Excellent. May be my favorite novel in the series.

One of the best authors out there. I've read several of James Lee Burkes novels. He continues to enchant me with his descriptive writing. I feel the breeze, smell the flowers and taste the salt when I am reading one of his books. This one is particularly good in that he provides some soul searching through his characters.

A Morning for Flamingos. I may have missed a book b/t the last one I read and this but I think not. The reason I make that observation is there seemed to be a tremendous amount of life experience unexplained: how Annie died, hoe they ended up with the child. The review: It was a bit disjointed to me. Key issues left unexplained-the Vietnam experience, what was the point of the book, didn't seem to have a consistent thread of a storyline. It just missed the mark compared to previous writing. Lots of sub-plots but not pulled together well. But I give it a 4 because it possesses real life lessons born out of real life experiences. The characters are real, human , flawed but there is always the possibility for redemption. Thank you.
