LOVED IT!. Love, love, love! I'm a big fan of YA fantasy/paranormal romance, but this was one of the best I've read. The characters are awesome, the storyline is unique, and I just can't wait to read the next one!

Ehh... I originally read this a year ago and decided to reread. It seems harder to get through and very rushed the second time around. I originally had it rated 5 stars but would say it’s more 3. The writing is good and I love the backstory on the types of characters but the conversations seem generic and don’t really flow. I previously bought and read all of the books so I’ll be sticking out hoping it gets better again.

Disjointed at best. It moves all around in the most confusing manner. I feel like there is a story there but it got lost.

CLIFFHANGER. labeled part 1 for a reason. Characters are okay, typical high school attitudes, although they claim to be much older. The storyline is interesting, but this starter didn't take me far enough in to tell if it's going anywhere.

Good story. I thought it was another book series and I was looking for something original

TWOT. Total waste of time

Warning spoilers mentioned. There are continuity errors in this series and so much going on that some things just don’t make sense. To start with Seth is an elder and then later he’s an understudy. Why was it even a question if Rebekah was the twins’ mother when she was human but the twins had been around for over a hundred years. There’s never an explanation as to how she falls pregnant in the first place seeing as it was made pretty clear early on that “guardians” (a term not mentioned until much later in the series) can’t have children seeing as they’re basically dead. I could brush it off as rouge being special or whatever to just keep going with the story, but then in the end rob jokes about getting busy to start making babies with grace. It should be impossible. There’s no real explanation as to why bentos wants rouge to join him rather than just outright killing her, then just when you think you have a bit of a grasp on what the go is with what malaz is and his place in it all, Caleb says he was his brother… it just feels like she lost track of what she started with the books and just went with whatever popped into her head as she went without checking that it fit with what she’d written previously. Then there’s the grammatical errors and the use of incorrect words. The idea was good but the execution was poor.
