The Adventures of Dough Girl by Hope Edwards & Peter Spenser Book Summary
A mild-mannered baker, a Master Chef, turns into “Dough Girl,” a superhero. That’s the premise behind this whimsical little children’s book written by ten-year-old Hope Edwards. In the story, Dough Girl flies off to the local school to help a little girl named Meghan who has been confronted by Pat, the Evil Cook. Meghan is being forced to eat unpalatable muffins that have been baked in a Food Factory from “processed dough.”
This is a gently exciting adventure for young children. At the same time it is, for their parents, partly a parody of adventure comics, partly a call to be more careful about what we feed our children, without being heavy-handed in its message.
This picture book is enhanced with dialog and sound effects, which are accessed by touching the audio player controls visible throughout the book. Definitions and usage examples are available for any word in the text by merely touching that word on the screen. Ages: 4 to 8 years. Viewable on iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch only. Will not display correctly on other e-book devices.

cute interesting story. it was a cute and interesting story, the sound effects were a nice touch. this is a good bedtime story to read to your kids. Although I have to say I felt a little guilty since I am one of those moms who doesn't bake her own bread/muffin (gasp!). but that aside, it's a nice story originally written by a kid as well.
