tjr. the author’s stories seem to capture life for what it is. this isn’t a corny novel that points to two people reuniting at the end for a “happily ever after,” because from the moment they leave, it’s a slow process of growth. i enjoy witnessing growth in any sense, so this got a 5/5 stars.

Really good book. I couldn’t put it down. It really took a good look at marriage and so many of the emotions and struggles. Very well written and I really enjoyed it.

Great surprise. Although I fully anticipated, I expected, this to be a lightweight and somewhat frivolous read, I relish the fact that I was wrong. Insights abound, and this book could easily be required reading, doled out by every marriage counselor in the western world!

Surprisingly pretty good. It starts off somewhat slow imo and there are parts that run on a bit, but surprisingly it was a pretty good read. My only wish is that she would’ve told the story from Ryan’s POV and not just Lauren but still a good read. I definitely think many of the challenges of marriage were realistic throughout the book which made it relatable.

There is Hope. I am falling in love with this author! Her stories are mesmerizing! Just when you think you figured it out…bam! You didn’t. I will give it all I’ve got and will never give up! Great reminder that marriage isn’t easy, but it can be great if you keep growing together.

Love Love Love This Author!. TJR never disappoints. This is another fabulous book by her. Very well written and puts you in the shoes of the main character. I took away a lot from this book and will apply it to my own marriage.

Unfortunately, irrelevant. I adore the author, but this story was unfortunately pointless and boring. Her other work is much more interesting and relevant.

Reality, Marriage, and Familiar Characters. Starts a tiny bit slow… but wow. What a turn around. Feels extremely real after going through my own family, sibling, business, and marriage issues. Another great book by this author. Interesting characters that you feel like you already know, because you probably do. Every premise will hit home with the average reader because of the realness of the life events and the characters.

Light book. Cheesy but easy read

Almost 4 stars. I would Give this 3-1/2 stars. It was a good, enjoyable storyline. It was well written with great character development, but the storyline was a bit depressing. I like “feel good” books, and this was not that.

Enjoyable read. Easy and enjoyable read! I enjoyed the development of the characters and the portrayal of working through the rough parts of marriage.

Idk how I feel…. The book was good and cute but just dragged on too long for me but also is one to really bring light to a reality for once so in that aspect I think it is a win.

What an emotional journey!. Just finished After I Do and I'm taking a couple days to process this book!!! It's such a powerful story and a very very huge wake up call for me. As I was reading, I kept looking at my husband and thinking back over the years when we had the same incidents pop up. Just last night (right when Lauren and Ryan were arguing over what to have for dinner), my husband and I argued over the same thing! Thank God we agreed on Chinese but I'll never look at fussing over a meal the same way. Definitely a 5 star read for me and I recommend it to everyone-just be ready for it.

Loved it!. Beautifully written story. Anyone whose been married or in a relationship for a long time will especially appreciate the honesty of the many emotions involved in keeping a relationship going. Highly recommend this book.

Love. This is a great novel. Everyone can relate to some part or person in the novel. I love the sister relationship how close they are. I love the honest that comes out about love and marriage. Great read!

Entertaining and insightful page turner. I’m not one for these kind of reads, but I inhaled Malibu Rising and did the same here, and for similar reasons. TJR’s characters are engaging without being cliche, and she keeps the story moving without too much unnecessary exposition. For an earlier book than her bigger hits, it felt very self assured. And maybe even more than Malibu, I liked that it was about more ordinary people. Good read,

Great book!. This book has the ability to resonate so closely with a normal marriage. I think it helps you learn something about yourself along the way. It did with me. Loved it and had a hard time putting it down!

Just OK. It had an interesting premise, but very predictable. The writing style was very juvenile and got on my nerves.

Heartwarming and Lovely Book. I read this book in one day and loved it! Loved the cast of characters, loved the setting, and loved the reality that love and life is not always a “bowl of cherries”, and certainly not perfect! I have to admit I got misty-eyed at the very end 🥲 Highly recommend.

Lobed the book at the price. I loved the book for the special price (3$). Didn’t like the final chapter, fell short after a really interesting book.

Excellent Recommendation for BookTok!!!. I enjoyed each chapter of this book.It was so relatable!!!! I was in a decade long relationship. Although it didn’t work out in the end the letters Lauren wrote to Ryan reminded me of an exercise I used to do during my healing journey where I would write drafts to my ex. This is the second book I’ve read from the author and haven’t been disappointed.

Fantastic. It took a bit to get into this wonderful story but then I just got carried away with this family!
