A great perspective!. I grew up watching “Girls Next Door” and never thought about things underneath all the glamour. I’m so happy I read this book. I’ve always loved Holly - she’s always had an aura of warmness and kindness, and this book further proves it. Her memoir reigns true: things may look perfect on the outside, but we never know what someone is going through behind closed doors. She’s gone through many struggles that so many women have fallen victim to, and she’s so incredibly brave for sharing her story.

Girls next door. I remember watching the GND when I was a lot younger, it was one of my favorite shows. After reading this book I watched GND episodes I haven't seen in years, I picked up on things that Holly pointed out in her book. I really didn't think I would enjoy the book as much as I did but I thought it was great. I couldn't put it down, I finished it within about two days.

Holly's Fairy Tale. I loved this biography. It was a fun book to read. I felt like I was on an adventure with Holly and I not only enjoyed The Girls Next Door but I'm also very excited that her dreams finally came through. Maybe her next book with share her life with her husband and Rainbow. Hope they all continue to live the real fairy tale and maybe someday she, Kendra and Bridget can become friends again.

Interesting read but kind of all over the place. Book kept me intrigued but I felt she jumped around a lot. The excessive use of exclamation points got a little annoying. She talks about how she was bullied by these women but also puts them down in her own way. Her struggles and accomplishments are empowering, however.

Shocking and extremely detailed. This book was so detailed and precise to a tea. I couldn’t put it down (and I don’t normally make reviews). Holly addresses almost every headline/rumor addressed in the media about her life, loves, and “friends” (aside from Bridget). She holds nothing back. There were parts in the book I read cringing to myself, “Did she really just say that”. Her ability to showcase herself with such a raw persona allows her readers to connect to her struggles making her a character to root for almost in a fairytale but in the sense of a cold harsh reality.

Amazing and inspirational. What an amazing book! I cried at the end. Some very sad moments, but she handled everything with such grace and truly turned her life around. Loved this book. Beautifully written. Holly, you have a new fan!

I actually loved this book!!!. I wasn’t sure about this book at first. I mean it was a prior playboy model writing a book. Enough said, right!? Wrong! The reason why Holly Madison was the first in line of the “Girlfriend’s of Heff” was because she was smart and she was fast, and witty, relatable, and a fantastic person. She was always great to watch on “The Girls Next Door” with the other 2 ladies. After that show I had always hoped she would do great things. And of course she didn’t disappoint. She became relevant and she became a star all on her own! So she isn’t just another Playboy Model! She is much much more and I am so happy that she wrote this book about the Mansion Days and Beyond! I promise you will not be able to put it down like I was unable to! Thank You Holly for writing this book and can’t wait to read the next one!

Mediocre. Wish I had not spent the money on this book. Madison whines throughout the whole story about how awful everyone is to her and how nothing is her fault. Even living in the Playboy Mansion is not her decision, to her her tell it. Very boring.

I really enjoyed this book. I had a hard time putting this book down. It is well written and very entertaining.

Yuck.. Any thought that Hugh Hefner was instrumental in the empowerment of women is shut down by this book. Maybe in theory but bottom line- creepy old man. Holly holds nothing back and I read this book in a day. A great tell-all and look into the lives of those beautiful women chosen to grace the pages of Playboy.

Great read!. Wasn't sure what to expect from this book but it was a good read and kept you interested. Though it took a long time, close to 6 months to read. Happy that Holly found true happiness and peace.

Mis-Spelling 👎. This was an okay book I suppose. I was thinking it would be juicer but it was kind of dull. I even found misspellings. "A week letter I received a letter from Hef reprimanding...." It shows page 904 of my iBooks, not sure where it would be in the actual book. But learn how to spell Holly!! 😳

BUY!!!!. I can’t believe I’m at the end and finished. I may re-read just to relive the adventure. I could see everything as I read. I laughed, maybe shed some tears, I felt for Holly and wished I could have been there as a shoulder to cry on. I know how she must have felt. And the Girls Next Door was popular because of the girls in it! Not Hef. It was never his. I wish all the best to Holly and her family. You Cinderella, have found your happiness. I hope more happiness comes your way. And I hope you see this review. This book is worth buying and was worth the wait for me to buy. I’m sad i finished reading it! Now for Vegas Diaries!!!(also by Holly Madison)

A Blast from the Past. Well written and fun

Meh. This was a lot of “you probably think this happened, but actually this happened, instead.” Covering her tracks and I just felt like I was being manipulated the entire read.

Early 2000’s lifestyle truth. I’ve always been so intrigued by watching the girls next door and following the girls afterwards. It was so nice to know what being in your 20’s during the pivotal time or being thin with big boobs and strutting your body was like. Very well written and makes me respect Holly more!

Avid reader. Kind of boring mostly felt sorry for all the girls that lead that kind of life. I guess it’s just being young and stupid. Don’t recommend reading

Great book!!. Finished this book in two days, really makes you realize that fame and fortune might not be as glamorous as it seems. Being from Oregon myself it's almost like every girls dream and her story makes you revaluate what you want out of life.

Bunnies aren’t meant to be caged. It took me a while to get through the first half of this book. Nothing against Holly- A lot the beginning is about her relationship with Hugh Hefner at his mansion/bunny prison and, sorry, but Hugh is just not a person I have ever had much interest in. Anyway, when I reached the second half of the book I couldn’t put it down! The 2nd half was inspiring. It’s more about her personal/professional experiences, struggles, and triumphs. Overall, it was a good & insightful read. Good for Holly!

Loved it. As a fan of the Girls Next Door I found this to be eye opening. When I watched the show I wasn’t a fan of Holly but following her on social media I became a fan through her love for Disney, HP, and spooky things. Truthfully I didn’t know reality TV was THIS scripted. I often found myself unable to stop reading this book and haven’t finished a book this fast in years.

Such a great read! Playboy fans will enjoy. While a lot of people are saying she lied her way through this book, you have to read and think to yourself, "well this does make sense" While I hate to hear the true story I still consider Playboy an amazing old Hollywood iconic brand and Holly to be a wholesome person.

Awful, no, beyond awful!. I was tasked with reading a memoir for an upcoming writer’s workshop, and selected this book at random. Oh what a mistake. There’s nothing redeeming between these pages, nothing redeeming about this author, her life, her choices, etc. Take a hard pass on this drivel and save yourself a lot of eye rolling.

Holly. Holly Madison is everything. Insightful and wise.

Great book. Genuinely loved hearing the stories of what actually went down in the mansion! Even tho I’m always #teamkendra this was a great read and better than her book.

Worst Book Ever. This entire book was about Holly feeling bad for herself. She takes absolutely no responsibility for her life and the steps she's taken to end up where she is. Hef took advantage and abused her, the girls were mean bullies and Holly was the sweetest thing being pushed around and abused by everyone but never ever leaving because she was trapped. Grow up. You had no problem accepting all your girls next door paychecks. If you don't like your life, change it. Stop blaming everyone else.

Such a page turner.. I have no words to explain how much I loved this book. But even more how much I'm thankful Holly was able to share it with us all.

Well worth the read!. I had wanted for a while to read this book and I could not be happier with the purchase. So many things make sense to me now. I had NO IDEA her life at the mansion was so terrible. Holly always, and still does, came across a genuine person with an incredibly kind soul. Shame on all those people who treated her badly. It literally brought tears to my eyes while reading the end that I had to keep stopping to clean my eyes because I couldn’t see the words clearly! I am so happy this beautiful woman found her happily ever after. She sure deserved it!

So many times where I couldn't put it down. A fun insight into the life of a former playboy bunny. It's not what I expected, enjoyed this book and I couldn't put it down.

Behind the Scenes. I had previously saw reviews of this memoir online long ago and once I started binge-watching GND, I purchased the book and could not stop reading it !! (no really, I had to stop watching the program to read) Holly is so well spoken and well versed. And I love the Alice in Wonderland references. It was very intriguing to see the world from Holly’s POV and to know how she lived happily ever after. <3

Eye opening. As a girl that grew up in the 2000s, I thought the Playboy girls were everything to aspire to, they were beautiful and people loved them and they got to just dress up all day and party all night. This book was a heart wrenching and eye opening look at what was going on behind the scenes of the public facade we all adored. My heart hurt for Holly, as I read how she stuffed her dreams down and felt stuck with no way out. Having finished the book I feel incredibly proud of her subsequent success and happiness. It is so deserved.

I believe every word of this autobiography is sincere and truthful, you only need look, at Hugh Hefner to see he is not programmed correctly, well done on doing so well for yourself Holly and your family is beautiful! Thank you for writing this it's helped me a lot....I was a big GND and Holly's World fan but could always see things weren't as they were portrayed! Great book, can't recommend enough I've read the whole thing cover to cover in just over a day! Interesting read and can totally understand why it's a bestseller!

Loved it. Couldn’t put it down, I love how 100% honest she writes about her time at the mansion.

The gossips the only interesting part!. It was only the gossip and play boy stuff that makes this book. As soon as she talked about her new venture peep show or hollys world in the second half I was skipping paragraphs. I found the feeling Holly wanted to the reader to feel sorry for her but I ended up feeling she was fake and self indulgent.

A good read. Thoroughly enjoyed this book. There are aspects of the book (with the other playmates) where I felt she is less forth coming about her unpleasant behaviour to girls, focusing mainly on their relentless abuse. However the book comes across honest and engaging. I couldn't put it down. Anyone familiar with abusive relationships will understand that Holly's with Hefner was a classic case of psychological abuse. So pleased for her that she found her self worth.

Not worth buying. After seeing a lot of good reviews on this book, and seeing someone reading it sat next to me on my flight to Thailand, I decided to purchase this book thinking it would be amazing. The first few chapters were so interesting and I couldn't put the book down as it was nice to get to know Holly as she was growing up and having an insight into what went on begins the mansions walls. Then, the further I read, the more winey, repetitive and pathetic Holly came across. She complains so much about how bad her life was in the Mansion and how badly treat she was off not only the girls, but Hugh himself. Yet she still managed to live in his mansion for almost a decade! She claims she wasn't there for the money and fame yet later on in the book she comes across so materialistic and money and fame driven. The book became more frustrating to read and it became so clear that this 'damaged girl who was only with an old rich man because she loved him so dearly' was only in it for obvious reasons, not love. To think that these women allow themselves to be used by a fossil and share the same man in the same night is beyond disgusting. This book is far from a fairy tail happy ending. It's about blond bimbos sleeping with someone old enough to be their grandfather just for that shot at fame and then throwing a pity party because of how badly they were treat and how they are wrongly judged by the public.

An eye opener. Very interesting to Find out the full story behind holly and her time in the mansion. Definitely showed a different side to the 'playboy' image. A nice easy read.

Eh. It was well written yet this woman is a little delusional if she thinks this isn't revenge. I'm a big kendra fan and can't wait to read her book next.

Enjoyed this book. I never intended to purchase this book as I wasn't a fan of Holly when i watched GND, however I am soooo pleased I did. I consider this book has been written as honestly and candidly as you can and would go so far as to say the comment made to the press by Hef "Holly is re-writing history" is a load of rubbish. The entire book kept my interest and I can recommend it to anyone who has watched any of reality TV series which relate to this book. I can well imagine there were loads of "nasty girls" who walked in and out of the Mansion and I can also imagine what she says about Hef is 100% accurate. From where I am sitting Holly has cleared up a lot of misconcenived ideas and opinions about various people and situations and good on her for doing that. She tells the story of her life and how she felt, what effect it all had on her personally and she wasn't embarrassed to admit to her downfall/s. In other words she doesn't candy coat any of it. The book doesn't spill the beans at all - it is what appears to be an honest account of one woman's life at the Playboy Mansion, excellent. Holly Madison now has one more additional "fan"

Loved it! Everything is in a whole new light!. Growing up loving the GND series we never got enough of Holly! You could almost hear her voice as this descriptive book lets you into her thoughts, feelings and the goings on we did not notice while loving these girls on camera. A very relatable Holly let's us into her private world; the ups the downs and the triumphs this book could not just be put down.. I needed to read more! Love it! Cannot wait to read Hollys second book.

Not the best. I thought this book was going to be a page turner and keep me enthralled but it hasn't. The author goes into way too much detail, it drags on and on. She could have told some of the events in half the time. Way too much detail so much I find it hard to keep focused as I am just bored. Got to page 670 and gave up. Don't bother.

A good easygoing read. At times it can read as a very bias perspective on life in the mansion for Holly compared to the other girls, which can come across as somewhat catty. However, an interesting read all the same, about a world we are so far removed from. I enjoyed it.

The book that sets everything straight.. I don't ever read, but I wanted to hear her truth. This book was addictive. So much that I finished it in 2 nights reading before bed. It was well written, and as I read on, I felt the relief knowing the truth and she hopefully felt telling it. I'm sad knowing what she's been through but so happy that she's come out the other side so much better off.

5 stars!. Holly you are a true inspiration and someone who shows what can happen if you don't give up, believe in yourself, be your true self and follow your dreams!

Great read. I loved this. It’s seems completely honest and when I looked back at the show I could see she wasn’t enjoying the part she played. I thought she was really bright and it’s really interesting this perspective.

Average at best. I was impressed with the chapter tie ins and I respected her for writing her version of the truth. I feel that she had more fun writing it then I did reading it. I think the book was a way for her to release a lot of negative emotions from her not-so-glamorous past. She gave a good insight that what we have previously perceived is not what was, however I found she was very negative about so many people and lacked the ability to accept responsibility for the roles she played. It was always someone else's fault.

Repetitive Read. Unfortunately this book reads as a long winded vent session where the content is very repetitive. Despite wanting to distance herself from the Playboy image I was very disappointed that the whole book basically surrounded the Playboy drama and less so on her other successes.

Awesome Read! Thanks Holly!. I absolutely loved this book, thanks Holly for your honest account. I actually believe this kind, sweet woman and what she went through. How Hugh Hefner treated her and the Girls was pretty nasty and I think he is just so set in his ways and doesn't really care deeply for these women as much as he portrays to the public, which is sad. I understand first hand what its like to be in an emotionally abusive relationship and know what its like to feel you have no self worth at the hands of another for such a long time. Its complex however Holly describes it well. Its not all about emotional abuse, its also about complex relationships that are all incredibly surface, other than with Bridgette, who notably has not denied anything Holly has said. Kendra is part of the Playboy franchise so of course she will go into bat for Hef as she has him on her show and wont bite the hand that feeds her! I was never a Holly fan, however we were not shown the "real" Holly on TV and I was pleased to see some of her interviews on this book, what a classy lady! Pleased she eventually found her strength, got out and thrived thereafter. A lovely lady who just happened to believe in love, wanted to be loved, real love, only to be dissed as a plaything for Hef and Criss' gains, both egotistically and financially. A great, honest read and I shall be reading it again soon :)

Beautiful Book Holly! I love it!. This is the book that I'm most interested in that I've been awaiting for release! I haven't been this into this type of book release since Barbara Eden's Jeannie Out of the Bottle. It's Holly Madison's Down The Rabbit Hole: Curious Adventures and Cautionary Tales of a Former Playboy Bunny. I've watched her on her show The Girls Next Door for years and followed her career, always loved her personality. I've been counting down to the days of this release. I read the first couple chapters and I'm hooked! The audiobook would be nice too because it's narrated by Holly herself! This makes a lovely Summer read and isn't the cover so beautiful?! Love all the pink glamour/Alice in Wonderland inspiration it captures Holly's personality well!

wonderful!. I purchased this book on a rainy weekend on a whim, hoping for an interesting and easy read. Wow! I could not put this book down! I used to watch GND and did like Holly, but I have to say I love her now! What an awesome real life role model. Loved her honesty, and the fact that there was not a single part of the book that I didn’t find interesting. She is a true inspiration to women, we all make “mistakes” and she had the courage to leave her bad situation. Holly should be proud that she did it her way, was never intimidated by HEF and Chriss Angel. Great read!. I truly enjoyed reading this book. It was so well and so honestly written. It's the first book in a long time that I haven't been able to put down. I love the Alice in Wonderland references and the truth behind "reality" tv that so rarely is revealed. Kudos to you, Holly.

A wonderful read!. As a fan of GND and then Holly's World, I knew I'd probably like this book. What I wasn't counting on was that I literally could not put this book down and I'm so glad I read it! Holly is a sweet, fun and smart young woman that opens her life for us to catch a behind the scene look into her surreal world that we only caught a (scripted)peek at on E!. She's a survivor and a hard working role model. I'm so happy she's made it out not just ok, but as wonderfully and classy as she has. I wish Holly was my sister.

Down the Rabbit Hole indeed. I watched GND as a young impressionable woman. When this show was on the air so many female celebrities were being made "famous" for the wrong things (Holly included) and she actually owns up to it, lifting the veil on a very disillusioned lifestyle. Good for Holly for growing the confidence to find her self worth and move on with her life in this interesting read.
