GARCIA SANCHEZ, Javier, 2006: K2. Barcelona, Planeta, 464 paginas. "Cada vez es menor el numero de quienes conmigo suben hacia montanas cada vez mas altas", dice Zaratustra en Ecce Hommo, una frase que muy bien podria reflejar el espiritu de esta novela, la historia de una tormentosa escalada a la cima mas dificil de la Tierra, el K2, en 1993. La tormenta no es solo meteorologica -que tambien, y en grado sumo, como suele ocurrir en cualquier ochomil- sino que envuelve al protagonista en una suerte de angustia psicologica, metafisica, sentimental y, por supuesto, filosofica. No en vano Nietzsche, precisamente, esta presente en sus paginas con otra de sus metaforas de altura: "Si miras demasiado tiempo al abismo, el abismo te mirara a ti" (p. 151).
