The Cost of Respect. Colton and his K-9 partner Dig Dug have been together for the past four years. He has a secret he has been hiding from everyone that blows up in front of his fellow officers at the precinct. Penny is filling in as the secretary for the K-9 unit while Ashley is on her honeymoon for a month. She ran from her abusive ex only he found her and things go bad real fast. The storyline was well written and draws you in from start to finish. The characters are fantastic and you can't help to love how Colton wants to protect Penny. The things he is willing to do to help bring down The Sling was amazing.

There’s a lot going on in this book. Wow. There’s a lot going on in this book. I don’t want to give any of it away, because I think it’s all important to be revealed as it is in the story. Colton’s backstory is not at all what I imagined, but he himself is everything I could hope for from a protective alpha police officer. Penny’s story broke my heart, and I loved that she was able to find strength through adversity and come out the other side a survivor. I particularly liked the twist that Colton applied to get new evidence against The Sling, and I can’t wait to see where this will lead the detectives. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.

I loved it!. This is the seventh book in the K-9 Protection Romance series. I love this series. Colton and Penny's story is well written. Colton, a sexy billionaire, is very protective and supportive. Penny is shy, beautiful, and smart. She had a heartbreaking past, and she escaped from an abusive ex. She definitely is a strong survivor. They are opposites attract, and they are perfect together. They are both interesting characters. Their story is filled with secrets and twists and turns. There is a lot going on in this story. I liked the intrigue, the suspense, and the romance. This is a series of interconnected stories, and I can't wait for the next in the series.
