Loved it!. Was looking for some new authors to read. Saw this & two other books by this author as a free download. I finished this book in essentially one day. I loved it. It is everything I like about a book. It is easy to read, moves along nicely, gives just the right amount of detail, & has my type of humor. I have now become a fan of this series & author. Have already recommended this book to friends.

A fun read. Well written and full of Southern humor. I liked the story and the believable characters.

Loved this book about small towns and strong women. I really enjoyed this story!!! It was full of excitement and new wonders after every turn! Time to read book 2. Strong women help each other even if they don’t know all the facts!

Entertaining read. Craziness in the Louisiana bayou.

A fun cozy. This is a fun run through the Louisiana bayou. Slightly more complicated than most cozy mysteries, the characters are what make it memorable. The setting of a small town in Louisiana could have been played up more and could have added more to the story. Like most cozies the small town setting makes murder seem out of place and more jarring than homicide in the big city. In spite of these small concerns, this is a fun story with a unusual ending. At least once there was a “I know who did it and there’s no reason to keep reading “moment followed by a “boy was I wrong! “ I love it when that happens – it is so great when an author keeps you guessing until the end.

Love these Ladies. I don’t think I have ever done a book review before, but for this series I really felt I must. I think I am on book 10 now and absolutely LOVE these characters. I seriously laugh out loud multiple times a book and can’t wait to see what these crazy ladies will get into next. If you like a mystery with a lot of humor thrown in, you will LOVE these books!!

Strong women/Great story. An enjoyable story with many “laugh out loud” moments. Development of the characters was great and I appreciated the fact that there were so many strong women characters in this book. Highly recommend this author!

Excellent!!. Jana DeLeon is my favorite writer. I’ve read most of the Mother in Law series, I find myself laughing so hard. She doesn’t skimp on the mystery part either, and I am hooked on anything she writes. Big fan excellent author!

I laughed out loud. I LOVED THIS BOOK. Laughed out loud at the situations that Fortune got into, especially around the deputy. If you want a story that is clean, funny, and will keep you guessing this is it.

Really fun read:). This was a great story. The descriptive writing seemed to represent the lifestyle and flavour of bayou living and the characters were easy to relate to. The intense intrigue from the mystery surrounding the land inheritance was well balanced by the hilarious rompings of the ghostly mother in law. Well worth reading! I'm just off to buy the next ones in the series:)

Y’know what’s Sinful? Not leaving a review :). I place this delightful read in the Rose Gardener/ Addison Holmes camp. The protagonist, Fortune is easy to read along with on her escapades. Add a man candy, and island named No. 2- hahaha, a GSOH, bad guys and two Sinful dames w brains (bless ‘em) and you have a neat & tidy sleuthing adventure in the Deep South. I am more than biased towards Rose Gardener and Addison Holmes respectively, but this Miss Fortune series will hopefully join them on the top three podium.

Light and fun read. She has a cheeky, humorous writing style. Reminds me of Carl Hiassen. Written in first person, this is really fun for male readers.

Fabulous book. I thoroughly enjoyed this Jana Deleon book too. A new host of characters, and I do mean characters .... A new heroine and a new town. Great recipe for another top notch read. I have already bought and started the 2nd in the Fortune Redding Series. I will read them all. Great job Jana. You're a terrific author.

Funny & entertaining. I found this book to be very funny, entertaining and a light read. I will definitely reading the remaining book in the series. All I will say is I wish I had grandmothers like the sinful ladies!

The story flows very well and as the pages dwindle one only hopes that this is the beginning of a series as I never wanted the story, or its characters, to stop. A FANTASTIC DELIGHT TO READ ! I recommend it to all who love adventure, mystery, and a good laugh as the story unfolds. A talented and skilful author whose work I would love to read more of.
