my forever favorite. i first read this book in 2017, and have returned to it thousands of times since then. i can say with no hesitation that this book (and its accompanying series and spinoffs) is my favorite of all time. before reading, i expected yet another free cheesy romance, with a boring and prudish protagonist, minimal supporting characters, and a super cocky and intimidating love interest. what i got was lightyears beyond my expectations. The Boys of Summer is a beautifully crafted story that perfectly encapsulates the bubbly feeling of a teenage crush, the boundless freedom and possibility of summertime and new privileges, as well as the realistic lows that complement any positive human experience. you will fall in LOVE with Tess, Ellie, Adam, and the Onslow boys, i assure you. i can never get enough of them, and they are written so well that i can only wish to meet a group of people like them. i STRONGLY recommend following this book up with the rest of the series. i was hesitant at first, as i have had experiences where the sequels jump the shark and ruin my perception of the series — that is definitely not the case here. each book builds my appreciation for the series, and my lov for the characters. in conclusion, BUY THE FREAKING BOOK! you will not regret it :) thank you c.j. duggan!

A great summer romance story!. This story was about an insecure teenager that seems to bloom over the summer after meeting a rowdy group of young men. There's love, humor, and drama, what else can you ask for? Besides the few sexual events I enjoyed this book very much and I could not put it down. the bottom line, READ THIS BOOK!

The boys of summer series. I truly love these series. The dipper you get into the books the better they get. I fell in love with the first book thinking the next ones won’t be as good because usually they aren’t but I was so wrong everyone of them are so great. They just have something special about them that want you to be like “ Man! I want this to happen during my summer !!” I simply love these books and the author is such an amazing writing I love their work.

My New Favorite. This book is amazing and my new favorite book. I hate reading but I read this 900 paged book in 1 day.

Really great book!,. This is full length book and it and amazing story. The characters are very well developed and the plot is very original and fully carried out. Recommend as a boom to read when your looking for a pick me up. Not to graphic that would make you feel over done and very funny and witty.

BORING!!!!. I started the book out with a lot of interest but as it wore on, I got so bored. It was easier to skip around than to actually read it. I knew what would happen in the end anyway so... no huge loss.

The Boys of Summer from The Bookmark Blog. Tess has had it with high school boys. She spent the last year being referred to as Tic Tac Tess, and it wasn't meant in a nice way. At all. Her two best friends convince her to take a summer job at the Onslow Hotel waiting tables. The first day in walks the Onslow Boys, at least that is what her best friend calls them and it seems to fit. And among them is Toby Morrison, the guy that Tess has had a crush on for years. Somehow Tess finds her summer spent hanging out with the Onslow boys. It leads to stolen kisses and flirting and a great summer. And maybe a little more with Toby. Definately a summer she will always remember.

A sweet teen romance rated PG.. Some parts were boring. Skimmed thru some to read mostly about Tess and Toby. Well boys will be boys. Sounds like a fun summer. If guys and girls just learn to say what they want then they could avoid all the game playing. Not sure a twenty-two year old would dump his girlfriend to date a seventeen year old, but whatever, not my story to tell. I guess the lesson learned is to be honest and establish the relationship openly. Had Toby made himself clear that him and Tess from this point forward were exclusive then Tess could have eased her insecurities about where she stood with Toby. It was a sweet teen romance. Wish this was around to read when I was a teenager.

Great read. I rarely write reviews but this book was such an easy read that kept you hooked. I found myself almost skipping paragraphs to figure out the outcome of some situations! I told almost all of my friends about this book... I highly recommend everyone to read this. I wouldn't mind this becoming a film either!! Strangely this book is relatable and I can see it becoming a movie in every theater. Anyways, if you don't know if you should read it, definitely should! Awesome.

Best book ever!. First off, I wanted to say thank you to the author for writing an inspiring and most captivating book! As a 16 year old girl in 11th grade, I have related, cherished, enjoyed, and loved every second I have spent reading this book. It has made me laugh, cry, cringe, feel love and stood on ends to read such a perfection. (from a girl who is much like Tess and has lived vicariously through this book!) One can only dream to find the love that Tess and Toby share. I can only say that I relish the fact that I finished this book. But as they say,"All good things must come to an end!" ( except love!) Believe me when I say that this is the best book I have red or will ever read in my lifetime! And with that I am off to read the next book in this series!

Adorable Read. This was an amusing cute read that I liked more than I thought I would. The storyline and characters everything fell together very nicely, I enjoyed the interactions with all the characters not such a long one voice monologue. Would of appreciated different points of views, hearing from the other characters but this book was so nicely done that it didn't bother me for I loved the epic reveals that are placed perfectly throughout to keep the reader on edge. The concept is adorable, summer love, first job and such; getting the emotions all rallied up for the adventure. The male lead is handsome sounding would of liked to hear from his side more to gage his reactions and thoughts for a more better understanding of who he was, the female lead was crazy obsessive and represents every 17 year old that's gone through that awkward stage of life at that age but with more flare. The supporting characters were awesome they had the enough voice time that they weren't forgotten giving the reader an impression of who they are.

For good coming of age. I really enjoyed this book. The author did a wonderful job of capturing the turning point for the main character. It was truly reminiscent of the love/angst filled summers of my youth!

Favourite Reads. I have read this series over and over again. Every time I read them I'm transported to the story, imagining myself within the book itself. I do struggle to restrict myself from reading all through the night and day with these stories. Definitely recommend!

Amazing. This book was an amazing teenage romance! It wasn't corny at all and very well written. Unlike lot's of teenage ibooks, this book wasnt predictable and the story line was amazing! Reccomend to anyone that likes a bit of romance and a bit of drama!

Fantastic!. Ok, so I’m addicted to this series severely. This is number two for me and another fantastic instalment. I did things a little backwards and read That One Summer before this one, but it doesn’t matter at all. The way C.J. Duggan has written her fabulous series, you can pick up any book in whatever order you like without reading previous books. I love the Onslow gang and this book is where it all begins; where the name, Onslow Boys came from. The Boys of Summer is about Tess McGee and Toby Morrison. Tess McGee has had a crush on Toby Morrison since she was 13 years old. The older she gets the stronger the crush, he is getting hotter and hotter. Tess is now 17 and in Grade 11 at school, but is being bullied by her ex, Scott Miller. Tess is talked into working at the hotel over the summer with her best friends, Ellie and Adam. She’s not really looking forward to it because it is so far out of her comfort zone, but when Adam injures himself, Tess has no choice. Hopefully it will bring out her confidence and fun. Cute, Fluffy Read. Quick Thoughts: 1. Super cute summer read. 2. The characters were all really fun and entertaining. 3. The plot was predictable but the author threw some twists in to spice it up. 4. Very easy to read. 5. The plot was a lot more realistic than many other contemporary books. People make mistakes!

Nostalgia and giisebumps. What an absolutely beautiful book. The Boys of Summer is a story of love, friends, and coming of age. Its witty, clever and downright perfect. Toby and Tess are perfection. I can just picture the looks they try to sneak at one another while they long to be with each other. CJ has created a wonderful story fit for any age. This book gave me the feeling of being a teenager and in love again. That's something we all Long for. Vicariously living through the characters of the Onslow boys and Perry girls was exactly what I needed in a summer read. Don't miss this one. X

Love, love, loved it! this book I think gave me so much hope for the future and encouraged me to keep believing anything could happen, (since I'm "not old enough to know what love is" dads words not mine) and its ok to have these expectations, for it forms goals! Although the story line may have been moving, and heated at times🙈, I couldn't help but envy Tess a bit, for she broke out, experimented, accepted herself, and through her thrills and gloomsome days she ended up...happy and confident! overall, I highly recommend this book, especially to those teens who may be struggling in the confidence department, I'm sure you'll get something out of this book, enjoy!💕
