So much story, so small a book.... Such a great book... What a cliffhanger too....

Ending. Compelling read with a horrible ending that leaves the reader without enough resolution. Leaves me wishing I had not read the book and definitive on not reading the obvious sequel.

Superb, as always. Orson Scott Card has been my favorite Sci-Fi writer for years, so I'm not surprised that this title is as superb as all other titles in this world. I couldn't put it down!

Great part of a book. This is a great book, but don't bother reading it until the third one comes out; then plan to read the whole trilogy. The endings of these first two books are huge cliffhangers which will leave you as frustrated and annoyed as I am right now.

Enders Game for all early teens. Half a book! Earth Afire

Like a comic book. OSC's experience with comic book writing is starting to spill into his novels. Amazing depth of character and action, but the endings on his most recently published novels all have the worst cliff hangars I've ever experienced in a book. It's getting frustrating. Comic book style of writing works well because there's a relatively fast turn around, which encourages the reader to keep buying and reading. But it doesn't work so well in a book, for opposite reasons. Please OSC, if you read the comments that people post about your work, listen to what your fans are saying. Leave the comic book writing in comic books.

Loved It. Though I haven't read an Orson Scott Card book quite as good as Ender's Game, the Formic War books are also excellent. While reading the other Ender books, I always wondered what the Formic Wars were actually like, and Earth Unaware and Earth Afire satisfied my curiosity. I don't understand the people who say that Earth Afire is "incomplete" or has too much of a cliff hanger ending. Yes, there are huge cliff hangers, but it's not that big of a deal. Just buy the next book when it comes out! If you are a science fiction fan, I would definitely recommend this book, but make sure to read Earth Unaware first if you haven't already.

Earth Afire. It would get 5 stars but for the non-ending ending. My problem is I read all the Ender books almost 20 years ago and have given them away or they are in boxes stored 1300 miles away. Aaaaaarghh. For those unaware Earth Afire and Earth Afire are prequels. That is fine if you recently read those latter books or are soon to do so. I am not going to buy all the Ender books all over again...as much as I love your work Orson... These two books, a collaboration, nonetheless come with my hearty recommendation. Now perhaps Wikipedia will tell me what happened to the mother ship, Vico, Wit and the others. I'm pretty certain that Mazer makes it into the mythology of Ender's Game but the others?

One of the best by OSC. I've read all of theEnder/bean story's and a lot of his other work but this one is one of my favs love the ender books but they got a little crazier with each one I like victor and lem and the rest and to read about mazer in action worth every penny if you want a good read check out this book I'm about to read it again and gotta buy the paperback one too

GIVE ME MOOOOR. I want more of these books they're are alwase amazing, and if you haven't been able to read them find a away and do it these are amazing books and this one is no exception

Fantastic. OSC never fails, he did stop abruptly, be you saw it coming, there is another book coming to those who hate writers who leave you on a ledge( which is every writer ) great great story, I was hooked

Horrid ending. While the story and characters flow, the cliffhanger ending is ridiculous and unnecessary. Loyal OSC fans would naturally buy the sequel if he had not pulled this boner move! I for one will move on to greener pastures and another more considerate author.

Won't read it.... I loved several OCS novels. However the reviews of the HUGE CLIFF-HANGER ENDING and the fact that OSC DOESN'T SUPPORT EQUALITY FOR LGBT, has for the first time in my life, forced me to abandoned an author. I wish I new what a bigot he was in the first place, so I would have never read any of his books. DEEPLY SADDENED FORMER FAN

Earth Unaware. The prequal was pretty good. I listened to the audio version in 2012 and once this comes to audio, I will be listening to it. I suspect this book will be as great as the last one.

Poor writing. This was a horrible read, To much drama between charters and not enlighten storyline. The ending was anticlimactic. It just stopped

Humming. The story keeps moving. Makes you want to immediately move on to the next one.

Greatness. Really great intelligent read, deeply developed characters and a wonderful backstory for Enders game. This is the second book in the formic wars series, a prequel to Enders game. This book in my opinion was much better than earth unaware, simply because there was much more action and suspenseful moments, because most of the main characters were pre developed from the previous book. Leaves you on a cliffhanger that makes you want to scream for the next one.

Earth Incomplete. A great book and a great series, if only he would finish it.

Earth afire. Hate the ending

Disappointing. This is a deeply flawed book. It's a quick read, and contains some interesting foreshadowing of Ender's Game. There are also a couple well-developed characters, particularly Lem Jukes. Unfortunately, however, the grammar is clumsy, the diction befits a high school essay, and the typos are just inexcusable for a book that was ostensibly reviewed by an editor. All that would be tolerable if the narrative didn't lurch from one tied cliche to another, culminating in an anticlimax that sets up a totally unnecessary third book. I loved Ender's Game and its first few sequels. That makes this book especially disappointing. There are some fun chapters here, but I was left with embarrassment for having read something so mediocre.
