The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe Book Summary

Poet tells of a talking raven's mysterious visit to a distraught lover, tracing the man's slow fall into madness. The lover, often identified as being a student, is lamenting the loss of his love, Lenore. Sitting on a bust of Pallas, the raven seems to further instigate his distress with its constant repetition of the word "Nevermore". The poem makes use of a number of folk and classical references.

The greatest. Edgar allan poe is the greatest writer of them all. I'm his biggest fan and I love the dark poems. If only he was alive to know how much I think he is a genius.

Amazing. Very spooky!!

The raven. Awesome

The Raven. This is one of my best poems to read in a dark room and sit there with my own thoughts that would scare the heap out of you but my most favorite is Tall Tale Heart

Horridly beautiful story. Edgar Allen Poe is one of my favorite writers and I love all of his books! 😱+😊=😃

Beautiful. This piece of poetry written by Edgar Allan Poe is marvelous , I highly recommend it after reading many of his works it's changed my view on many things . He makes things dark and make sense with what he writes .

Very deep. I didnt quite understand the meaning of the words because it’s a classic but nevertheless the theme of the poem is good and creative i like the idea of a raven and the symbolic meaning of it. Well done Poe.

It good. I likey

AWSOME. AWSOME

Good horror!. If the version of the Simpsons was great, you will love the original version!

very good. very interesting and deep

i really enjoyed reading this book. i really love the spookiness and the good poetry great work :D

Great!. Great book!

The raven. I love this piece by Edgar Poe. How he was able to portray someone he loved that is dying in the next room while a bird is telling him he will never see her again...what an amazing mind.

Short and Spooky. It was okay. Cool imagery. Spooky-ooky, ya know? Had to read it in a British dialect. Felt like a depressed, sleep-deprived Dr. Seuss. I was like, "is this guy hydrated?". Anyway, it's short -- decent read if you're waiting in line at the DMV.

Need to read. This was something I needed to read and that I put myself in the store while reading it. like when someone would read it to me as a kid.

I DONT KNOW WHAT I JUST READ. :D. The words were so big and complex, that I wasn't understanding what was happening. Overall, I thought it was a great book. It reminded me of the book " the old lady who swallowed a fly". So many plot twists. I will read this book nevermore!!!!!!!!!!

Wow. Wow amazing and very deep.

Is good. Good book yeah wow

One of my favorites.. I have bought it, Free, (who’d thought it!?), Purchased from the online Apple store, Poe, who wrote it, Never gloated, But this poem I adore, This I write, and nothing more.

Poe’s Raven. If thy wish is to entreat thee, with a poem so ghastly, beastly, make it known there is a freely written poem of wanton score. With no doubt, The Raven, driven to the edge of conscious reason made a mark of unseen vision thrust into the reader’s core. Will it bore you? Nevermore!

Good poem. A classic Poe poem that is an easy read.

awesome. this has to be my favorite poem. you should definitely read it, its great.

Beat ever. Awwwwwwwww snap

Awesome. This book has so much meaning and I recommend it to all that love Edgar Allen Poe

A piece to interpret your own way. Moving

Brilliantly written. This poem's singular sonority and choice of words play an important part in conveying its author's feelings, which is always peculiar

The Raven. Captivating

Great poem. This was a great poem

Awesome. Share

Best!!!!. Still the best of all these years

Amazing. This poem is amazing! Edgar Alan Poe is the best!

Missing a word. This poem is incomplete. It is missing the word “word”

The best poem. Edgar Allan Poe created my favorite poem.for me, I am a very negative person who thinks the world just can’t be all sunshine and rainbows. It shows this side of the world.if you are someone like me,you would understand.if you are a happiness person, there is love in this poem❤️!please read without doubt!!!!!!!!!

The best. It speaks to my soul.

I READ THE OTHER REVIEWS!!!. That’s all so far, just waiting for my parents to approve of my purchase for 0 dollars and 0 cents just waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting (5000 years later) and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting

100 percent a good piece of art. edgar allen poe has always been my favorite poet and story writer he provides the right amount of suspense and mystery in his plots

Stunning!!. The poem is stunning with amazing detail! No wonder this is so famous!

Loves. What a great snippet

The Raven. This poem is good for a short story, that allows for quite a bit of optional thinking. When reading poems, I think of what they mean to me, and what the poem could have meant to the poet.

The Raven. Really a excellent poem by Poe this should be read if you really like a well written poem.

Amazing. Just an absolutely beautiful and amazing piece of poetry

The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe. It’s a cool way to make you think about what’s happening.

Nevermore!. So dark, so rich, so frightening! Quoth the raven, nevermore! This is a great poem; you feel his pain for Lenore. I'm sure many can relate to this poem.

A scary gothic classic tale, truly terrifying. Honestly, this may be the scariest poem of all time. It is scary even now, with movies like the ring and the exorcist, and games like outlast and resident evil. But back in the early 1800s, back when a storm could give a fully grown man a heart attack. This is a classic, a must-have, and it’s free!

Gothic poetry masterclass. Classic is clearly an understatement when it comes to the one and only Edgar Allen Poe, whose dark and somewhat twisted style comes through in this hauntingly beautiful tale of demise and unrequited love.
