The #1 Bestseller!
From #1 Bestselling author Morgan Rice comes a sweeping new epic fantasy series: RISE OF THE DRAGONS (KINGS AND SORCERERS—Book 1).
Kyra, 15, dreams of becoming a famed warrior, like her father, even though she is the only girl in a fort of boys. As she struggles to understand her special skills, her mysterious inner power, she realizes she is different than the others. But a secret is being kept from her about her birth and the prophecy surrounding her, leaving her to wonder who she really is.
Just as Kyra is coming of age, the local lord comes to take her away. Her father wants to wed her off to save her. Kyra, though, refuses, and she quests on her own, into a dangerous wood, where she encounters a wounded dragon—and ignites a series of events that will change the kingdom forever.
15 year old Alec, meanwhile, sacrifices for his brother, taking his place in the draft, and is carted off to The Flames, a wall of flames a hundred feet high that wards off the army of Trolls to the east. On the far side of the kingdom, Merk, a mercenary striving to leave behind his dark past, quests through the wood to become a Watcher of the Towers and help guard the Sword of Fire, the paranormal source of the kingdom’s power. But the Trolls want the Sword, too—and they prepare for a massive invasion that could destroy the kingdoms forever.
With its strong atmosphere and complex characters, RISE OF THE DRAGONS is a sweeping, romantic saga of knights and warriors, of kings and lords, of honor and valor, of magic, action, adventure, destiny, sorcery, monsters and dragons. It is a story of love and broken hearts, of deception, of ambition and betrayal. It is fantasy at its finest, inviting us into a world that will live with us forever, one that will appeal to all ages and genders.
Book #2 in KINGS AND SORCERERS is also now available!
“RISE OF THE DRAGONS succeeds—right from the start…. A superior fantasy…It begins, as it should, with one protagonist's struggles and moves neatly into a wider circle of knights, dragons, magic and monsters, and destiny.…All the trappings of high fantasy are here, from soldiers and battles to confrontations with self….A recommended winner for any who enjoy epic fantasy writing fueled by powerful, believable young adult protagonists.”

Read This Book - AmazingFrom the moment I picked up this book (ebook) I was hooked - I didn't stop reading until I had finished it. It is the most well written ebook I have ever come across - and I read all the time... It put me off other books. I couldn't read another while part way through the series. Even though I don't believe in perfection, this book was literally PERFECT! It had just enough build up and storyline to the fighting that the fighting had purpose, a trait often missing in books with violence. It also appealed to the feminist in me - it talks about the struggles of Kyra and makes you sympathise with her. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO EVERYONE I POSSIBLY CAN - Oh, and i you subscribe to Morgan Rice's emailing list you will find out that he has a heart of gold to match the brain that came up with such an amazing story..Score: 5/5
My new favourite, could read again and againI love this, I couldn’t stop reading it once I had started. Only read it if you’re willing to buy the next book, it’s addictive!!! I can’t wait to see where the journey takes us. It launches you into a world of dragons and knights and magic. A good read but too shortWhile I really enjoyed this book I find it too short to be called a book & the following ones jump up in price rapidly for only 250 pages per book which is easily readable in a few hrs. A standard book is generally around 400 pages & would rather have at least this in a book, obviously it's to get more money but spoils my enjoyment so much that that is the only reason I am not getting the rest of the series nor reading any more of her books, unfortunate because the taster bodes well for the rest.Score: 3/5

Hard to put down.Kyra, is a young woman on the brink of self discovery determined to earn the respect of her Father - a once decorated commander, now a humble respected leader of Volis - and his honourable soldiers. She may be a young girl, but her determination alone sets her on a path that is only accelerated by a secret kept from her. Her fate entwined with her dedication to learning how to fight, she must not only persist in her efforts to learn what ordinary girls do not, but prepare for the time in which she will need her well honed skills. Rise of the Dragons lays the foreground of a deepening adventure and a young girls coming of age while navigating an occupied nation within a land on the brink of war. Will the bond she forms save her people? Will the secret reveal her future role in the war to come? Morgan Rice builds a world of mythical creatures in a land threatened by war and occupation on multiple fronts. He weaves threads of the characters lives into a fabric that come to life. Relatable and human, yet foreign and fantastical. You will want the next book in hand to continue the journey..Score: 5/5
Terrible writingThis person is a #1 best seller? The basic story is ok but the writing is atrocious. The same words are used far too many times, such as "finally". Often in consecutive sentences, and there was no buildup to make the use of "finally" mean something. Poor character development and poor storytelling make this seem as though it has been written quickly. If it was a first effort I would not be so harsh but the write has written a number of books and claims to be a number 1 bestseller so I naturally expect much better than this..Score: 1/5

I like the story to allow me insight to a character, not for the writer to tell me just to assumePoorly written, undeveloped characters. Very one dimensional, disjointed storyline, seemed almost forced. There was no teasing the reader to arrive at their own conclusions or story driven development, the writers intention for them is stated and the story proceeds on that assumption.
