Exceptional!. First off I want to say that I have read all the wishes books in the series. But this book had me go through a full gamut of emotions. I'm pretty sure I cried through three quarters of the book. The author is exceptionally adapt in drawing you in and letting you get to know the characters. She has an ability to perfectly describe a scenario or place without over describing it, which granted me the honor of painting her world the way I saw it through her words. I love this series so much and I love this author. I will re read every book for years to come!

Amazing. Loved the whole series! This book has definitely lived up to it. Absolutely amazing. GJ Walker-Smith's writing style makes you live the experience not just read it.

Another 5 star book from GJ Walker-Smith!. Anyone who hasn't read GJ Walker-Smith's work is truly missing out. She has a way with writing and story telling that is unlike anything I've ever read! Each book is unique, exceptionally well written, and grabs you emotionally from beginning to end. Whether you're familiar with the series or not, this book is sure to knock you off your feet and leave you wanting more! One of the things I love most about this series is that GJ doesn't have to resort to cheesy gimmicks, crude sexuality or sappy love scene dialogues to make her books sell. These books are just pure perfection without all of the crap you typically find in other romance and young adult books these days. She's just THAT GOOD!!!! I cannot wait to read more about Alex and Gabi's story, and I hope we might get a little bit of Charli and Adam in there if we're luck!

Love this family. I truly felt every happy & sad moment in this book like it was happening to people I love & care for. I wasn't ready for the tears I shed but I survived them. As always this story does a great job of connecting the dots. Connecting things from the past, present and a new direction for the future. I recommend this story.

I couldn't get enough!. Gj Walker-Smith has done it yet again in a short amount of time. This story had some of the best one liners throughout. I laughed, I cried, and I wanted more by the end. This series is worth falling in love with.

Nothing less than 5 stars would do.... GJ has done it again! She has brought back our favorite characters and shown us love, despair, and the true meaning of family. Life is not perfect but we can survive it and she has a way of bringing that to our attention in this beautiful story of Alex, Gabi, Charli and now baby Jack. Thanks for yet another phenomenal read!

Moving. Excellent! I'm not sure how G J Walker-Smith writes each book to weave so seamlessly and create more depth to characters that I already feel I know so well, but she's done it again. This book is just what I had hoped it would be. When's the next one coming out??

Lovely, just lovely... This story is like a roller coaster ride. Its was a smooth start then you get to feel the excitement building up in your stomach and fear will kick in, you scream at the top of your lungs while your eyes get watery to every high and falls, bumpy turns, twist and never ending loops and when you're near the end of the ride you have that big goofy smile on your face. That just really how I felt about Silver Dawn. The emotions in the story are very close to reality. A well written story and by far my favorite book for this year of 2014.

Crying....... Prepare the tissues!

Silver Dawn. Can't believe I paid $ for a 300 page "book". Feeling a little cheated however it was a good 300 page quick read.

Absolutely loved this!. Have you ever read a book where it just reaches out and touches your soul. I know that may sound a little corny, but seriously this story did that to me. This novella showed everything from joy, laughter, sorrow, love, and hope. It was quite an emotional read and I will say thank goodness for waterproof mascara. Gemma continues to surprise and amaze me with each story she creates and her wonderful imagination is very inspiring. Alex Blake is a wonderful man and an amazing father. He has always taught Charli to believe in the magic and what the universe tells her. But when an unexpected and dire situation occurs, now he's not sure of anything anymore. It was heart wrenching to see him so broken and his faith tested. But even with those hard moments there were the precious ones as well. A particularly special scene between Alex and his son that had turned my eyes into running faucets. Or seeing the incredible love that Alex and Gabi share. "I love you, Alex," she whispered. "More than art and books." Her declaration made me laugh. There was no greater achievement than being loved more than art and books. I kissed her hand again. "I love you more than the ocean," I countered. ~ Gabi and Alex Throughout this whole series one my favorite things has been the powerful bond between Alex and Charli. It was both heartbreaking and beautiful in this book. I loved watching her be strong for Alex and how she reminded him not to give up believing. She gives new wisdom to her dad that he always gave to her. "Your giving me lots of what-ifs. Give me the truth. Tell me anything as long as it's true." Charlie smiled as if we didn't have a care in the world, and in that moment we didn't. "I like it when you call me dad," I offered. "Even if it's accidental." She shook her head, but the smile remained. "It's never accidental." "Really." "Never," she insisted, shifting the board to her other arm. "Sometimes I say it because I think you need to hear it. And sometimes it's just because I need to say it." ~ Charli and Alex I loved every single thing about this story. It had it's heart pounding moments, but in the end it left my heart feeling happy and complete. This is definitely my favorite novella read of 2014.

Love love love!!!. I love this author so much I'd read anything she wrote. Amazing. This series will always be one of my favorites! Worth every penny!

Speechless. I just love her writing! All of her books, I find I am sad when it's over! These short stories with Ryan, and Alex I just love them! And I normally don't care for spinoffs when the core book is soooo wonderful and shall I say "magical" I just love Charlotte and Adam, and Bridget just makes the family whole. These stories give me life!!! I will read every last one of her books!

Another amazing story. GJ walker-smith has done it again. Bringing another amazing story to add to the wishes series. This book will have you grabbing for your tissues. Love the relationship between charli and Alex. This is a beautifully written story, not many authors can bring out the emotions I felt from this story, GJ walker smith has managed this. Heart wrenching. Beautiful short in the saving wishes series. It's been a while since a book made me cry.

Rich and intense. Robert Silverberg (American author and editor) writes: "A novella is one of the richest and most rewarding of literary forms...it allows for more extended development of theme and character than does the short story, without making the elaborate structural demands of the full length book. Thus it provides an intense, detailed exploration of its subject..." I devoured Silver Dawn. My two favourite characters of the Wishes Series were present - Alex and Charli...how could I not? It was intense. So intense that my heart hurt one moment and then rejoiced in the next moment; GJ Walker-Smith has a way with words. She writes beautifully; so much so that as a reader you can't help but get involved in the story, can't help shouting at the characters in frustration, can't help hurting when they are, and sharing their joy too. It was wonderful having Charli and Alex back together again. Their relationship is my absolute favourite. The roles are somewhat reversed in Silver Dawn and Charli is portrayed to be a calm, loving and supportive daughter to Alex...he should feel proud - for me, he is the one who made her as she is. "Whatever I'd taught my daughter over the years would forever pale in comparison to the things I'd learned from her. I hadn't made Charli. She'd made me". This novella is rich. You will love it.

Silver Dawn. To much drama but good for your characters.

Beautiful story. The Wishes series continues with Silver Dawn and my God, does GJ Walker-Smith deliver. This book takes us back to Pipers Cove where we read a story of miracles and heartbreak, of love in different relationships. This book made me feel such a mix of emotions - from laughing to crying and everything in-between. I wish I could give more than 5 stars! This book and GJ Walker-Smith do not disappoint.

SusieG. The much anticipated release of GJ Walker-Smiths' next book in The Wishes Series ,Silver Dawn , is imminent. This is Alex and Gabbi 's story, it is an emotional ride, studded with humour and pathos. Beautifully written, it will not disappoint the reader. I was left feeling I had personally witnessed every chapter unfolding, it is a true credit to GJ Walker- Smith' s story telling prowess. This is a stand alone book but you would be missing out on so much if you have not or do not read the other novels in this series.

Another great read. Silver dawn was another insightful book on the most basic level. No over elaborated moral debates to discover. Walker likes to get you at root level with made up fairy tales and magic. It's always the best kind to make you see the best in life.

You are going to fall in love with Alex, and his parenting skills... cause i am so totally jealous of Charli! In this book, Alex is awaiting the arrival of his son...and if ever a book will make you "ugly" cry this book will! I am without a doubt one of GJ Walker-Smiths biggest fans, her writing is out of this world, and her story telling is fantastic! Make sure to get Sand Jewels, to read the story of how Alex and Gabi got together, even better get the WHOLE series... you will not be disappointed... i mean take a look at the ratings... you will not be disappointed.

Silver Dawn deserves a gold star. GJ Walker-Smith sure knows how to get your emotions going. In a book rather unlike the others in The Wishes Series, she's taken us back to the Cove to wait for Alex and Gabi's baby son. I have to say, I went through just about every feeling on the spectrum. I laughed out loud and ugly-cried til my eyes hurt. It's so easy to get emotionally invested in GJ's characters in such well-written books. You definitely won't regret reading Silver Dawn and now I'm eagerly awaiting book 5 ❤️

Hard to put down. Love this series of books. Always leaving you eager to find out what is happening with each character. When each chapter finishes you say I'll just read one more, next you know several hours have past. Love each character and all their different personalities and their caring natures for each other along with their sense of humours and priorities of life . The sense of family is refreshing. So pleased another book is being released soon so I can find out what is going on with Charlie and her family.

The magic continues.... Silver Dawn focuses on Alex and Gabi and the growing Blake clan. GJ Walker-Smith amazes me with her continued high standard of writing and original story telling. Despite this being a novella, it packs the emotional punch of a full length novel. I loved it, have read it twice already and can't wait for the next instalment, Star Promise! Five stars without hesitation!!

Breathtakingly Beautiful As Always.. GJ captured my heart with these characters over a year ago when I read the first book in this series, Saving Wishes. I have waited anxiously for each new release and she never disappoints me. I adore Alex, he is a true gent with a heart of gold. There is nothing he wouldn't do for the ones he loves. I was so happy to be back when I heard we were getting more Alex and Gabi. During this novella Alex's faith in the magic he taught Charli over the years fails him when he needs it most. Charli arrives back where it all started ready to meet her little brother but she gets more than she bargained for, she has to hold Alex together. Like he has done for her many times over the years. I have always felt loved the relationship between Charli and Alex. The reversal of roles to a degree make it all the more beautiful in this book. Alex really struggles in this book, he's no longer the down to earth Aussie surfer, he's an emotional mess. This novella had me in tears numerous times, sad and happy tears. I love the magic GJ weaves into her books, she is one of those rare gem's of an author, that once you find her books you will never want to miss them.
