Enhanced. Being a long time major fan of Evangeline Anderson, especially her Kindred Bride Series, I was thrilled when Kindred Brides #12 finally came out. With this series I highly recommend reading the books in order and they are so amazing you will be addicted from Book #1 "Claimed". As the story has been outlined in the summary and by numerous reviewers I will write my review concentrating on my impressions. We were introduced to Mei-li and Six in the last book "Devoured", so their story line was set in motion. Mei-li is a different kind of heroine in the Kindred Series, appearing small and fragile she is anything but. Although she is fearful of her dream sharing with a big scary looking cyborg appearing Six, Mei-li is driven in her career as a social worker for children in high risk situations. As the story progresses we find that Mei-li is a force to be reckoned with. Fiercely devoted and protective of the children she determined to protect Mei-li will put herself in danger to save them. She is a heroine that I liked and enjoyed. Small as she this heroine will surprise you from her fighting spirit to her determination to go after and defend what she wants ,which is eventually a very hot sexy Six. Six is not just your average alpha hunky Kindred, he is a Dark Kindred. Although not born to this particular breed, Six has buried a horrendous family tragedy by purging his emotions and building a stark robot like existence on Zeaga complete with bionic eye and arm (his enhancements). He is totally perplexed by his small human fated mate and even more unable to logically figure out why he is so strongly drawn to her as well as his need to protect her. The thrilling,exciting, heart wrenching, smexy romantic story of this unlikely couple is an amazing, page turning, reading experience. It is a great addition to the series. There is a well paced gradual build up of the characters romance and oh so hot love scenes as only Evangeline Anderson can write them. Evangeline Anderson is a genius at world building, her descriptions creatively painting the new places we experience in this book (like Zeaga and a Medical Enhancement Center), as well as happily revisit the Mother Ship and many of the beloved characters from the previous books. We are also introduced to Yipper, an alien surgeon and I hope that Sylvan will be offering him a permanent place on the mothership as I hope to see more of this strange funny alien. (As he would say "yes I do,yes I do.') Besides the central story, the evil dark forces that has been part of the plot in previous book is being built upon, expanded and will carry over to the next book. So while there is a very well deserved HEA there is also a bit of a cliffhanger at the end that leads into Book #13, "Cursed." Can't Wait!

This is one of my favorites. I read several of the books in the series and have listened to several of the books in this series after I realized that William Martin was narrating them rather the woman from the first few books. Anyway, I flew through them so fast and didn’t start reviewing them until about book 16. However, I am going back to put reviews to my favorite ones. This was by far one of my favorite ones. I loved the storyline. I loved so much about the two main characters and the way in which they interacted with each other. I highly recommend this book and this author. I enjoy the various world she creates and love the creativity of so many of the storylines. I also love the way this author so often intertwines so many of the characters from each of the books from before and in the future.
