Sally's deep love of the children and fear that their father might marry an unfeeling stepmother that prompt Sally to agree George's proposal. Even though it will be unbearable living under the roof of the man she loves and knowing she can never have him.

Take This Lord. A wonderful tale of tragedy overcome by love. The characters are wonderfully developed. Heart warming and love trumps all.

Fun!. This story is like a box of chocolates: sweet, enjoyable and each character is different but good.
Almost Five Stars. "To Take This Lord" was everything I enjoy in a historical romance. The plot, the characters, the sensuality are all examples of an accomplished writer. My only criticism is how it ended. Abruptly. What happened when George & Sally returned to Bath? Did Betsy Johnson get what she deserved? This novel was almost a 5 star.
