The series that started it all for me. I can’t even begin to express how excited I was when I found this first book in the series. I love the supernatural touch to Rose’s character. I also love the balance of suspense and down-home feeling. I have read this book twice now and all of the subsequent books in the series. Now a DGS fan for life!

Every chapter draws you in, in a page turning suspense that you can’t put down. Back in 2014 I was going through a divorce and needed some type of romance/ suspense to take my mind away from the turmoil of my broken heart. I found 28 and 1/2 wishes. Honestly, I only downloaded it because it was free, and I had no idea what I was in for. Buckle up because you’re in for a wild ride. Denise has a way of pulling the reader into the story where your soul is aching for more. This series features a strong female lead who grows with each book. There’s a little bit of mystery, a whole lot of suspense mixed in with a little romance, and a dash of criminal activity that tugs on your heart strings. I never want the Rose books to end. Denise, take all my money!

Great!. I could barely put the book down to sleep last night! The characters are so "alive". I hope that the author reads this, I want her to know how much I enjoyed this book.

LOOVVVEEE THIS BOOK. My close friends mother actually recommended this book to me and you know I'm used to people showing me books and some times them not being good. So I was okay, I also went with her to meet to author and Denise is super sweet and nice, I loved her. But I had my face stuck in my phone reading this book through out penned con. The more I got into the book the more I just loved the characters and got into it and was super excited to read the next one. I highly recommend anyone who loves romance and mystery to read this book. The romance is incredibly refreshing and it blossoms beautifully. I highly recommend it.

Thrilling!. Rose is an ordinary person, working in a mundane job, when her life suddenly changes. From the first paragraph, I knew I wanted to read more. I was on the edge of my seat at times and just when I thought I had something figured out, there was an unexpected twist that took me by surprise. This is honestly one of the best books I have ever read and I am so excited that I stumbled into the series.

Cry baby. Cute enough story and good editing but omg ! how much crying can a girl do and still keep the interest of the story hero? Think about it ..... red face, swollen eyes, snot! Way too much.

I saw that coming...oh wait never mind. I was so happy to see the direction of the book. I worried initially that the main character would turn out to be a certain way, but who actually showed up was a totally relatable, enjoyable and AWESOME character. Every time I saw something coming, I was wrong and I'm actually (for once) happy about it. I can't wait to read book 2!

Cute, light, romance mystery!. This book was free on iTunes and I thought it looked good so I took a chance. Wow, wow, wow, I am SO glad I did! I am hooked on Rose and Denise Grover Swank!! I love the all the characters, their stories, and their mysteries. I love how the author writes in a way that just makes the pages come to life. I love that the story had blood and gore and murder but was still light-hearted and cute! I loved the romance. I love that it’s a little far-fetched but still incredibly relatable. I just LOVED this book!!

Weird. I still don’t know what the point of the story was...I mean it had me reading through it quick because I wanted to know what happened, but I feel like I never got an answer as to why it happened. Very random.

Rose Gardner Series. This series is amazing! I could never put the book down!

A Great series starter. Twenty-eight and a half wishes introduces us to Rose Gardner and her world. We meet a Rose that has been beaten down by life. At just 24 years of age, Rose has resigned herself to the fact that she will never have a life. Stuck in a dead end job, living and taking care of an abusive mother, Rose has no life, no friends and no ambition to experience life. Then one day at work, Rose has a vision of her own death. This vision serves as a wake up call to her. Rose realizes that she has never lived or experienced anything in her entire existence. So she decides to make a list of everything she wants to experience before she dies. While Rose is out making her list, her mother is murdered instead. The police think she is responsible but a hunky new next neighbor is there to save Rose. As Rose begins to investigate her mother's death, she learns he life is not out of danger. As she fights to save her life, she also decides to complete her list for Rose is tired of being in the shadows and is ready to experience life.

Tedious and eventually just stupid. This book starts out reasonably well written, then devolves quickly into predictable non-mystery that is neither suspenseful nor remotely realistic/plausible even for an escapist murder mystery. Most irritating is the protagonist’s constant usage of the expression ‘crappy doodles’ when in distress. The entire book quickly becomes ridiculous.

Addicting series. These books just keep getting better and better.

Great book. I am very picky about the books i read, because i can’t just read anything. So with this book being free i was kind of skeptical about how good it would actually be and i am very surprised. I am so excited to finish this entire series! This book has just the right about of “love”, mystery, and comedy to keep anyone interested. Worth every bit of time spent reading.

New Find. I just finished Twenty-Eight and a Half Wishes by Denise Grover Swank. It was both interesting and entertaining with original plot and characters. There were a couple of storyline surprises. This book held my attention, and I look forward to exploring more by this author.

Loved It!. I absolutely loved this book. I had a hard time putting it down. It was a fun, easy flowing, mystery book. I had kinda guested a few things but I love how it made me second guess some of what I thought was gonna happen. I love the characters and the story line. I also loved following Rose as she "blossoms" into herself as a person. It was a great world to get lost into.

Twenty- Eight and a half wishes. It’s really difficult for me to get hooked on a book but since I read the first page of this book I couldn’t stop reading. This book had me completely hooked I finished it early than I’ve expected. I truly recommend this book especially to young girls. I’m looking forward to reading more books from this Author.

Coming back to where it all began. This is my second time reading this book. I fell in love with the series years ago and upon reading it a second time- find myself falling for the series all over again. Crazy what you miss (and simply forget) when it’s been a while. There are so many books in the series so brace yourselves, it’s a long journey ahead! One I’m excited to follow again *hint hint* if that tells you anything. 😉

Highly recommend. Such a good read, really gripping but not too heavy

Ticks all boxes!!. I loved this book so much I could hardly put it down! It was refreshing and more gripping than the romances I usually read. The characters were very likeable and I was rarely frustrated at their actions which I often find happens. However, I felt very content with the ending of this book and didn't feel desperate to indulge in the other books in the series immediately. This is a good and bad thing as I hate cliffhangers but I feel as though this book could stand alone without any sequels. Alas, I still recommend it highly and will probably read the sequels when I have time. READ THIS BOOK!!

One of the best books I've ever read!!. I simply purchased this book because it was free and was #1 in the charts. It truly deserved that place because I couldn't put this book down. It is so intriguing and every chapter makes you want to read one more page. This is such a good book. I've just finished this book and hope to read the next 7. I can't wait for books 9 and 10 to come out in March and April. No doubt, I would recommend this book to absolutely anyone! It made me shiver with excitement at the end!

Good read. Good storey !

Worth a read. I downloaded this from the iBooks free books chart and it was much better than the usual freebies you get on there. Good story line and for the most part well written. Only bit that grated a little was the use of “crappy doodles”. Well worth a read.

Really enjoyable read. I really enjoyed reading this book, there were a few times the flow of language wasn't quite right but apart from that a really easy read. When I'd finished I couldn't get the story out of my head, keeps you guessing. Highly recommended

Review. I bought this book for my iPad so that I could take it on holiday with me for casual reading. I couldn't put it down. It took me to a part of the world that I didn't know. The main character Rose is so unusual but a person you could relate to and feel very sorry for. Lots of action with love and romance thrown in. Absolutely super.

Fallen in love with these books. I love these books I've read it cover to cover within days as I couldn't put it down. I'm hooked and have downloaded the whole series and read them back to back. Eagerly awaiting the next book. Denise Grover Swank never fails to deliver a good book. She's fast becoming one of my go to authors when I'm looking for a new book. Highly recommend all her books.

Fine Holiday Read. The mid section of this novel was fairly gripping, however perhaps due to genre, much of the story was predictable before situations were confirmed. Easy to read.

Easy to read, hooks you into the series.... This book is easy to read and then pulls you in with the catchy storyline making it a read you don't want to put down until you reach the end. I am glad I didn't read this before the second book was written as I don't know how I could have waited for Rose and Joe to develop in their characters and what the next mystery is going to be.....

Enjoyable read. Despite the grammatical and spelling errors I enjoyed this book thoroughly. Rose has such an inspiring and fun story and I can't wait to read the other instalments!

Mushy Bits aside, this story is a good read. Buy!. A mystery with a love angle thrown in. Honestly, the love thing could have waited for book two, but Miss Swank writes the story so well, you can climb in bed with them and just gloss over those bits, because you will find you really want to know who knocked off Momma, and does our witty heroine die? Only her precognition will tell..

I couldn’t stop. This is my second novel I’ve ever read. I loved it. I read the sample e-book first and at the beginning I wasn’t too interested. But the more I read kept me going and of course, I bought the full e-book! I loved the way how Rose was so sarcastic about some things - it made it more interesting and funny. The mystery just never ends too. Enjoy everyone.

Fast paced and delightful. I did tear up a few times which was embarrassing for me hahaha the main character was immensely likeable in the fact that even though she would get upset she wouldn't let it get her down for long, a very enjoyable read and quick to get to the point

Crappy doodles!!. What sort of unbelievable, 20 something heroine runs around muttering crappy doodle, which where I come from means, "a penis covered in excrement!" . I found the female protagonist totally unbelievable and the American grammar annoying. A reader in English should not be able to so clearly pick an author's nationality through poor grammar. "Off of" is not acceptable! It is simply off! Crappy doodles!

Like a self published novel. If you like fanfic with OCs then give this a try. The self depreciating humour is enjoyable but the plot could have done with a decent editor. For example, I still don't know what happened to those apple pies that were in the oven when the power went out. Don't expect any surprises, just go along for the ride.

Perfect timing. This series came along at the perfect time in my life, it's inspired me to make the changes that are necessary to be able to live MY life and not the live someone else's. Thankyou Denise, keep them coming I'm loving Rose and her tenacity and her discovery of life and herself. She's making some damn good friends too.
