Married for Christmas by Noelle Adams Book Summary

After years of dreaming, Jessica is finally getting married, but the marriage isn't exactly what she thought.

Daniel is her best friend, and she's known him all her life, but he's never gotten over losing his wife two years ago. His dream is to become the pastor of the church in their hometown, but the small-town congregation keeps balking over calling an unmarried minister. Since Daniel needs a wife and Jessica wants a husband and family, she proposes an arrangement that benefits both of them.

They can get married. They can build a life together. They can celebrate Christmas as a couple. It's fine that he doesn't love her. And it's fine that she's not exactly suited to be a small-town pastor's wife. And it's fine that she's more attracted to her sexy, brooding husband every day.

Jessica can be practical about this marriage. She knows what she's getting into, after all...

This book includes fully-developed sex scenes between a husband and wife.

Awesome book. I loved this book. I almost didn’t read it because of a negative review, but I’m glad I did. Being a preachers wife I could so identify with many of the things the characters were dealing with. Sometimes questioning your faith and as a wife not wanting my husband to know how I’m feeling. Feeling like I’m always being judged and not knowing where I fit in…Those offended by the sex, married people in the church do have sex!

Ugh.... I wanted to like this story; the concept is great. It started out as a three out of five for me, but quickly went down to a two. It stayed there for a while until the last few chapters when it plummeted to a one. The author describes things well, however the characters were awful. There was no depth to any of them. The main character, Jessica was okay, but the other main character Daniel was not enjoyable at all. Although I'm sure this was not the author's intention, I found this entire story insulting. Daniel is supposed to be a pastor, a very godly man, and Jessica is supposed to be just as godly, yet I saw very little to reflect that about them. Daniel read his bible a lot, but shut his own wife out and acted extremely hypocritical and almost never talked about God to her. He had no character at all, and the dialogue the author gave him, as well as the other characters, was ridiculous. So repetitive, so repetitive. I can't stress enough about the characters. There was barely any content about other characters. There was no mini storyline for the other characters, and I couldn't feel anything for any of them. It got very annoying how toward the end, Jessica kept crying ridiculously while Daniel demanded to know what's wrong. The author told a story, telling me what the characters felt, but the author shouldn't have to tell me. I should be about to feel it, but I felt nothing for the characters except annoyance. It seemed like the author just randomly made them feel or say something because it made the story move in the direction the author wanted it to go, but a story should be able to tell itself, unravel itself and spill out of your head onto the paper (or screen) the audience reads from. This story screams amateur. I felt like it was written by a middle schooler. Another thing I would like to point out, is that again toward the end, even though Jessica doesn't feel "connected" to people and therefore she gets married in hopes that will change that, she never made an effort. It's mentioned that she started "feeling connected", one phrase which was repeated too many times, yet it was never shown in the story. Not once did I see Jessica connecting to anyone. The grammar was horrid and there were typos. Too many unnecessary vocabulary words and phrases were used repetitively. The characters were stale, ridiculous, and made me feel absolutely nothing except thankful that this story was free.

Wonderful story. This story was full of ups and downs but it was great! The characters had dynamics and I was fully satisfied at the end (with exceptions on her mom) but it was hopeful. I could not put this book down! Oh and Daniels and bears relationship reminded me of my boyfriends so that was an A+

Married for Christmas. I loved the way this book had characters who were fully developed. The author did a great job presenting the story. I liked that the author presented the pastor as someone who also had struggles. It was a real life story, not one where the pastor was perfect. Thank you for the way you presented this story.

Great read!. This is a great book! It's romantic while not feeling over done. Loved it!!

Married for Christmas. I really enjoyed the story very much. I had a hard time putting it down. Loved the ending.

Married for Christmas. Beautifully written. Could not stop reading.

Awesome. Love this book

Married. Emotional, somewhat funny, and stubborn. Loved the story

Good read!. Refreshing read about love without steamy sex. (Although I enjoy those books, too!). This is a good book, you'll enjoy it.

Married for Chfistmad. I didn’t really care for this book.

Unexpected. I didn't think I would like this so I passed it and then on a random day I started reading it and couldn't put it down. It's a really great read!!!!!

Eh. I like the beginning, although there was a lot of repeated lines. It was sweet and funny. In the middle of the book, it got annoying. Lots of arguments and stuff, I get that it's supposed to be realistic but it was the same argument over and over and over again with the same solution. It just got boring... Almost finished the book but it just got tacky and too childish. At times it felt like I was reading a book recommended for teenagers but with sex scenes... And why does he keep asking her if "it's good" while sex? That was cute at first but then made it seem like he was insecure about his ability to please her. Idk, I liked some parts and then didn't like the others. it was okay I guess.

Beautiful story!. I laughed and cried and laughed while crying. This book is very well done. The characters are believable and the plot line is beautiful. I'm not very religious or spiritual but this book is an amazing read for anyone.

Married For Christmas. Not what I thought it was. I felt like the story was dis-jointed. The author started on one thought, and went to another thought before completing the first thought. I wasn’t impressed!

Enjoyable. Was delighted with the storyline and how the minister was so relatable and the romance was just about the man and a woman and nothing more. Good read and I enjoy the author.

Sweet & Romantic. This is a very sweet & romantic story about two friends that marry to benefit both. They love each other as friends at first then their love slowly changes into the love of a husband and wife. The religious theme of this book isn't too over the top and "preachy". It's just enough so it doesn't distract from the love story. There is a sex scene in it but it's done right and between husband & wife. I would definitely recommend this book to ages 17 and over.

Married fo Christmas. I just loved this book! Loved the characters, loved their chemistry…

Married for Christmas. In my opinion this is definitely worth reading! This was a page turner filled with emotions and the greatest of these is love. The well developed plot and characters made it easy to connect to the story and feel the joy of a HEA ending!

Loved it. I absolutely loved this book! In the past year I have read over 300 romance novels and this is one of my top 10! Loved the mixture of romance and religion! Nothing too extreme and it was perfect!

Light Holiday Read. I was looking for a cute Christmas story to get me into the mood for the holiday season. I didn't read the synopsis, so I didn't know it wasn't a clean read. It's okay though, I just skipped those parts and it did not take away anything vital from the story. What's new to me about this story is that most Christian reads I've read before never included intimate scenes. They tend to always be clean, so this was different. Not bad, in my opinion, for those who like to read those kinds of scenes. Anyway, I found Daniel to be a bit infuriating because he has such a hot and cold attitude. He can be kind and caring one moment, and the next moment he can just clam up. I certainly understand why Jessica is getting all sorts of mixed signals from him. And as for Jessica, you can see she has feelings that grow throughout the story, but she feels are unrequited. I felt the resolution was very dramatic (in a good way) because they finally talk everything out. Overall, it was a quick read and I give it 3 Platypires.

Lovely read. A good Christmassy read with love and romance

Loved the beginning to the middle!. Is there another book after this? Cause I thought it would have ended them having a family! Was a great book though!

Married for Christmas. I was unsure about this book for half of it, I didn’t LOVE the main characters but I did enjoy that the storyline was different to the usual friends-to-lovers ones. Once I got towards the end, I loved it. I even re-read the last chapter because the ending is so sweet.

Something Different. Jessica agrees to marry her best friend Daniel. During the agreement, they quickly find that they are falling in love with each other in a way they never thought possible. I thought this book was interesting. The whole agreement to get married to benefit each other in a different way was nothing I had read previously.

A great Christmas read.. A perfect story to fill those brief restful moments on Christmas Day.

Good read. Great afternoon novel. Christianity is a focus but it wasn't done forcefully

Fun. It was a fun read.

Good to read during Christmas month. Jessica certainly a very patience lady, timid and shy. Its lack of romantic scenes but has a nice touch of Christmas spirit.

Awesome!!😀😀. I love this book and worth to read😊

Married for Christmas. That was a pleasant read, the kind one can enjoy while relaxing in front of a toasty fire in winter or sitting in the shade on a summer day.

Married for Christmas. A beautify written story about uncertainty, grief, love and religion all rolled into one. You are truly going to love reading this one.

Loved the ending. Communication! Relatable but sometimes infuriating characters who aren’t honest with themselves or others so often creating hurt and misunderstanding. Sweet overall though :)
