1/2 a book!. This appears to be the first half of a full story; similar to a television series ending a season with the cliff hanger designed to have views tune in for the next season's premier episode. The story is a typical Jeffrey Archer tale; most enjoyable reading. It is rated with only three stars because it appears the story appears to be only 1/2 way complete. Hopefully, Mr. Archer will garner the remaining 2 stars in his "next episode" of this story; and the next episode actually has an ending that comes to some degree of closure regarding the various cast of characters.

Best Kept Secret. I'm a big fan of Jeffery Archer. However, while this book is very well written, it is the first time I have been disappointed with the ending. It just felt rushed and the timing was inappropriate in my opinion. I write short stories for my family and friends and I'm known to do exactly what he did at the end. The difference is that my stories are chapters and the reader knows the suspenseful ending is coming in the next chapter. As an ending to a book, even though its a series, I feel it could and should have been better thought out. Will I buy the next one? Yes but reluctantly.

No bows in archer's quiver. Same old same old Archer predictable intrigues evil doers who keep turn up to try to ruin the heroes - breathless cliff hangers trite trite trite Boring stuff dropped with enough trivia of the period to suggest he paid someone to do some research

When does the next one come out?. I only wish I hadn't read this one so fast. I've never been disappointed in any of Jeffery Archers books, and this one is no different.

Awesome. This is yet another JA thriller. Terrific character development and historical detail. Yes, the storyline is somewhat redundant to the previous installments, but this is still a great, enjoyable read. Can't wait for the next one!

Best Kept Secret. Like the the story but hated the ending! Which son died? Did not want to see Sebastian killed. Left me hanging with too many questions. Will there be a follow up book?

Fluff. As are the previous in the series, this is a bit of entertaining written fluff with which to pass the time. The improbable plots, behavors of the cartoon depth characters, and the gross liberties with history and even reality, left this reader wondering if any editor or fact checking research was attempted. Simple details, like how military letters are signed, color blind genetics, origins of slang phrases, etc. etc put a damper on what could have been, with a bit more effort, a tale worth telling. If such is not a peeve, and nothing of the people places and times is taken as believable, a long storyline will keep you reading and reading.

Fair and predictable. After reading the first two books in the series this book was highly disappointing. There were too many story lines that were never fully developed. The ending was highly predictable.

Not the best. Too many plot twists that didn't make sense. Lazy editing. This is just something to read if you have absolutely nothing better on the shelf. Disappointing.

Best Kept Secret. I have read every book written by Jeffrey Archer. This book had its magic touch and was good but not his best. The ending was totally abrupt and unacceptable. I'm sure there must be another book in the making. Let's hope that the kid who actually dies in the car accident is not the one we are led to believe perishes. Based on the title of this book, I now know that the ending makes sense: Best Kept Secret!

Book is a Best Kept Secret. After getting through the tiresome intro, the author writes three fairly interesting storylines. After getting the readers involved, he abruptly ends the book with nothing. Worst book I’ve ever read...

Major League Disappointment!. I have not read a book by Jeffrey Archer in many, many years and for good reasons. However, I decided to take the plunge and purchase Best Kept Secret because way back when I enjoyed some of his books immensely. Well, this is the last time I will allow Mr. Archer to fool me. It was long, boring, predictable, and the ending was a big zero. Definitely not worth the money I spent on this iBook. Mr. Archer can I get a refund? And you might want to do some major rewrites before the next run, if there is one. An ex fan.

Another hit. The only things wrong, are the high price for an e book and the cliff hanger ending.

Best Kept Secret. I used to be a buyer for a book company. When I met Jeffrey Archer I read Kane and loved it. When I met him at a book convention he gave us When the Crow Flies. I used to get advanced copies. Since this book is not coming out till March 2013 I could be dead by then. Hoe do you rate a book when you cannot read it .

Only Time Will Tell. I sure hope there is a sequel to this story. Based on what I had read this was to be a trilogy. I have not been able to find out if there is going to be a next on the Clifton's story.

Meh- ok. Took a long time to get through this one. I think the author got tired of writing as well. Umm is there a fourth book, or is that really how this series ends?

The Best Kept Secret. I certainly hope there are more books in this series otherwise, reviewing this book as the last of a series, I would have to give it an extremely negative review. I have enjoyed all of Archer's books but this one has truly turned me off. It was like playing a cruel joke to publish this book with such an ending.
