The Scarlet Pimpernel. Well, I'm only 12 but I read this book for fun, and I thought it was amazing! I just finished it today and I can't wait to read the next one! It was easy for me to understand and the characters are so interesting! I think that even though the main character is a girl:) A boy would like it too because of all the action. I think that modern day books like the hunger games and divergent(which I have read)kind of build off of books like this. You should definitely read this before you read those other books. Such a wonderful story!!. My grandma begged me for years to read or watch the Scarlet Pimpernel, however, me being the young, stubborn little girl I was, refused. However, recently, I finally gave in and watched the 1982 Scarlet Pimpernel movie with her. I loved it so much that I watched it four more times after that within the span of two days after watching it the first time. I knew I had to read the book!! This book was extraordinary! At first, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it, but in the end, I absolutely adored it. It is a real page turner, never a dull moment or slow part. The characters were brilliant, and the ending left me at a loss for words. The romance in this story had me screenshotting quotes left and right! Hell, if only all men were like Sir Percy Blakeney, haha. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys historical literature, romance, dashing heroes, etc.

Absolutely Amazing!!!. I originally had to read this for literature for the first semester of seventh grade and now love this book. It is perfect and would be great reading for most, my one warning is if you're not used to reading harder literature then you might want to work your way up to this. Orczy does a wonderful job describing everything and coming up with a storyline that is unique. Overall this is certainly a great book to read for fun!

LOVED this story. This book is wonderful!! It is wholesome, suspenseful in some parts, deep, has engaging characters, and the happiest ending i have read in a while. I don't know how to put this but reading many of Baroness Orczy's contemporary authors, a despairing, almost jaded outlook on life comes in through their satire. But her books seem inherently- hopeful. Yes they portray evil- but they portray goodness & faith as more powerful. I also loved that the main character is truly a gentle man- his strongest trait is his compassion. We need more people like that. This book is decidedly a fun read- I got swept away in it. Emmuska Orczy could've been a detective, I just marvel at how her mind came up with this stuff. Its a crazy adventure story along with a beautiful romance & old friendships & saving peoples lives- & danger. I found it very comforting & life affirming in the end. If you are having a hard time & have a day to spare (cause you're going to want to finish this book in one sitting!) and you just need to get away for a bit and have some good old suspenseful running around in the streets of paris fun, and you also might be in need of a little reassurance and beauty and goodness and a story that turns out happy in the end, then this is the book for you!! enjoy!

To Die For. I do not like reading, but I will pick up this masterpiece ANYTIME. Its beautiful and so classic. Its my favorite book. No one has ever read it and disliked it. The movies (1934 and 1984) are also to die for. I can not recommend this book enough!

The Scarlet Pimpernel. What a wonderful and exciting text this book is. The suspense and action of the plot combine to make for a very intriguing story. I was amazed at how the author wove action, romance, and suspense together to make such a wonderful book. A must read!

You will NOT regret reading this cunning tale!!!!. Never have I read a book quite so enticing. From page 1 and on, I was completely and utterably entranced. "The Scarlet Pimpernel" proved to be full of a kind of ingenuity and cleverness which I couldn't help but give my full attention to. This book has everything - adventure, suspense, and even some romance! What I am saying is basically this - you will NOT be sorry for reading this delicious novel. And yes, I mean it when I say that this rare treat is delicious, for there is never a dull moment; the story unfolds quickly, but not abruptly; as the reader you will feel complete after reading it; you will be filled with emotions that resemble awe and amazement. This is definitely one of, if not my favorite, books of all time. For reference, I am a 15 year old female. But, nevertheless, age, nor gender matters not in the verdict concerning the wonderfullness of this book.

SO. GOOD!!!. I came to this story mostly out of the desire to read what inspired another favorite story of mine, Zorro. This did not disappoint!! So much adventure and drama, romance and heartbreak, and the ending!!! I won’t say anything further to spoil it, but oh man, it is so, so brilliant!! 👏👏👏

Fun!. Overly dramatic descriptions of people and events make up for trite storyline.

Scarlet Pimpernel. Great story with a romantic touch and interesting to know that this book influenced many vigilante stories.

Boring💤. Worst book ever. If being so old that its in the public domain isn't bad enough, it's boring, and hard to understand. The author takes 1 paragraph and stretches it to 2 pages. It's mainly the narrorator ramping on endlessly. Sometimes I just want to scream at the author to get to the point. The only people who would enjoy this book are college professors majoring in English who have also memorized the dictionary. Again, worst book EVER!!!!!!!! Maybe even worse than the Westing Game

THIS BOOK.. The detail in this book is incredible. I cannot believe I couldn't put "The Scarlet Pimpernel" down, because I generally am really not a reader, But every chapter ended with a cliff hanger and Orczy REALLY made the characters come off the page. Everyone should read this book it is unpredictable, surprising, and addicting!!!!

Fantastic classic !. There is high intrigue! Daring do, a touch of courage and bravado, all mixed up in a pleasurable read. I recommend it.

The scarlet pimpernel. Extremely readable adventure story. It was not all what I expected. Told in s straight forward writing style with a heavy pinch of British charm. Only criticism is that the character depth is little shallow, but it's the plot line that drives this novel. I was sad to finish reading it.

Amazing!. I absolutely LOVE this book! It teaches sooo much french history! I have gotten a countless amount of vocabulary from it and it IS understandable! (I'm only twelve and I can understand it!) Orczy Has such a great description, and I adore the ever-mystifying fop Sir. Percy! I highly recommend the book although it will not make sense to teens under the age of probably 16 (because of the challenging vocabulary). overall, the scarlet pimpernel brings action, mystery, love, and history into a beloved classic.

The scarlet pimpernel. This was a wonderful read about the French Rebolution and the atrocities committed there are the brave English men who would save those ordered to die by Madame Guilotine.
