Outstanding. This book presents a story in a beautiful way. I’ve never seen this way of telling a story like this. I love it

Just wow. I think this book was so good, you couldn’t put the book down and the perspective of a boy in denial is so good just wow

Cute. I feel this book could’ve been at least 4 stars if not for the writing style, which I just couldn’t vibe with. It read too juvenile for a book that was aiming to be somewhat philosophical, to the point where it felt shallow. I really enjoyed the characters’ relationships, even if the dialogue felt incredibly awkward and unrealistic. But still very cute.

Disgusting Book. Promotes bad morals

So lovely. Beautiful. I didn’t stop crying. The book had so much compassion, and really showed a wonderful coming of age story as well as figuring out one’s identity and place in the world and place in other peoples worlds. And it had love. Love love love. I’m overwhelmed. I really liked this book.

No. This was far too boring for me

🫶🫶. I loved this so hard

Amazing emotional roller coaster. This book is beautiful and well worth the time.

Please read!. This is the best book I've ever read.

beautiful. i relate so much to this book and these characters. sáenz is a beautifully amazing writer :')

Begging you to read it. This piece of literature is one of the best things I’ve ever gotten the chance to read. The characters felt so real and relatable that they could be sitting right next to you. I, especially, felt so close to Ari. His struggles. His fears. His worries. And Dante, sweet and caring Dante. I love him an incredible amount that I can’t imagine how it must feel for Ari, who I bet loves him even more than I do. One of the things I love most about this book is the parents. They’re everything I wished to have but didn’t get. They’re not the best, they’re not perfect— but they’ll always be there for their children, no matter what. God I love this book so much.

This needs a second book. This book is amazing, one of the best books I've ever read and I've read a lot of really good books

10/10. I loved this book so much

Amazing. This books so good

everything i heard about it was true. very good book, it made me think a lot and made me feel and was actually the first book i’ve completely finished in yrs and in such a quick time :-)

Its really a great book. Sometimes a book hits you right where it hurts. Sometimes a book can touch your. This is one such book.

Lovely story, bro. Yassssss

Ari is a interesting and insightful protagonist. Really liked this character and his voice! Such a well written and developed character, with flaws and strengths alike. He felt real and relatable to me, although I am neither a boy or teenager. Overall, I liked the characters but felt like the ending and second half was a bit rushed and undercooked. Definitely demands a reread to really parse the nuances of the storytelling.

I wish I could read it forever. absolutely loved it

Best Book I’ve Read this Year. I don’t cry when I read books. I just don’t. I’ve actually been looking for books that would supposedly make one cry. I saw this book on one list and chose not to believe it. I wasn’t expecting to be wrong. I wasn’t expecting to have my heart broken and healed and taken apart and put back together again. I wasn’t expecting to relate so much to the characters’ experiences, to have their pain mirror my own so intimately. I can’t really name a problem I have with the book. There are some things to consider before reading it: transphobia, homophobia, internalised homophobia, violence. The story is masterfully written. I love this book with every part of me.

I’d give more stars if I could. - Favorite book so far, which is a big statement. But I loved all of it. The mundane things that make you smile, yeah it was full of it. The dry humor and sarcasm. Actually witnessing the characters grow through text. The realness of how we see ourselves at our teen years. The way the words flowed from my eyes through my chest to the tips of my fingers. It made me happy, so incredibly happy and detached from the world while simultaneously loving and feeling connected to it. The parents, oh god the parents. The freaking tension!!!!!!! Once it picked up, I could not put down. Finished in 4-5 hours

Incredible!. Incredible!

Best book I've ever read. Honestly this book is perfect. I read this book in one sitting cover to cover. I had to stop a few times because I literally didn't want the book to end, and almost tried to take it slower and savor this perfect novel.

Beautiful book. Loved it.

Must read. MUST READ

❤️. Very intriguing and inspired dialogue. Beautifully written, beautiful story about love, and life.

Timeless. It’s been years and I keep coming back to this masterpiece. Strong emotions coming back undimmed each time. Every single bit beautifully put together.

AMAZING. I cannot even begin to explain how much I'm in love with this book. I definitely recommend reading this book! I've read it five times and each time I just fall more in love with it, it's a book that I will never grow tired of and is definitely one of my all time favorites. The story of Aristotle and Dante will always be my favorite I think.

Breathtaking. This book is amazing. It has a great story and amazing characters easy to relate to. It is definitely a book I’ve read more then twice. It leaves you wanting more. Great book!

You wont be able to put it down. I don’t review books very often, but I think this I’ll make an exception for this one. I read the whole book in just a couple hours and I almost cried (Or maybe did a little) a thousand times. I loved the ugly of the story and I loved the beautiful and so will you.

phenomenal - six stars. i don’t want to talk for forever, so i’ll keep this short. this book impacted me in so many ways. i truly believe that this book allowed me to understand and accept myself more thoroughly than i did before. i cannot recommend it enough.

Simply Beautiful. As soon as I got this book, I sat down and read. I finished it at 1 am last night and wow, this book is indescribable. I don’t hesitate saying its one of the best if not the best book I’ve ever read. I’m definitely going to reread. If you’re ever lost, afraid, doubting yourself, or even just bored, I absolutely recommend this book. You find yourself in Ari and Dante and you fall in love with the two boys. I personally struggle with a lot of self doubt and I think this book made me reflect on myself. The words hit deep. This book made me feel something.

Beautiful. This book was honestly such a good read, and it made me feel a sense of comfort and familiarity?? It was honestly just too relatable and I could place myself into the characters as if we were one.

Beautiful, passionate, dreamlike.. This book...where do I start. This book is a stunning work of art. It takes us on a journey through the hormonal struggles of 16 year old Ari, who so deeply loves another human being, but is unable to admit it due to social stigmas that have been engrained in him. The author weaves a tale of self-discovery that we can all relate to, LGBTQ+ or otherwise. But what’s important to notice, is that we finally have a gorgeous, realistic story of what it means to fall in love, and to overcome the pressures of a closed minded society. Finally.

Amazing. I had to read this for school and fell in love with the characters and the writing. This is a must read.

Amazing. I first read this book when my sister let me borrow it one day when I was bored and had nothing to do. Since then I have fallen in love with it and it continues to remain in my most loved books category. This is undoubtedly one of the best books I have ever had the privilege to read.

Makes you think. As a 15 year old Mexican-American kid, I found this book incredibly relatable. Sometimes it takes a good book to make you realize that you’re not the first, nor last person to feel a certain way. This book made me think about a lot of things and it’ll probably stay in my heart for a long time. Do I recommend? Heck yeah.

No words... It’s just the BEST!. Read this book in 9th grade. It was the most exciting, wonderful and catchy book I’ve read. Each page made me want to read the next one, and next one and so. I read it once more and it felt like it was rewrote in a more delightful way. Great job!

Yes. A beautiful story that I will always love

Over rated. I don’t know why this book got so many good reviews. It was very predictable and the story line was a little redundant. Way overhyped

Excellent. This book draws you in so much that you will find tears running down your face and you didn’t even realize you’re crying. Not because it made me sad, instead because it’s so touching and real and honest and open. A very uplifting story that I feel fortunate to have read.

Favorite book. when I first read this book irl I LOVED IT. I really love the writing style and just aaahhh I love it

No Shame. This book made me comfortable enough to come out publicly. This book showed me that there was no shame. This wonderfully, gorgeously written book, full of amazing themes of love, family, friends, race, sexuality, this book just amazes me, I've read it 3 times already. I wish I could personally thank the author for this beautiful book, but I guess for now this will have to do.

Dante and Ari. Best book I ever read

they discovered each other 🥺. i love this book so much. excited for the movie 😼

My All Time Favorite. I laughed, I cried, I gasped. This is a must read.

Fantastic. My favorite book. Just read it.

Amazing. This book really had me crying Ari and his relationship with is family, especially his father, was something that I could really relate to I loved how his relationship with Dante wasn’t all “everything is always okay with us and we never fight!” They weren’t boring which was great In all I have absolutely fallen in love with this book and it will probably become one of my unhealthy obsessions

A really great read!!. I read this after all my friends recommended it to me and after devouring it in under 5 hours I can't believe I waited as long as I did. One of the best lgbt novels I have ever read- actually, one of the best novels I have ever read period.

One of my favorite books of all time. This is such a wonderful book. Just read it, you can thank me later.

My favourite book. This book made me love books. I wasn’t much of a reader until I read Aristotle and Dante. I just understood it so much and it made me understand a lot of things. The way I felt while reading this book was a different but a good feeling. I was actually reading it, not forcing myself but really reading it. This book was the first book that I didn’t feel the need to read it just so that I can say I read a book but because I truly enjoyed it. I hope there’s a sequel.

Wow.. This book was so overwhelming and beautifully written, I never felt so much emotion while reading a book. Wow, just wow.

This book is great. I read this book for my grade 8 English class. I loved it so much I found the story was different from other books and i am very happy my school chose it. Highly recommend it 👍🏼
