Bully by Penelope Douglas Book Summary

New York Times bestselling author Penelope Douglas delivers an unforgettable romance that toes the fine line between love and hate in Bully—the first novel in the Fall Away series.

My name is Tate. He doesn’t call me that, though. He would never refer to me by a friendly nickname. No, he’ll barely even speak to me. But he still won’t leave me alone.

We were best friends once. Then Jared turned on me and made it his mission to ruin my life. I was humiliated, shut out, and gossiped about all through high school. His pranks and rumors got worse as time wore on, and I made myself sick trying to stay out of his way. I even went away for a year just to avoid him.

But I’m done hiding from him now, and there’s no way I’ll allow him to ruin another year. Jared might not have changed, but I have. It’s time to fight back....

Bad. Jared was mean

bad, just bad. really cringeworthy

Must read. Loved it! The author is very descriptive and brings you through every emotion and build up of the characters. You can feel and see everything in every setting given her choice of words. Definitely a good read

Loved it. Could not put it down..

Loved the twists!. This is a great book - the story line with all the twists, was absolutely great and kept me hooked!!

Review. I loved this book, I would also love a book about Jaxton. Because Jaxton seems to have a lot more depth to him.

Yes. Just yes. Read it.. I literally read this entire book in a day I could NOT put it down buying the second one now lol

Bully. This book is for older teenagers. Nothing out of the ordinary

Loved it!. I really enjoyed reading this book. It was the kind of story that you can’t put down. I loved that Tate was a strong female character despite the hardships of being bullied. I also liked the background story of Jared that helped build his persona. The ending was very cute and I enjoyed it!

No thank you. Cringey

Really well done. I don’t know what I was expecting but this was a really well done book. I find myself relating all too well to some of the situations that Tatum and Jared were in. Experienced a bully like Jared well into my twenties. I’m still healing.

Fave. This book is one of my favorite. I've read it 3x already since I purchased it last year as well as until you ! I can't wait to read some more about them. I'm not in hurry though. I know when I writer takes her time, it usually ended up being great ! Did I mention that your books is under my fave category on my iBooks !

Starts slow then holy 🔥. It started off slow but the story was still captivating and made me want to keep reading. The scene is in high school. The boy is the bully. The girl is the victim. They used to be best friends. There is an underlying spicy tension between them Once the spicy scenes really entered the chat, I couldn’t put it down. Instantly bought book 2!

Waste of Money. I’m not one to write reviews but this book was just so bad I have to. Reading it felt like a reading a very poorly written Wattpad story. I had seen so many positive reviews and ppl hyping it up on Tik Tok and it was simply so disappointing.

Meh. I love bad boys as much as any other girl but I thought the writing was lacking enough to take from the story.

👏🙌👌Amazing. This book has such good detail and feeling. Worth the read!!

4/5-spoilers. A little disappointed with the smut and Jared excuse for hating Tate with a passion. Along with why did K.C have to get with Jared the man who literally torments Tate for 2 years…. Wish they explained it more

Bully. This book hit so close to home in so many ways and had me in tears, anger, and lots of laughter!!! I highly recommend this book!!

Obsessed. Soooo good

Amazing. This book was amazing! The series only gets better and better!

Unhealthy. Sorry, I get it’s a fun read but this relationship is seriously gross...

Oh. My. Gosh.. I haven't read a book this great in a VERY VERY long time. To be honest, I don't think I've read a book this good ever! I'm absolutely floored. Wow. Just wow. I'm speechless. Can you say intense! Considering this takes place in dinky high school I was shocked at how interested I was. The characters were amazing! The story flowed. There was not one dull moment. Great book!

Bully. I’ve been wanting to try one of this author’s book for awhile, and it’s a shame I haven’t read her books sooner. The writing style is really good, not to mention the story itself. I don’t usually read high school stories anymore but I’m glad I read this one. It wasn’t too immature and the sex was tasteful and not super cheesy lol. I’d recommend this to anyone who likes YA romances.

Loved it. I couldn’t put the book down. Everyone has different views of the book. But I loved the story and how it ended. Definitely will continue reading the series !

Great. Love this book😍😍

Eye Opening. Absolutely amazing, not one dull moment, for sure recommend to anyone over 13+ other than that amazing!!

Wattpad 2.0. This book was great in most sections the the slow burn into the relationship was great, there were some parts that made me a little “ehhh” but I give this book a solid 6.5/10 could be better but all in all the book was fine I suggest reading it to get a more look into it

High school typical story. I mean if you’ve read bully stories you’ve read them all. It was decent, I always enjoy a romance happening in high school maybe because I miss high school lol. I didn’t mind paying $4 for this story.

Bully. So good! Couldn’t put it down!

Slow beginning, perfect ending. ___________________________ Positives: This book was a hard one to read. Not super hard, but hard enough for my emotions for Tate and Jared to go in a full circle 70 times! Their story is not like any bad boy, good girl romance, I’ve read yet. It follows their story from the very beginning with flashbacks to the sweet ending the author brought us. I already can’t wait to read the next book about Jared’s point of view. It’s fast paced with scenes but gives you the right amount of detail. Not to much and not to little. 5 stars. Negatives: I didn’t really like how long it took for Jared and Tate to finally become something. Not until the middle of the book did I actually see progress. Besides that it was an amazing book. 5 stars. Pages: 300 (Apple Books on ipad) ___________________________ Rates 1-5 Plot: 5 Characters: 4 Ending: 5 Beginning: 3 Details: 5 Story overall how it’s told: 5 Sexual tension: 4 Sex scenes: 5 Overall rating: 5 ___________________________ Yes/no/maybe Would I recommend: yes Would I re-read: yes Would I read more books by author: yes (downloading next book now) Would I read more books like this: YES ___________________________

Loved it!. I could not and would not put my iPad down! I read the entire book (37 chapters) in 5 hours! It's so good!

Thoughts. Even though Jared treated Tate for a long time, I loved his change and I love him and Tate together. They paid up well, or did soon.

Super good. Read this book In 1 sitting!!!

Never been so into a book!. I originally read Bully a little over 8 months ago. But let me tell you, it's one I continuously go back to. Penelope created amazing characters that were engaging and infuriating but ultimately just down right real. I felt connected to them. Also, let's face it, Penelope has kicka$$ taste in music and cars. She created a story that may only be in words, but I could picture everything that played out. I highly recommend this one!

Absolutely Loved it❤❤❤❤. Wonderful job. One of of my favorite books❤

Incredible. This is one of the best stories I have ever read. I seriously could not put it down. Read the entire book in one night. Not many stories had me laughing, crying, angry and loved, like this one. Tate and Jared’s love story is beautiful.

It was good but..... Love it so much but it was very blunt in some sections and didn’t really give a look into their future. I still recommend Colleen Hoover; every part in her books make readers want to keep going and give us a really good peek into their future.

Loved It.... Omg I really loved this book so much was there and the love they had for each other

Loved it!!. I love the passion between Tate and Jared. I could not put it down. I’m so looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

It was ok. The writing was really good but I felt the story was very juvenile, maybe it was directed towards a younger crowd.i felt really old reading about high schoolers and there silly pranks on one another. I was hoping for a time jump in the future but the story dragged on in the beginning. Back and forth pranks,it didn't get really good until maybe the last 100 pages or so.

I enjoyed!. Very clique and teen like, which i expected and love from penelope douglas. if that’s not what your looking for than this is not for you. i read this after liking Punk 57 and was not let down. The characters definitely have nice character development.

Wonderfully Written!. I loved this book! I couldn't put it down. The story was engaging and I felt every emotion the characters felt. I highly recommend reading this book and following up with "Until You".

The Bully. Just incredible, read in one day! I cried, laughed and swooned!

❤️. I luv this book. I read it in a day, couldn't put it down. Made me laugh out loud and cry. Really good read

Great Book. Freaking awesome book!!!

Loved!!!. Absolutely loved this book! Defiantly worth your time.

Love!. I love the sexy and romantic turn this book took!

Surprisingly good!!. Read this book a while ago, and found myself reading it again recently. The plot is actually really good, considering that it's a young adult romance book. Characters are memorable too, but I admit the name Tate is a little ridiculous to me. I would recommend giving this one a shot!!

The perfect slow burn romance novel. I really loved this book. Tate and Jared’s love for each other was so heartwarming and beautiful. The story was so beautifully written. There were times where I was shocked and my jaw would drop open. It was the perfect slow burn romance novel.

Bully. Bully was a great book that kept me interested 24/7! I’m usually a reader that reads a little bit at a time, but this book I devoured in two days!!

Jared & Tatum (Tate). Quite the story. Learning both of their pasts, especially Jared’s was emotional and I loved that they got a happy ending after everything. NOTE: the story is told entirely from Tate’s point of view, so I definitely recommend reading Until You. It’s Bully, but from Jared’s point of view and there’s a lot of stuff you learn from his book that was not in Bully
