Another treasure. Each time I finish one of these, I am equally exhilarated and a bit sad (the latter because I know I have to patiently wait for the next one). I wish they would do a credible job of turning these into a made for TV series. It could be incredible.

Cool Hands. Every character comes off cool in Crais' cool hands. As always....

Nobody.... ... writes like Mr. Crais - what a great read!

The Promise. Having just read the "Suspect", I loved the way the author has woven Scott James and Maggie into this book with Elvis Cole and Joe Pike. It is a great mix and a very great book. A page turner I could not put down until I read it all. Hope to see more to come.

The Promise. I have now read all of Robert Crasis books in the past 8 weeks. I loved everyone of them! All 5 stars. I tried to read slow and even reread several sections of this last book but still finished it in less than 2 days. Now what! Having Scott and Maggie back was great. I am so hoping they will become part of the gang. Anxiously awaiting your next book. So happy to have found you.

Surprised?. Mr. Crais once again proves himself that he's more than worthy of "pre-order." I don't need to wonder and wait for the day it releases to read a sample of Mr. Crais. He NEVER disappoints. Surprises? Of course. He's the best!

Almost as great as The Suspect. Despite the need for patience at the outset - while the threads and lines were woven- this was worth it! Another brilliant novel by this author with rich characters, complex plot lines, and what more? The love of a dog. Doesn't get much better than this.

Typical Craig. terrific, had me at every turn. Truly the best in the business!

The Promise. Another great book by an author you should discover if you've missed him. The only complaint is that he doesn't write quickly enough. More...faster, please.

More Jon Stone, please..... Great add to the Elvis Cole universe. Although I'd still take Pike if I'm counting on someone to have my back in a firefight.

Would like to read more of him. Maggie and Scott James added to the making of this iBook as, also, such a page turner mystery/thriller! I had read The Suspect first before this story. So, I already met and enjoyed this team of K-9 German Shepherd, Maggie and handler, Scott James! Am looking forward to reading more by Robert Crais! You are a fantastic author/writer!!! These books don’t have to be read in numerical order. Probably, would be more ideal to do so. But, each is and can be a stand-alone too. Which, I am grateful...as I was introduced to one that was on sale. Robert—you are so worth the bigger price amount anytime!!! 🐰🐰🐰🐰🐰

Always a great read. I have been reading all of Mr Crais' books and they seemed to get better and better, can't wait for the next one.

Outta the park. Mr. Crais has once again hit it out of the park! True to his word he incorporated Scott and Maggie into the story with Elvis and Joe. Fantastic read, presumptuous as it may be, I await his next offering.

The promise rocks. Another well put together Crais crime action novel. This one has Cole, Pike and K 9 officer Scott with his dog Maggie. They mix up an intriguing mystery that will leave you unable to put the book down until the end. Get this book, you'll be pleased.

For Suspense Fans & Dog Lovers. One of the best books I've read in a long time! Loved all the twists and turns. I bought this at a discount since I've enjoyed other Cole novels but also b/c of the description involving Maggie the dog & it more than lived up to its promise!

The Promise. Great Plot turned like a well oiled machine. This was my first book by this author. Will stick with him as long as they keep coming like this!

A dog?. Now he brings in a dog? I LOVED the dog!

Lovemysterythrillers. Fantastic and I have read all of Crais's stories. He has a way of capturing you and wrapping his arms around your mind. What a hit!!! I'm such a fan!

Just about as good as it gets. If there is a more satisfying and thoughtful read out there at the moment, I'd like to know about it. Elvis lives! The only bad thing about this novel is how long I will have to wait until the next one by this ridiculously talented writer!

The Promise. Did you have a ghost writer for this? Having read all of your books, it didn't live up to the verb. A complete waste of time and money.

Best Crais novel so far. Truly a great blend of all Crais characters you just have to love Maggie and Scott. Pike awesome as always, Elvis doing his thing and Jon is pretty cool too. Write faster please!

From Cole, to James to the SAC, it all comes together with twists and surprises that keep you captured page by page with action and interaction that is true to the character development and complexities of relationships as they develop and work together. Not bad. A weak plot

Classic Crais. An excellent storyline people's with Crais' characters. I love the inclusion of Scott and Maggie.

Terrific. Another excellent Robert Craig thriller with Elvis Cole, Joe Pike, and new heroes Jon Stone, Scott James and Maggie, a police dog. Couldn't put it down.

The Promise. Oh, boy, this is a good one. You should probably read Suspect first. However, this stands alone as a first-rate thriller. Fascinating characters -- the most fascinating Maggie the German Shepard -- a delicious, twisty plot, cracking dialog, and great settings. Don't miss it.
