Excellent read. Paints a picture of the story in a way that the movie didn’t

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. This was an excellent read, and only deepened my interest with the film adaption. Although I’ve watched the movie countless times I was beyond shocked and intrigued every time I reached a new chapter. It’s thrilling and gives you an entirely new and inquisitive perspective on dinosaurs. This is by far one of the best reads I’ve experienced in years.

Loved it. If you saw the movie already, know that this is the book it’s based on. It’s also very different in several ways, particularly with the tone and ending. Unlike the blockbuster feel of the movie, the book gives you much more to think about and has a tense, frightening tone.

4.5/5. Awesome book, i wish we could give half ratings. I am always for agreement with books versus movies but I’m glad they changed Lex up in the classic movie. She was very annoying and at times made me want to stop reading.

I LOVED THIS BOOK. This book was great it was exiting and fun and overall my favorite book of all time

Amazing!. This book is in so many ways different than the movie. They are two different stories and the book is definitely better. Once you start you cannot stop.

Absolutely love. Hi everyone, I’ve always loved the Jurassic park movies but then one day my dad told me there where books, so I got the book as soon as I can so I can read it and I found it much better then the movie. I will say usually I’m not a big fan of violence but I didn’t care because the story line is so great I just finished the book today and I’m happy with the ending

A masterpiece!. An excellent book where science and imagination come together for a Jurassic thrill ride! Explosive storytelling brings this book to life and will keep you on the edge of your seat.

First and Favorite Crichton Novel. I’ve read all of the authors books but this is where I started and even after all of these years it’s still my favorite.

Loved this book!. So much better than the movie. A must read.

4.5. 4.5

AWESOME!!! 🦖🦖🦖😍😍😍. This is the beast book I have read in a long time it is very suspenseful and a good action packed book. MUST READ

Read this book!. Way better than the movie.

Just Wow!!. Had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. What an amazing read! Can’t wait to read “ The Lost World” now!

Movie was better. I've never said this before about a book that was adapted into a movie, but Jurassic Park the movie is better than this book. It's far more exciting.

Better than the movie tbh. Just when you think you know what happens next the story takes decent twists , u highly recommend this read!

Amazing. No complaints

At long last!. Finally got to read the original source material 28 years after watching the movie, and I am glad at long last I read this! The saying is true, the books are better than films.

Roar. Very good book, I am a big fan of dinosaurs and this was a nice fictional story that seemed plausible, unlike other fiction books.

Amazing Read; Better than the Movies. This is a classic book. I sincerely hope this becomes a discussed read for early science majors in school. Fantastic writing and compelling ideas.

Wow!!!. I absolutely loved this book!! As a kid I have always loved the movies and decided it was time to read the books. Very impressed.

Absolutely brilliant. The characters are more serious and more scary. John Hammond one dark Walt Disney doesn’t care about the park the dinosaurs or even his own grandchildren just money and himself. Alan a very brilliant hero . Ellie one tough girl . Ian a very outgoing mathematic. Donald genaro has a big part in the book fears that the dinosaurs and the park are too dangerous. Henry Wu knew that making a dinosaur from dna was a big mistake he’s ever done and knew that things would happen. Robert the game warden has a better part drinking and mistakes rexy from a she to a he . Timmy and lex much better Tim much older and lex younger . Dennis nedry I like his death better the dilophosaurs spiting in his face and slicing his tummy and feeling his own intense boy is that so scary . And more dinosaurs in the book apatosaurus euploephalus hipsolophadont Othelia dryosaurs coelurosaurs styracosaurs triceratops stegosaurus microceatops procompsognathus dilophosaurs cearadactylus velociraptor and Tyrannosaurus rex aka rexy and the juvenile rex . I say this book is the best adult book for me and 12 year old boys and girls . But for little kids no too scary. Only the junior novels .

Inventive Masterpiece. Michael Crichton wowed many ( including myself ) with the release of ‘Jurassic Park’. The creative, original story takes the reader through a dark, compelling, heart-pounding, and even scientifically-sound adventure through a world of dinosaurs. The book doesn’t start off fast, but builds into an intense climax, and the more you read, the more you want to read. I recommend it for anyone who loves great stories and fantastic adventure.

A Masterpiece. A brilliant and masterful story.

For people who want a good book. There’s three Sci-Fi authors I would recommend to everyone: Orson Scott Card, Isaac Asimov, and Michael Crichton.

🦖🦕. Love this book!!! It is as good as the movie!! Thankfully they took much from the book. If you really love the movie give the book a read!

Me like da movie. Pretty gooooooood

Jurassic Park Review. Jurassic Park, is a thrilling read from start to finished. The characters are throughly fleshed out, all feeling different and unique from one another. Humans coming in contact with dinosaurs is just as exciting and gruesome as one might think. Although, some encounters seem more realistic than others. Overall, if you love dinosaurs, thrillers, or enjoyed them film at all. I think there is something here for everyone to enjoy.

Amazing. Great, but how does a Dino shoot poison 50+ feet and blind someone? Also, Muldoon doesn't say anything but "bloody hell".

A scary read. The series of the Jurassic Park books are way more involved then the movies, of course. The books are a very scary read, and you are more afraid of the Dinosaurs in the books then in the movies. I thoroughly loved the movies, including Jurassic World, and the Lego game, but the books were much more enjoyable.

Oh balls it’s so good a thing from the bok. Bestseller and I love ❤️ it

great. it’s certainly a great book. this is one time where i do not agree that the book is better than the movie though. i’m not saying that book isn’t great, but this is one story where seeing these creatures was better than reading about them. and steven spielberg brought them truly to life. the book has characters that are different, added and changed scenarios, but it feels like the plot is 80% the same. different enough you will get enjoyment out of this. i loved it.

good. it was good would suggest

Spared no expense!. Favorite book of all time it had me at the edge of my seat. 2nd time reading it, I’m ready for a third!

Absolutely loved the book!!!!. I'm a huge fan of the Jurassic Park movies and finally got the chance to see where Spielberg got his inspiration from....needless to say from the first page to the last I had no idea what adventure I would experience, the story is a rollercoaster of emotions where you don't know who will live who will die what's going to happen next? The story that is written in these pages is the story I would have loved or would love to see brought word for word to the big screen which some aspects of Jurassic World are definitely displayed here but overall this is a must read for any sci-fi fan or someone looking for a quick read, amazing work!!!

Obviously, different than the movie. But I didn’t expect the story to be so interesting. It’s so good. Ends of chapters left me saying “just one more” till I missed hours of sleep. I loved this book and I’m not really a book reader.

Couldn’t put it down. So, just putting it out there that I’ve been reading it off and on for about a week. This morning I woke up at around 6:30am and didn’t really feel like reading news, so I picked it up and, well, now here I am 12 hours later and just finished it. Yes, I did other stuff today, too, like working out and meal prep, but I really wanted to get back to this book and finish it. My husband and I just watched the movie again last night because I was reading it. There were already obvious differences (way more characters, way more violence, the ages of the kids were flip-flopped, etc.), and these differences only became more glaring as the book went on. You know what? The book is much better than the movie in all respects but one: I wanted to punch the Lex in the book. Seriously. Book Lex is freaking annoying. She’s a whiny, mean little b who is just destined to grow up to be a Karen. She’s always hungry, she’s overbearing, and I’m having a really hard time thinking of any redeeming qualities. It was especially annoying when she was freaking out at her brother, screaming at him the entire time he was trying to figure out how to turn the main power on so he could oh, I don’t know, SAVE EVERYONE. I could have easily done without Book Lex. I enjoyed the other characters whose roles were either greatly reduced or completely omitted from the movie. Dr. Wu was an important figure in the book, as it was his work that brought the dinos to life. Muldoon was interesting, and Gennaro doesn’t get killed off. It was oddly satisfying to read how Nedry was violently killed given his actions. In general, the book was one of the more violent ones I’ve read, but the violence was written very well. I found myself grabbing for an invisible tub of popcorn a few times. Hammond was the most surprising departure. I mean, having Richard Attenborough in your head while you’re reading about this truly sociopathic character is slightly jarring. Aloof but jolly grandpa vs totally Trumpian egomaniac who admits at the end that he can’t stand his own grandchildren and only invited them so that Gennaro would be less likely to want to kill the project. And while we’re talking about Hammond’s Trumpian qualities, once he starts reflecting on what happened at the island, he finds a way to blame literally everyone for botching it somehow: Wu didn’t know what he was doing, Muldoon was a drunk (which is the only accurate one), Arnold was incompetent, and on it went. I mean, God forbid he admit that the whole idea of cloning dinos in and of itself was the problem. Lord no! He just got the wrong people to execute his vision, and badmouthed even (or especially) the ones who died while doing their jobs. Oh, and don’t even get me started on his whole, “I made this island for rich children”, crap. As I said. Trumpian. I won’t spoil his fate, but let’s just say he doesn’t leave the island in a helicopter. I’ve already bought the next book, so here’s hoping it’s just as good!

Pretty good. It’s not perfect but it’s a good read. The way the action is described in certain parts feels a bit clunky and awkward, but this is very good science fiction. I found myself wanting a lot more characterization and more suspense. But to its credit, the lack of suspense I felt may have been because I’ve seen the movie and for the most part this book follows it pretty closely. I thought the last chapter or two and the epilogue felt like rushed/forced set-up for a sequel. I think the sequel he wanted to write when he finished this book is much different from how The Lost World ended up.

dinosaurs. Dinosaurs

So much better than the movie!. Read it, immediately!

It’s basically A rated R Jurassic Park. That doesn’t mean that it’s bad it’s actually pretty good with the movie it’s basically with that Spielberg magic to it so they’re both equal spoilers if you haven’t read the book yet The cliff hinder is strange well that’s what I basically have to say anyways I recommend it

Great. One of the best books of all-time. It’s a thrilling read. More thrilling than the movie. Timeless

Brilliant. Fantastic brilliant book

Nobody needs this review. Unless you’ve been living under a cave, everyone has seen the movie and likely enjoyed it thoroughly. The book was a bit different and it’s likely that the movie cut the last couple scenes as in my opinion, did not make a lot of sense. This was of course a wonderful concept for science and in my opinion the movie and script improved upon the book. I enjoyed the book.

Jurassic park. I couldn't stop reading this book it is a 5 star book for any person that likes dinosaurs and books

A True Classic. Jurassic Park is truly a classic. It’s responsible for one of the best movie series. The book is so fun to read and has lots of interesting differences from the movie adaptation.

A great read. It kept me intrigued and interested during the entire book.

Easy adventure book reading. Huge fan of Jurassic Park/Jurassic World movies & just wanted to read how it all started & even though the book & movie have different scenarios, it’s still a great summer time read.

Great Read. I am not an expert reader… (as an example) Tolkien was too complicated for me to finish his works. This on the other hand was magically written and not overwhelming at all. I’d recommend to anyone looking for an exciting read, arguable much better than the Movie.

Awesome. This is the best book ever! It's fast moving, scary, well thought out, and just a great read! You will love this book. Even if your not into dinosaurs, you will absolutely love this book. One of Michael's best books ever.

Awesome!. I love Jurassic Park, it is so awesome!!!! I really want to read the The Lost World!

Recommended!. If you loved the movie, i highly recommend this book. It is told in a different and more interesting way. loved this book. GET IT!

Great book. The book is great and it leaves suspense, action, entertainment and its all I love about a book

Jurassic park. When the sequel is as good as the first one, you know you're a good author. And Jurassic park and the lost world are no exception.

Love it. I love this book. It is such a great book

Jurassic park. A book filled with a lot of action, it was truly amazing. I was thinking about it every night wondering about how the rest of the book will turn out. Do not keep looking, this book is destined for you. Even if you are not into dinosaurs, this book can still be very exciting
