Eleven by Carolyn Arnold Book Summary

“Silence of the Lambs, move over. Eleven is an absolutely stunning performance.” – Goodreads reviewer, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
In this international bestseller, rookie FBI Agent Brandon Fisher takes on his first case with the Behavioral Analysis Unit, but will he survive long enough to catch the killer? Eleven is a fast-paced, spine-tingling thriller that will have you gasping for breath at every twist…
Eleven Rooms. Ten Bodies. One Empty Grave.
When Brandon Fisher joined the FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit, he knew he’d come up against psychopaths, sociopaths, pathological liars, and more. But when his first case takes him and the team to Salt Lick, Kentucky, to hunt down a ritualistic serial killer, he learns what nightmares are truly made of.
Beneath a residential property, local law enforcement discovered an underground bunker with circular graves that house the remains of ten victims. But that’s not all: there’s an empty eleventh grave, just waiting for a corpse. The killing clearly hasn’t come to an end yet, and with the property owner already behind bars, Brandon is certain there’s an apprentice who roams free.
As the FBI follows the evidence across the United States, Brandon starts to struggle with the deranged nature of his job description. And if the case itself isn’t going to be enough to push Brandon over the edge, he’s working in the shadow of Supervisory Special Agent Jack Harper, who expects nothing short of perfection from his team. To make matters even worse, it seems Brandon has become the target of a psychotic serial killer who wants to make him—or his wife—victim number eleven.

Interesting read with a twist!. Thanks for the fun free read! Just when you think you've got the unsub figured out, another twist. Well written with only a few minor typos.... Thanks again!~

Eleven. This story had some potential, but frankly, the writing is so horrible that it ruins it. Toggling back and forth between the first and third persons is bad enough but the transitions aren't even smooth. The style is so choppy that it's difficult at times to tell which of the characters is speaking. Also an incredibly implausible story for anyone even vaguely familiar with law enforcement techniques and terminology. An agent fresh out of the academy would never be assigned to an elite team like the one described in this book. Also, constant use of the term "unsub" is enough to make you gag. Very poorly written.

Eleven. Omg great mystery....loved it.

Eleven. A quick moving mystery filled with some interesting twists.

A very good read. The author kept my interest until the very end of the book. I found it fascinating. I very much recommend it. The characters are relatable and I like that there is not too much detail about them. It’s just enough to keep the story going.

Great Read!. If you do not like cliff hanging by your fingernails, you may not like this one! I had to force myself to go to bed at night so I could continue reading the next day👍👍👍

Skamn. Good

Good book. The book was written nicely and kept you interested. Enjoy

Eleven. Very interesting story. Enjoyed the characters and the twists.

Couldn’t stop reading. Probably the best book out of several hundred I’ve read over the last couple of years. I really couldn’t stop reading. I could go on and on but I think the first sentence says it all.

Eleven. I know a book is good when I'm sad it ends. I am very sad! What a good book! Fast paced, made me think, even made me use the dictionary a few times! Looking forward to more of this author!

Eleven. One thing after another Great read. But why did leave out the video tape from the pawn shop that would have shown who took the evidence and exonerated the agent?? Hmmmmmm

Eleven. Excellent plot and characters. Kept the reader interested while trying to figure out the murderer. Looking forward to the second book in the series.

Eleven. Great book the chapters went fast the characters were easy to follow. I really enjoyed the book! Thanks k

Fire. y’all must read this crazy ish, boy was up all night chugging through them pages!!! like dog i knew people we’re crazy an all that but dog...that ish crazy dog read it dawgy trons

Eleven. A good compelling read. Reminded me of a script from Criminal Minds. Had to keep reading.

Gripping.... What a great read! The way the story unwinds and opens into a devilish tale was a wonderful way to spend a few hours.

Love!!!. I LOVED this book! Well written, well paced, kept me guessing, and I kept wanting to know what was about to happen! My only issue was the focus on Brandon’s relationships really. I felt like it was a little much maybe. But overall this was definitely a favorite book of mine!

Page turner with surprise ending. Realistic page turner. Keeps you on the edge of your seat and unable to put the book down at a chapter’s last page.

Perfect 10 for Eleven!. Excellent read. Couldn't put it down. Thrilling, captivating and on the edge of your seat until the end.

Eleven. Well written. Kept my attention to the very end. Enjoyed the read. Highly recommend.

Great!. Absolutely amazing read!

Amazing. Loved it

I have yet to finish. Great concept. Writing is dry. And frankly if like to punch the characters in the face....

Eleven. Had me on the the edge and guessing who was the bad guy till the end. Lab to read the rest of her books.

Eleven. Great characters and plot. A real page turner!

Eleven. Got lost in the beginning, but once it picked up it reminded me of "Criminal Minds".

Good plot, extremely unlikable characters. Ok, I'll start by saying that the plot of the story was pretty good. But the book was populated by such a miserable cast of characters that I had to force myself to continue reading. The main character is a man who cheats on his wife, but gets all sad and mopey when she ditches him. The boss is a total jerk with no redeeming qualities at all.The only woman on the team is a little slut who screws married men, and then has the nerve to call the *wife* the "other woman.". The only gay people in the book were a serial killer's apprentice and a twisted caricature of a submissive. The plot is good enough that I still think the book deserves three stars, even with the unpleasant characters.

Eleven. Really enjoyed the book. Can’t wait to read the next book by this author!

Good read. This was a good read, and I’m glad I started with the first book in the series without even knowing it. Now I’m ready to read more.

Eleven. Hard to put down!!!!!

Page turner!!. I really enjoyed this book! It keeps you on the edge and wanting more! I look forward to reading the next book in this series!

Eleven by: Carolyn Arnold. A suspenseful & intriguing story with characters that are easy to visualize and easily feel like you can see them in your mind. You are virtually emerged into watching a great movie that you wished wouldn't end so soon. More popcorn please KSW

Non Stop. The best review that I can give is that I couldn't stop reading this book. This definitely fits here.

Intriguing. Brandon Fisher of the FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit is on his very first case. An underground tunnels with eleven rooms, and ten bodies was found that goes back many years. The suspected killer is already in prison so who committed the newest murder. A fascinating story that keeps you intrigued, and turning the pages. You follow Brandon in all the trials he goes through being a new FBI Agent. A great beginning to a great new series.

Awesome story. Got to love all of the characters immediately. Not from a police background but it was all too real and the creep factor was off the charts.

Eleven. Excellent! Multiple protagonists and lots of possibilities presented to discover the culprit. Infiltrates the minds of both the FBI and the killers.

Wow!. Kept me up at night to finish. Well written and tightly edited!

Intense!. Really exciting story. I had difficulty finishing the last 40 pages because it was so intense.

Woody. This has it all: wooden plot, wooden characters, wooden dialogue.

Eleven. This book was great! I could barley put it down as I couldn’t wait to read what would happen next.

Fantastic!. Couldn't put it down

Great Read. Kept me on edge of my seat from start to finish!

Excellent.. Intense, riveting, engrossing. Very engaging plot, with excellent character development including realistic, believable self-talk from the main character. You'll be glad you decided to read this one. Enjoy!

Suspenseful quick read. Twist and turns keep you reading. Good character buildup makes you want it to turn out okay. Intriguing serial killer behavior.

Intriguing. I couldn’t read it all in one sitting, with normal day to day events interfering but I couldn’t wait to get home to read more and finish it. Geez this was an awesome story line and the characters gripping. Great Read!

Catching a serial killer takes a team. The FBI has its work cut out for it when it comes up against a criminal who they know is a serial killer, but need to prove it an find who is helping him to prevent more ghastly murders. This is a gripping story that won’t let go of you until the end, complete with true-to-life characters and realistic portrayals of police life.

Eleven. Unfortunately I found it difficult to relate to the protagonists in this book, fed up with the whinging and incredibly bored throughout.

Very unlikeable main character. Sounded good but the plot is implausible and the “hero“ is a real whiner who spends a lot of time complaining about the fact that his new boss won’t call him by name. The villain threatens his wife and our hero goes into meltdown with panic saying how much he loves her. Shortly after, his wife says she is leaving him. He shows no further concern for her and spends the rest of the book hopping into bed with his colleague. Probably the most unsympathetic character I have come across for some time. I certainly don’t care to find out how he goes on in future books

Intense and gripping. If you are looking for a great crime novel then honestly look no further, the way the author has captured the essence of the crime and laid it out through the chapters perfectly had me glued to this book. Packed with many different levels of emotions displayed by the characters in this book I am left thinking why hasn’t this book been converted into a television series is beyond me. Thank for such a wonderful story, I definitely will be taking a look at the others.

Gripping. I couldn't put this down, multiple, torturous murders, more than one killer to find, the Redeemer(s) are terrifying and psychopathic. A new FBI agent joins an established team to solve the case and prevent the last murder from happening. The author leads the reader skilfully from start to finish. A most gripping and satisfying read.

Monotonous. Too many chapters and quite repetitive in places. I stuck with it,but wanted to give up so many times. Overall a difficult read. I read quite a lot of these type of books, but this one I found monotonous.

Gripping story!. With enough twists and turns to keep you guessing!

Eleven. This book draws you in from the start. You know who the killer is, but , do you know who the other one is? Great book, I look forward to reading more of Carolyn Arnold’s books.

Riveting read. Great story and characters, well written, I’m hooked! Highly recommended.

A good story. This is certainly a promising start, and I will try the next Brandon Fisher book. One irritating thing was that every minor character seemed to stutter. It was very odd and unnecessary.

Eleven. Great read kept me reading continually. Good story line.

Eleven. FBI comes across as Keystone Cops at times. Good for laughs but distracts from a fair plot.

Eleven. - Excellent reading !. I loved reading this book ! The action, the realism, the plot, everything even the research on police procedural was all astounding. Excellent writing and a book worthy of much acclaim ! You won't be able to put this book down whatsoever !!!!!

Worthy. Disturbing, emotional, and intelligent.

Eleven. All this wasted focus on a character’s cigarette. Maybe mention it a several times, but it became this obsession and blocked out good plot and the filling out of other characters. What a waste of detail. It has made me not trust the writer and I do not want to read any other novels of his.

Loved from the start to finish. This is the kind of book that makes you call in sick to work so you can keep reading to the end. Great characters, great plot, great read.
