic fantasy. 5/5 stars from me and may you all enjoy this series as I have!!!
Good enough to read again. I’ve read the whole series three times and I’m still loving it!
Started good....then it went south!!. The first 2 books were great! The third started out good but at some point it felt like the author decided to make it 4 books and that is where the slow plodding redundant chapters began. This series did not need 4 books. The fourth was extended with 10 to 20 pages sometimes spent describing a hallway or a conversation that could have easily been done in 1 or 2 pages. The added verbiage did not add to the story or character Developement in my opinion.
Great Book. The series is finished but open for more to come. Great reading
Inheritance. This book was really good. It was hard to put it down. Can not wait to see what comes next.
Inheritance. This book was rather um..... AMAZING. I love this author and all his books but this has to be the best. The ending kinda leaves you hanging but that's good because I bet he'll write more about the Riders and Alegasia.
One of the greatest books I have ever read. I honestly have read a lot of different books but this series has been the best by far
Best series ever!!!!. The Inheritance cycle is one of the best book series I've ever read!!!! I've read the whole series 7 times now and it never gets old. The ending always makes me sad though. Great job Christopher.
Why?!. It's funny how most of the ppl who are reviewing this haven't even read it yet. This book made me cry several times, it is amazing I will give it that. But a book is only as good as the ending. The last few books revolved around Eragon, Arya, and Saphira. Say what you might but you know it's true... I kept reading hoping and then *spoiler alert* my greatest fear was brought to reality. Yes, things were looking up for a while, Arya actually didn't reject Eragon for once. And then the author swoops in to ruin everything...! He separates them! Really?! Them saying goodbye to each other is LITERALLY the last paragraph... Why?! All I can say is Why?! Just let Eragon be truly happy for once!!
Eragon, and brisinger. They have so much you want to learn about so you keep reading
Inheritance. One of the best novels of all time - Christopher Paolini delivers a classic!
Amazing except one part.THE ENDING!. Okay I read in 2008 my brother had gotten me interested in it it was amazing eldest was as you know already out so was brisinger (brother owned all) all where great read them all over twenty times each. Inheritance was amazing. But the ending without spoiling anything Chris why did you do this? Now just because of the ending don't not get the book still a good book. This is going to seem kind of pathetic but the ending brought me to tears. It should not have ended like this. As for the people referencing this to lord of the rings or Harry potter don't just don't you make yourself look rather stupid. I have read both of those series I could bear The Lord of the rings but not Harry potter. Potter sucked horribly lotr was boring so boring I could only read it for a hour at a time only turning maybe fifty pages because of how boring it was as for this series. I can finish all four in under a week that is how awesome it is you must buy!
Miss.. This book... This book is one of the best I've ever read and I've read many. I've fell in love with some characters while strongly disliking others. I highly recommend this book, even though if you make it to the end you will be sad to see it go as have i. Long live Queen Nausada, long live Queen Arya-Shadeslayer, and may the stars watch over Eragon Kingkiller and Saphira-brightscales.
The end.... I thought it was a very good contribution to his inheritance cycle. Just like the others: full of excitement and interesting plot points. The only thing that ruins it for me is the end. I expected an epilogue or something. I want to know what happens after! I know it's left to imagination but nobody can create that as well as the man who created the series. This cycle really isn't done for me. It ended on an unfinished note.
AMAZING READ. I really enjoyed reading this book I do wish they made one more book in the series for reasons that might spoil the end
Great story. It was a bit long winded, but a good story nevertheless. I am pleased this didn't turn into a love story and was able to institute a level of practicality and logic that overcame the "love conquers all" ideologies that have been misguiding youths since before the time of Twilight.
Continuing. Continue or prequel the series yah ding-dong!!!! You said you plan not to leave Algaesea forever. CONTINUE!!!!!!!! Please your my favorite author and I'm gonna die if you don't return. I cried my self to sleep the night I finished Inheritance because it was the end. CONTINUE or I don't know what I'm gonna do. 😢😩😞😔😭😡👿 I'm watching your progress Paolini, always watchin'. 😑
Best book ever. This book is greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat there is nothing like it I only hoped it would tell what happened in 100 years again greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat fantastic amazing wonderful breathtaking
A part you should of added. I had one suspicion in this book. If Brom's dragon ( Saphira I ) died why then couldn't Eragon retrieved her hearts of hearts from Galbratorix when they looted his treasure room. If that happened Eragon would be able to meet her. Then he can learn what really Brom was like since they were bonded. It would also been an interesting to learn more about Brom than his really known actions through out the story Eragon is told. And you need to add maybe a new series with this one. But with Eragon doing his things he was going to do in the end. That would be a great series. But other than that great series by far.
Make a new series!!. With an ending like that you can start writing about his adventures over seas and about the new dragons
Deus ex machina. The ending
Great book. Do not listen to any bad reviews.. This is a great book and do NOT listen to any person or reviewer that says otherwise. SPOILERS. People are mad over the end of Eragon and Arya's relationship? I was saddened by this, but I think it's a much less predictable and better than an "Everybody lived happily ever after" ending. It was a great twist. I did not like however, that Roran was able to beat someone who fought off Queen Izlanzadí and then a hoard of elves. Eragon leaving makes for a great ending and nice twist to the story. It was nice to finally see a story that addresses the fact that not every hero gets a perfectly happy ending.
Inheritance-big disappointment. Terrible ending! I regret buying the series and wish I could get my money back. I have never been so disappointed by a book.
Just read the comments. Why purchase and buy this book? Just read the comments since certain commenters are idiots and post spoilers without warnings. You can probably get the whole story for free that way.
Im sad. I loved these books i couldn't help but feel a very deep sense of sadness when i finally finished inheritance i feel like the author could have maybe added a little but more insight between the relationship between eragon and ayra but overall i did shed a few tears at the conclusion and im an 27 year old man love the books wish there were more
I Did NoT Cry....😓. This was a great book and i would recommend it to others but i do hate the ending and no matter what u think Arya should have went with him ... Ugh its hard .. And in my head they will meet again.
I love this book and series!!. I haven’t even bought this book online but i have read it. I have the other three and it just isn’t right without this one. These books are amazing and I really hope Christopher Pailini comes out with another series! I love how detailed they are. Super good!!
It's hard to imagine after. It has taken me many years to finally finish all the books mostly because I had to wait until this last one to be written, but I find that now that it is over I am a little sad. This series has gone through points of my life that needed something out of my elements to read and I greatly enjoyed them for that, but I got so caught up in the story that I couldn't put it down. Sometimes that's a good thing if you are going start to finish with it all, but inheritance had not been finished when I was in the reading frenzy that held me through the first three and I cursed the last book for not being finished. It took me four years to come around to finishing the saga and I now couldn't be happier that I did. Yes some of my friends gave me strange looks when I told them what I was reading, but it never stopped me from diving deep into the pages and going back to the years when I first read eragon. I realize it is only a book, but it brought a good feeling of closure to a part of me that really does love to read, which is tough in this day and age. Finishing this series really just makes me want to read more, which is something I haven't done in far to long.
The best. This book is part of the best series I have ever read. If you are even reading this review and looking about this book think no more and read. It brings you on one of the best adventures ever made and leaves you with some withdrawal once you have finished the series.
Inheritance. I have read this book twice and I really liked it. The other books before this one are really good to if u read them. So if u really like these books write a review. If u haven't read these books READ them now!!!
Inheritance. This series is awesome! One of the best I ever read. The only draw back is that the ending wasn't as good as I would have liked. It almost made me cry
Best Series Ever!. this is the best book i have ever read by far. so easy reading on ibooks… totally the the ten bucks.
Great, but the end should've been different.. Love this book, loved the series. I'd recommend it to everyone of all ages. It's interesting and the author weaves a tail that leaves one entranced. My only grievance is the ending. I think it could've been much better as far as Eragon and Awrya's relationship could've gone. I won't spoil it, but I could've had a bunch of ideas for better outcomes. Despite that, the series is great and the end didn't quite kill the integrity of the Story. Again, I'd recommend it to anyone, it's a good read, and everyone would love it.
Great. The book was great and it was the best series I ever read but half the book was about Romans story which I really didn't care about. And the book and a very unfinished ending and came to a quick end otherwise great book
Good job. Great book I did not want to stop reading but I wish he added a bit more too the end of the story
Awesome. An almost indescribable experience
Great Conclusion to an epic series!. Very good book, full of twists and turns. Sure to keep you busy for a week.

good not AMAZING. I loved the whole Inheratance cycle but I was a little disapointed with this book. I was expecting this book to be AMAZING but it was just great. Parts of the book were amazing but it did drag on a little in the middle. I wan't a fan of the ending or who the green dragon egg hatches for. Overall this book was pretty good. If you enjoyed the other books in this series you will enjoy it aswell.
Well done. I really enjoy the ending to this series although it left me wanting when it came to closure between Arya and himself. I am really hoping a 5th book comes soon
Awesome ending!. Great Conclusion to an amazing series. Paolini has really developed as an author throughout the series, and this final part has been a great read. There are many surprises, expect the unexpected! Definitely worth getting if you haven't already.
Wonderful. This is truly a great book, I read it in only a few days because I simply couldn't put it down. I have felt so much for these characters, each one is so amazingly unique. The ending of course left me very sad because I expected love to take hold of the characters hearts, and a happily ever after. However for the ones who are disappointed as much about the ending as I am, don't fear because the author is thinking about writing more books about alagaesia and include some of the main ones. I hope this happens, but until then all we can do is keep our fingers crossed.
Skilled Writing. Paolini did a masterful job writing the conclusion to the final book on the series. I was a little disappointed by Eragon and Arya's ending, but overall it was excellent. Its a must have!
So so. Hi
Amazing. This is truly and honestly the best book I have ever read. I highly recommend it for readers who like adventure, suspense, laughter, fantasy, and a sprinkle of romance. It's worth it, peeps! 😄
Inheritance cycle. This is the best series I have ever read. It is just perfect. A bit sad of an ending-but not too sad. Thank you Christopher paolini for creating such a beautiful book series. Hopefully he can make more books because I just can't believe that I finished it. It's like losing a part of me-like glaedr when he loses oromis. 100000000% recommend for EVERYONE.
