Mysterious but warning needed. Spoilers ahead! This book should have come with a cheating warning but I guess that would spoil the story. Honestly I had a really hard time liking or even respecting Houston at all. I also could not grasp this all consuming love he and Rory supposedly had. They only dated for 6 months. He was not honest at all and then left her right after she got an abortion. Then 5 years later he runs into her, is married but isn't really into his wife because he's hopelessly still in live with Rory (eye roll). Now he wants her back. I liked Rory, she went through some heavy stuff and is still a decent, witty person even if she's slightly closed off. She's still in love with Houston but I can not see how. He treated her terribly while they we're dating then just left her without any real excuse. 5 years later he just shows up and expects her to just let it go even though he's married! I was impressed for a while at she spurned all his advance until she doesn't. Things happen and Ben your he says he's leaving his wife, he leaves Rory to deal with he aftermath all alone. Not many times to do hope that an HEA is not given to the main characters, but here I really hope that Rory pulls her head out and leaves Houston in the past where he belongs. Here's hoping for a Rory and Liam HEA! Even though a lot about the characters annoyed me, the mystery kept me on he edge of my seat and it was something I totally didn't see coming. The ending was very vague and I had hopes that it was leading away from Houston but the very last parts lead me to believe I may not get so lucky.

Torn. I kept turning the pages but I don't feel compelled to go onto the next book. I loved Rory and Houston but not Rory and Houston together.

Wow!!. Cassia did it again! I absolutely love her writing style and this storyline is different than her other writings, and I couldn't put this one down. The slow burn and revealing of the characters make this a page turner. Rory....Houston....Liam.... Although this isn't a love triangle book....yet? I'm kind of hoping it could turn out this way. Houston is from her past and the man she loved, broke her heart and left her behind. Liam, a man from her past could be the one who can heal her in a variety of ways... I cannot wait for the next installment!!

Love. Another fantastic book by Cassie Leo! I loved the story of Rory and Houston! There is a lot of heartbreak and a crazy twist but also love! I can't wait for The Way We Break!

Loved. I absolutely loved this book. Although I wasn't happy with the way Houston dealt with his wife, I was completely surprised by the twist. Can't wait for the next one!

A cut above most in the genre. Very well written, with a higher level of character development & emotional complexity than most free books, by far. The characters felt very real, and very human. As another reviewer stated, however, the depth and length of the attachment between the two main characters seemed a little extreme, considering they were only together for 6 months. I felt like this would have been stronger if Houston and Rory had been together longer, and if they were older at this point in the story. In the book, they are only 24 & 27, but their life situations and emotions seem more in line with people in their late 20s or 30s. Worth reading, despite these flaws!

What the.... This book was excellent and very confusing. If you are looking for a sweet story you will NOT find it here. This story is filled with twists and turns, anguish, and turmoil. It’s very well written and addicting but really not what I signed up for when I read the preface. I did not really like any of the characters because they all reminded me of the worsts parts of myself which was why the book was so consuming. The author really takes you on a roller coaster. I’ll need a few weeks before I can read the next one...

The way we fall. By cassia Leo It starts out really slow by the end you want to know what happens but then you find out there is no end yet ugh! It is an intriguing story but to much back story before you get to the good parts! Bookbub

Crippling. This book was intense, it goes back and forth between the main characters and you get a feel for their emotions and how life is in their shoes. I did not put this book down.... It was great twist to a love story. A must read.

This story wrecked me!!!. This story touched me in so many ways and just crushed me! I loved it but it tore me apart on so many levels!!! It will make you frustrated, angry, happy, you will laugh, you will cry but you will feel everything! This book is real, real life with all the ugly and I related in ways I have never related to a story before! Some will hate this book. Some will love it. I am on the love side and cannot wait to pick up The Way We Break!!! Listening to this story adds a new level of amazing to an already great story! I also love audiobooks where there is both a male and female narrator!

Yes. I thoroughly loved all the characters! Even the background characters stood out. This book made me ache for my lost soulmate. This book made me feel pain for the characters. Made me feel happy for them and sad. Well thought out and I can’t wait to read the next book. I loved how it went back and forth between the present and past. Between Houston and Rory. I like how she has ambitions, but also shows that she is like every one else. A hopeless romantic. I hated that Houston cheated on his wife, but this was very realistic.

Read in a day!. Wow how captivating! Such a good read I didn’t want to put it down! Finished in less than 24 hours! Can’t wait to start the second book in the morning!

The Way I Fell!!!. I fell so hard into this book that it scares the crap out of me! I fell so hard I couldn't stop until it was done! And now I probably won't sleep because I'm so heart broke! I'm truly in love with Houston and Rory's story! I can't wait to see how their story ends. This is such a real story that it's hard not to fall. Be careful because where there is love there is always heartbreak too. But it is well worth it! Love heals all wounds and is the circle of life! Now get to reading!

Need more!! Where can I find the sequel??. I loved this book! Couldn't put my iPad down. Please someone tell me where I can find the next book? I need to continue reading.

The way we fall. Hard for me to get why Rory would even be thinking of this guy after he left her after a such a devastating event in her life. Then he goes off and gets married an realizes he is not happy with his wife. Hopefully the story gets better

I fell into an emotional storm from reading this tender and beautifully tragic love story.. Rory and Houston's story told in both POV's. There are two parts to the story. This story is part of a series. This is a story that most can relate to. This is Cassia at her best. Cassia writes beautiful tragic love stories that have your heart aching. Cassia writes a great story about complicated relationships and difficult decisions. Some references of the past are crafted into the story. The past helps clarify decisions being made in the present. I've come full circle in this story. I've reached a point where Rory and Houston once began. Now it's time for the truths to be revealed. The reason for the break-up is finally revealed. This first installment was spend getting the reader acquainted with the history between these two characters. This story is a romance but it is also a story about depression and grief. It's also a story about accepting choices and consequences. It's also a story about people who want to be saved and who need to be saved. Cassia I missed these types of stories from you. I'm glad your back. This is your wheelhouse writing with tenderness and compassion. I look forward to the next installment.

Amazing!. I binge read this first book in four hours. Maybe slow or fast but either was it was so intriguing that I couldn’t set it down.

Pretty Good Book. It was a pretty good book. I only has a hard time with Houston. He seems to cause more problems than anything

First One in a Long Time. I remember reading this one adult romance book I got from somewhere where you trade a toy for a book… I was about 12. In pieces, there’s a cowboy that stumbles on his late biological father’s house. He was greeted by a beautiful long black haired heroine and an arrogant greasy antagonist that threatens the protagonist’s life, the rights of the land, and the woman’s heart - or something of the sort. I’ve never would’ve guessed that the same type of heartthrob thrill would have me remember the feeling I get from reading.

You'll fall in love with both of the characters immediately, the lost souls who each have secrets and fall in love in the worst, yet best way possible. I was rooting for them the whole way through, needing them to come out on top with each other. Give this series a go, you won't be disappointed.

The way we fall by Cassie Leo. The story is about a young couple who had separated and meet again after 5 years . The story addresses infidelity divorce death & suicide and yet is not depressing ,it feels realistic .I would like to continue the series .

Addictive. Couldn't put it down. Love the way Cassia has written this book then/now. I found this book highly addictive. Can't wait for the next one.

Great story. So I've read both books now and this is most certainly the pick of the two. Loved the story and was desperate to find out what had happened. The secret was big enough to not be a disappointment and the story kept me on my toes throughout. Worth a read!

Loved. I loved the characters and the story line. I wish there were more of a conclusion to their story and see that I have to read all three to see the end. Either way, I want to know what happens next...

Skipped ahead to read the letter. There was. Lot of "content" that felt like the same dialogue and inner turmoil over and over. Finally just scrolled through the chapters to the letter to find out what the big secret was. And now I'm done. Don't need to read the rest - doesn't seem much like any of the characters evolved over the course of the story.

Love. This book was well written , brilliant kept me going on every chapter, I hope their is a chance for Houston and Rory.....the way they fell several times I hope they peace back to each other I look forward to the second book... MJD
