The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey Book Summary

The riveting follow-up to the New York Times bestselling The 5th Wave, hailed by Justin Cronin as “wildly entertaining.”

How do you rid the Earth of seven billion humans? Rid the humans of their humanity.

Surviving the first four waves was nearly impossible. Now Cassie Sullivan finds herself in a new world, a world in which the fundamental trust that binds us together is gone. As the 5th Wave rolls across the landscape, Cassie, Ben, and Ringer are forced to confront the Others’ ultimate goal: the extermination of the human race.

Cassie and her friends haven’t seen the depths to which the Others will sink, nor have the Others seen the heights to which humanity will rise, in the ultimate battle between life and death, hope and despair, love and hate.

For a younger crowd but entertaining.. Parts are slow and repetitious but by midway your hooked and you feel although you are the characters. I really didn't expect to get answers and still feel like there's more to come. Ready to find out how this ends.

Wow. This book answers many questions that you had from the first book.

Won't disappoint. Great follow up for the first book. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Excited for the release of the finale.

😑. Man this book is frustrating! I don't have anything nice to say so I'll just leave it at that.

Ummm... I expect this book to be amazing but I am unable to purchase it because it is saying it is updating and please try again later??

Super choppy. All over the place. Some chapters are 1-2 pages long. Most chapters are hopping between 6 different people with barely any flow. The first book was way better than the second. Won’t be reading the 3rd book. Not worth the money.

Best since Hunger Games. This is the most interesting book series I've read since The Hunger Games. Intricate characters and intricate plot - this has been a series that I read the book anytime I got the chance - I finished the first 2 books in about 3 weeks - which is saying a lot for this busy working mom:) Really looking forward to book 3 to see how it all plays out! If you like Hunger Games, Divergent, etc. I think you'll love this series.

Infinite sea. This was an amazing sequel to the first novel that opens more questions about the "others" and answers the question of if they are really from a different planet. It was intricately weaved and extremely interesting

Amazing. Despite what I would call a slow start, this book truly amazed me. At first I was frustrated with what decisions the characters made and the way the story was going but now that I've finished, all I can say is wow. If you've read the 5th you must continue the series.

Love this series!. Can this get any better? I can't wait for the next one to come out!

Great book. I read The 5th Wave and this one in less than three days. These books are real page turners. I bought the first one as a paperback and I was so interested in what happened that I had to immediately buy it on my phone. I think these books are great for anyone who likes a good read with an intense plot. It's 5 stars in my book.

Book 2. I have yet to read this...but there's no doubt, it's going to be amazing!

MUST READ. I didn't think I would like this trilogy as much as I did, but I loved it. I can tell the author emerged himself in to these characters each one was so authentic to their ideals it was breathe taking. "I promise I will come find you." PROMISES that these characters try to keep, because well without it they feel they are no longer human. Love it. Can't wait for the movie and book #3.

Good One. I read The 5th Wave and I'm expecting this to be very good.

Great!. Liked it! It was as good as the first (I think)! Really good series! Unlike anything I’ve ever read

Good. I liked the book. A couple parts here and there got a little repetitive, though. I can't wait for the last book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amazing. Yancey knows how to write; that's for sure! He connects events from the past to the present in ways only an expert writer could! Every event has a purpose! No events are just thrown in there!! I read this in one-sitting, no problem.

😎😎😎. Great sequel!

the book. I love how it jumps right in to the details.

A typical second book. Bittersweet.. This book was good in my opinion, it was not amazing but it was good. In the beginning it was really confusing but as I got further into it, it got a lot less confusing. It really got annoying how Evan was always dying, or risking his life. But it answered my questions and told a few love stories and that was the good part. I am a picky reader, but I give all books chances and I'm glad I have this one a chance so I would rate it 3.5 stars because it is between amazing and terrible, 3.5 is good

A Fast Paced Intelligent Thought Provoking Read. LOVED IT ! Can't wait for the next one !

Not Worth $10. The author is great at painting a picture, but did he ever stop to think if the picture should be painted? Boring, cliche and all over the place Infinite Sea droned on infinitely. The plot couldn’t hold interest without resorting to violence against children and there is no explanation as to why it has to be this way. If we’re going to go that dark at least let there be an understanding as to why, other than a need to raise the stakes. It’s obvious that the authors understanding of a female teenager is limited. One of the main heroines is nothing but a stereotypical love struck girl who uses ‘gah’ to express her attraction to another character. At least this cringeworthy second book stopped me from purchasing more in this series.

Disappointed. I really enjoyed The 5th Wave... I found this one a disappointment... It's probably better than two stars, I just expected more.

Amazing.. Of course, nothing is as good as the original but this keeps your attention and is very eventful.

luv it. i was in love with the first book! i couldnt put it down! so excited to read the next one!

Nice follow up to book #1. I really enjoyed this book. Not quite the roller coaster ride of the first, more about character development and analysis about what makes us human. Looking forward to #3.

👍. 👍🏼

Good sequel. Answers some questions, and sets up the final book.
