Should be titled “Vampire Sexual Assault 101”. Believe me I’m not a prude and love a hot steamy sex novel but this was straight up boring Vampire Sexual assault. Poorly written, no imagination, I can’t believe this made it to print.

Do not waste your time. I could not finish it. Research is sloppy, New Orleans research that is. Hard to keep up with, lacking important information during story and too much unimportant information. Did not like writing style at all! Btw the French quarter is always crowded, especially in the spring, author commented that their were no tourist around, laughable! And there are no building in the French quarter with a basement.....the building would float, hence the dead are buried above ground!

Weak. This book is poorly written and has a boring story line. Don't bother reading. It's a shame as it looked interesting.

Surprising. This book has a great plot, and very original story. It’s very in expected how the events play out if you are not aware of some of the New Orléans lore. However, I find that the beginning of the book could be developed a bit better as it is hard to follow at first. Also the romance between two of the characters seem off, but this may be set up for the sequel to reveal new things. Overall it’s an okay book if you looking for something unexpected!

Don't waste your time like I did.... I have no idea why this has 4 stars. The writing is horrid, it reads like a list: Skyla did this, Skyla does that, Skyla looks over, Skyla blah, blah, blah. The tense is all over the place and the there is the saddest attempt at flashbacks I have ever read. The sex scenes were nonexistent, they would go in the room, clothes would come off then the writer would add, "they spent the afternoon in bed," as though that is supposed to let you know what went down. The only reason I even downloaded the book was because it was stated that the story was based on true events. I have no idea what was true since none of it seemed plausible, maybe living in New York for a short stint, but the writer didn't even know that New York State is part of the New England States and the full lack of description everywhere else hinted that the writer has no idea about the places the protagonist goes to in the story. Don't waste time on this one, especially if you are looking for vampire romance like I was, there is no romance and no actual vampires. Energy vamps don't count in my book.

Weird. This book made me want to stop reading.. then I wanted to see what was going to happen.. at the end I should have stopped reading.

Double space. I'd normally give this free book a 4, but one of my pet peeves is double spaced books. You are essentially getting half the pages than stated (I can never keep track of word counts). It isn't so awful for free books, but once you start paying for them, it's a bit slimy "used car salesmen tactics" for me.

Underwhelming and disappointing. It was hard to keep up with which characters internal monologue you are reading. The book was a huge build up to... Nothing. I'm thankful it was a short and free book. I won't be bothering with the rest of the series.

Boring don’t waste your time. The story had no climax, had a bad story line, and was a waste of the reader and the writers time. This story also said “based on true events” but I wasn’t even sure what events were true and what events were fictional.

The Den Book #1 by Jennifer Abrahams. What an excellent journey to participate in with wonderful characters to keep you interested during the intriguing passage. It was a popcorn moment to savor a hot snack while being entertained reading into the early hours of the morning. KSW
