Fantastic!. It's been a long time since I read a book I didn't want to put down - this was was one of them! The story was great, the characters strong and the writing was well done. Definitely recommend!

Because everyone needs a Hero.... I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! I literally couldn't put it down! Laugh, swoon, sigh.. Repeat! Samantha Young has completely outdone herself! Hero is the perfect blend of forbidden love meets tortured souls with a heavy dose of scorching hot sex. When Alexa Holland is introduced to Caine Carraway, she completely blows him away.. Only, its in the absolute worse possible way. Alexa's actions cause her to lose her job and she has no choice but to apologize and ask Caine for help. Caine singlehandedly holds the power to destroy her life, but uses the situation to his advantage and enact a little revenge. When his ploy backfires, their love/hate relationship evolves into more than he's bargained for.

Loved loved loved. Omg I loved Caine and Alexa beautiful story thru all the tragedy that plagued them. 2 souls destined to be together I couldn't put this book down a must read

FANTASTIC!!!!!!! Must read.... I love Samantha Young, she is a brilliant writer. All her books grab you from the beginning. Caine and Lexie's story is wonderful from beginning to end.

Good read. I honestly couldn't put this book down. It kept me interested even though I wanted to smack Lexi sometimes for being too hopeful. I like the plot twist and the characters.

when you're in the mood for a quick read with an office romance with plenty of steam!. I was in the mood for a fun read so I started searching through the books I have and thought I'd pick up Samantha Young's latest book. I am so glad I did! While some of the book made me roll my eyes, I really liked the dynamic and romance between Caine and Lexie. If you like office romances, you should pick this one up. Alexa Holland is the granddaughter of Edward Holland, an heir to a diamond fortune and one of the wealthiest men in Boston. Though no one in the Holland family knows that Alexa is part of this famous family, except for her grandfather. Due to her father's secret affair with another woman that ended in her death, Edward cut him out of the family and in turn never acknowledged Alexa as their own. (Are you following that plotline? Bear with me.) Alexa is successful in her own right as the assistant to a world-famous photographer, but her boss fires her after a photo shoot with Boston's hottest bachelor, Caine Carraway, goes awry. Caine is part of Alexa's father's troubled past. The women who he was having an affair with was Caine's mother and he has always carried a grudge against them. So when Alexa revealed her last name to him, he went off and the whole photoshoot went to the crapper. Caine's outburst gets Alexa fired leaving her begging him to help her get her job back. He does one better. He offers her a job as his personal assistant but the catch is that Caine isn't exactly nice to her. Remember the Holland family grudge? Caine makes her life a living hell, making her all over the city, shopping for his groceries and breaking up with his lady friends. Alexa has had it with his jerky ways. And makes it known. But there's obviously more to Caine's less-than-nice ways. Underneath that resentment is carnal attraction and he finally lets it all out. The two start a secret sex-only affair. While a bit cliche, for some reason the romance part of the book worked for me. Yes, I could write an essay on how big of a jerk Caine was (most) times but I'll save my breath. I liked Caine's broodiness and Alexa's resolve to break through his emotional barriers. Towards the end Caine was a jackhole and I wanted to slap his across the face. But this book was entertaining and I liked it. Like I said earlier, I didn't like Caine and Alexa's shared history and family backstory. Not only was it confusing and hard to follow but it was over-the-top. I could have done without some of the dramatics in the end. Geesh. Check out Hero by Samantha Young when you're in the mood for a quick read with an office romance with plenty of steam! Incredible plot. This was a refreshing book you can’t put down. I felt for Alexa with every step of the way, from the way she proves her worth, the small wounds inflicted by the people who’s opinions she cares about, her unwillingness on giving up in general. This is a story I couldn’t stop reading from beginning to end, with charming and witty dialogue/banter. I immediately reread the book right after finishing it the first time, 10/10 I highly recommend

WOW, - and Unexpected! By Cincy Kid 68!. 1st read by Samantha Young; sooo worth it, and have to pick another one, NOW! No way your standard Luv Story, much more layered and the characters are fun to see develop. Gotta get this book, just WOW. JB

Samantha Young brings all of the good from the stories I know. I’m a fan of Young’s On Dublin Street series, so this was a no-brainer choice. The first in a new romance series, Samantha Young brings all of the good from the stories I know, and makes few missteps along the way. Alexis is a successful PA with her own family issues. Determined to make her own mark in the world to atone for and separate from her father’s mistakes, she is tenacious in her career and personal moves, leaving little room for missteps. But, returning to work from a loss, she comes face to face with Caine, a young man who strikes a chord of potential for her, and gives her a chance to make amends to her father’s wrongs. Caine wants little to do with Alexis or her offers of friendship and reconciliation, he’d rather move on and leave the past alone. And that past includes Alexis. These two have Pullman carloads of baggage between them, only possibly outsized by the attraction that is flaring with big flashing neon lights. Their interactions are wonderful: full of banter as they jostle for supremacy. Cain keeps everything close to the chest: but Alexa’s stubborn determination and ceaseless prodding start to break away at his carefully constructed façade. Alexis is a take no prisoners sort of woman, while not lacking in the sensitivity to recognize wounds: as observant as she is determined, she sees a kindred spirit in Cain, and she just refuses to let him walk away. Poor Cain, he really doesn’t stand a chance with all of the pushing around him: his best friend and an obstreperous meddling woman add to the pressure, and add plenty of humor. Like her earlier stories, Young’s secondary characters are well developed and help to push the plot forward, while providing plenty of interest and depth. I have always enjoyed her introductions of characters, setting and humor that build a complete picture for the reader, even as Alexis and Cain are truly the focus. Some clever twists and a bit of danger gives readers more reasons to fly through the pages: needing to KNOW but not wanting the ride to end. Romance that runs from primal and raw to gentle and sweet, the connection between these two is not to be denied, even as we are struggling through the trials on the way to a happy ending. Emotionally palpable, balanced delicately with ‘aww” and “slap you” moments, just enough angst to not annoy and the development of Cain and Alexis alone and together – this is a winner. Great book. Full of emotion. If you’re into the brooding alpha male this one is for you. It had me hooked from the beginning. A really great love story.

Remarkable. This book was one of the best I've read in a while. A lot of plot twists, dramatic characters and suspense. I recommend this to people that are looking for a good romance to read.

Loved it. Loved this book. Read it as soon as it was out. Read it endlessly till the end non-stop as i couldn't put it down. Samantha Young is a great writer. She did it once again.

Love the humor in the writing. Yes this book has everything you need for a great romance novel but the sense of humor each character has honestly kept me chuckling the whole time. The characters are sarcastic and witty and gave them a lot more personality than characters in other romance novels. This is the second book I’ve read by this author and I can’t wait to keep making my way through the list!
