I loved it!. It was a wonderful book. I am excited to read the novella and sequel! It is a cross between the hunger games and divergent. Two of my favorite series of all time. It kept me interested the entire time, and made me cry at the end. Read it!

Best Book I've read In 2014. When I picked this book up off of the book of the week, I didn't expect it to be this good. It's storyline keeps you on edge, each chapter rounding an corner leading to unseen events. 100% suspenseful, I couldn't see how it would end. Otherwise, The Darkest Minds shows how quickly friendships are made and tested, how love always finds a way, and how far someone will go to protect them self from becoming the demon they fear then can be

???. Does anybody talk about Clancy here. The movie made him look pathetic. But in my opinion, Clancy was a ground breaking character. Keep reading the series you’ll understand why I think that.

Disapointed. I loved this book, I really did. Every last detail. Until the last few pages. It was bad enough for me to regret reading the entire book. I felt like the author opened up a door to her vast beautiful world, and with the last few pages slamed it right in my face. I have no interest whatsoever in continuing to read this series, I feel like the author doesn't want me to anyways. I advise that if you are faint at heart, even in the slightest bit, do NOT read this book.

I could not put this book down!!. When I first got this book I thought it would be a typical type of dystopian YA book, but I got so immersed in the story and characters that I would read at the minimum 100 pages each night until I couldn't stay awake! Alexandra Bracken keep doing what you do best!!!

Best book!!. I started it a 7pm and was still reading it at 2am! I was mad cause I was only half way done. A pleasant surprise because I can read the thickest Harry Potter from cover to cover in a few hours. Highly recommend. Great for 11-12+

Forever a favorite. I am absolutely in love with this trilogy, the characters are beautiful, the concept is amazing and the moral of the story is one of the most inspirational ideas I have ever heard. I read the first one when I was in the eighth grade and haven't looked back since. I just reread this story and fell in love with it all over again. You can't help but feel all of the emotions Ruby feels and it's incredible. The way it was written is absolutely great,this is a book everyone should read at least once in their life.

Great start. Very pleasant surprise. Usually, young adult books adapted to movies can lose their luster, but happy to say that doesn’t happen here. Intense, intriguing plot, very compelling characters, very well written descriptions of scenes as well as fantastic, natural dialogue all within a brutal, uncompromising and terrifying dystopian world. Some minor pacing problems in the middle section aside, I am very pleased. Although, that being said, if you are at all uncomfortable with crimes towards minors, avoid this book. That’s not a criticism whatsoever, but just saying, this book is not for the faint of heart to say the least.

Good read. I thought this was a great story, but unfortunately it had way too many spelling and grammar errors for me to give it 5 starts or even consider spending $7.99 on the next book.

Darkest Minds is Amazing. This book pulled me in from the start. It connects you to the main character throughout the entire book. You never stop rooting for Ruby and her friends or despising the corrupt, evil system that put them there.

The best book I have ever read. This book is literally the best book I have ever read!!! First let me say this book falls under my genre. To elaborate I have read The twilight series, divergent series, the hunger games series, the immortal instruments series, and The immortal devices series, and more. This book by far is the best yet!!!! I mean I read this approx. 488 page book in about a week. What makes it strong is its ability to balance a cliche, predictable fever with an element of surprise. Also, it has a good mix of Romance, action, and comedy, which gives it an amazing flavor. Even though it may have the same Ora as other books in its genre, it is definitely not the same as the others and doesn't make me feel like I have read this book before. Another thing I must mention is her imagery, diction, and literary power overall. Her word choice makes you feel like you are actually living the story. I hate long reviews, so I will come to a close but I must say best book Eva!

Omg I loved this series❣️. These books were so good!!! I just loved how the whole thing was put together and how Ruby was always in the action!!! Of course I was cheering for her and Liam throughout the whole series. I watched the movie and a few things were different but that’s how it always is with movies based off of books. And they picked the best actress for Ruby, too. Honestly though, after she was in Everything, Everything, I never would have imagined Amandla Stenburg being in The Darkest Minds. But was awesome y’all should totally see it. And I can’t wait for Never Fade to come out in the theaters!!! But yea back to the book, if u like action, this book is definitely for u!! The Darkest Minds Never Fade In the Afterlight is one of my most favorite series!!! P.s. those who read this book and didn’t like the ending, I didn’t either, but I read the next book and things got a lot better. So just read the next book. Plz. U won’t regret it.

Amazing. I really loved this book! It's the normal genre of dystopian YA I read, but done so incredibly well, it sets itself apart. It's like having an incredible meal, and then finishing with the perfect dessert. There isn't one thing that stands out as better than the rest--you just remember every part as perfect and almost decadent. Can not wait for the rest of the series!!

AMAZING !! ❤️. My name is also Ruby and I thought this book would be boring but I was wrong ! It's so interesting and I'm telling you one day this will become a movie ! Bracken has blown my mind . 💕 Her writing and creativity is genuine .

Cliches and tropes abound. The first couple chapters instantly hooked me, but then things got progressively more cliche, and the dialogue was near terrible...not to mention the main character became a complete blubbering idiot anytime she was around a cute boy *sigh*. It was a quick read but mostly I just wanted it to be over.

This book is evil.. I love the book. Alexandria Bracken is my new favorite author. But the way the book ends.. It's evil. I've been crying for 2 hours now. If you don't want to cry, don't get this book. I'm still crying. This book is such a sweet evil, it draws you in with the storyline, the best characters, the best love story and story if friendship, But it's evil. The ending, God, why.

MUST READ!!!. I was skeptical about this book at first given the strange nature of the storyline, but I quickly grew to love the depth of the novel and the development of different characters. Ruby is a powerful and strong female-main in the book, striking an a weak tone in the beginning but later coming into herself. Anyone who loves recent dystopian fiction will love this book. Or anyone who likes romance that comes out of trauma and fear. Lol. It left me begging for more. I can’t wait to keep reading the next books and to enjoy the film adaptation that comes out this summer! :)

Eyes Opened. And Closed!. I absolutely devoured this book, read it in a matter of hours. I won’t say I’m patient, that would be lying, and I won’t say I’m big on reading, I hardly prioritize well. I will say one thing, though, I sat down with this book between my legs and as soon as I was introduced to the characters I accepted my fate. Finally, I was in the final chapter and my eyes were red because of my sheer effort to keep from blinking, lest I lose a fraction of a second god forbid. The ending, after digging in it’s heels and accelerating still to the finish, ended. So, here I am. I feel stolen from, but I love it. I see no other choice than to pick up the next in the series. That book made me feel so much, and like a roller coaster ride I am itching to hop on for the next ride Alexandra Bracken may have in store for me. She really has a way with words, I’ve never appreciated the delicacy of a phrase until she taught me. And now I know exactly what rabbits are thinking, sweet. p.s. I can’t wait for the movie

Mixed Feelings. This book chewed me up and spit me out like I was poison in it’s mouth. But I still love it. *BEWARE OF THE EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER

Worth the read. I’m going to be honest here- getting through the beginning of this book is a struggle. It is evident early on that Bracken’s writing has room for improvement, almost written as a mediocre fan fiction. However, as the story progresses, her writing becomes stronger and more compelling, causing a can’t-put-the-book-down sort of experience. By the time I was about a third of the way through, I was hooked and finished the remainder the next day. Each character has their own perfectly woven storyline, with both physical and emotional obstacles to overcome. Our protagonist, Ruby, is relatable despite her abilities, which are a cleverly written metaphor for so many fears that we face in real life. This book- along with the rest of the series- is absolutely worth the read, and I’m sure you’ll find yourself agreeing.

Amazing!. This book was so packed full of adventure and excitement I must have lost at least 10 hours of sleep reading it! There were times when the transitions weren’t the greatest, but the well put together plot more then made up for it. In The Darkest Minds, the characters came to life as they over came many difficult and diverse challenges. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun, exciting read!

Someone hold me!!!. I can't even begin to express my love for this book!! The whole time I read it I thought about what I would do in the characters position, and how it must have felt for Ruby. I read the first and second book in 3 days... And now I CANT WAIT to read the third book! I had to write an essay about any story and of course I choose this one right away! The plot is heartbreaking, the characters are genius- which is a recipe for success!! Anddddd let me mention the flawless Liam <3 <3 <3 CAN I MARRY HIM?! I just love him so much, he's so passionate and wise! He brings out my inner fangirl!

Really good book. I loved this book. I recently watched the movie before I realized there was a book for it. I probably should have read the book first, but it was still really fun and enjoyable to read. The only part I didn’t like was the ending, but I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the series and find out what happens!
