Sera final and the Black Cloak. Excellent read! Much impressed by Serafina's character; while confident in her deftly honed skills at staying hidden or catching rats, she nonetheless experiences doubt, insecurity and sincere inhibitions over the lack of family roots, the lack of friendships and the denial of a non-judge mental society of peer human beings. Her journey finds her on a path toward receiving all she was denied in a most theatrical and rewarding way. It's not so much what she does along the way, but what she finds along the way. Lovely book.

Did not like this.... The concept was good... but it lacked character development and cohesion. This seems liked a book for small children with a plot that would be too scary for them.

Absolutely Amazing. I LOVE these books. They are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I hope they come out with more. I really really really really recommend theses books. They have such good detail and it’s like so interesting. Every time I pick it up to read, I can’t put it down. There’s like always an interesting part in the book in every chapter. Fantastic book by Robert Beatty!. Great book! I Started reading the series and I’m now Onto the second. Excellent wordplay! I love the mystery! And I think it’s really cool how The mystery takes place at Biltmore estate. The names are pretty unique and I love the characters and their personalities. An excellent Mystery and Book! This book is amazing and I personally say That you should read!

Safarina and the Black Cloak. A wonderfully woven story with Biltmore as the setting. The story is filled mystery, friendship, and the main character learning about herself. Adults and students will enjoy Serafina's journey as she learns about herself and her part she plays at Biltmore. Dee Elementary Librarian

AMAZING. I love how Serafina is both relatable and somehow unrelatable at the same time. I am a historical fiction nerd and a fantasy nerd and this fulfilled my dreams. The hint of supernatural and some gore added intrigue to the story. All-in-all, this book was great, but I would use your own judgement in reading this. There are some parts that are more scary and intense that the age levels would indicate. I would recommend men’s this to everybody.

Omg. This book is the best thing I've ever read its heart warming, sad, happy, surprising, scary, and romantic. The story of Serafina is mysterious and loving it's a book for everyone and I just couldn't put the book down.

Awesome book. I read this book at my school library for Reading Olympics.First,I thought it was scary and weird by its cover but when I started reading it it tureens out to be surprising good in fact addictive. I was reading it everywhere then when my book report came though, I decided to chose it for the project I wanted to make a game for it. But when I told my mom about the book she thought it was weird in a lot of ways. But to go days later when I turned it in I couldn’t finish the last couple pages I was sad. But to fast forward later in the year, I saw this 6 grader literally look at the title and just throw it back on the shelf. And I just wanted to tell her a lot she was missing out on and how she was wrong on so many levels. But I knew she would think that I was some weird 4th grader girl. But now that I look back on that book I think about how much I liked it and all the places I was at reading it. It’s an awesome book and I would recommend it so this is the reason I gave this book 5 stars.

Page Turner. I really enjoyed this book, but as an adult I do think it would be a little too scary for the intended age group. I describe this book as a "page turner"; full of suspense, I couldn't put it down! I saw other reviews that were critical of the ending, and I agree the ending is a little too "happy-go-lucky" to the point of being slightly unbelievable, but I suppose that aspect is appropriate for the intended age group. Overall a great read!

Serafina and the black cloak. This is a really good book, I love the details that the author puts in it. It had scared me so bad at first but it was a fun scared feeling. I didn’t wanna keep reading because it did scare me but as I did it got better. If you like scary things I really recommend this book. And there are cute parts in it too.

I couldnt stop. I read the whole series in a few weeks and dreaded every moment when I couldnt. It was thrilling and even the simplest things like looking around at the world was intriguing. Serafina learns new things about the world around her and herself. Her character development is amazing. Every chapter had me at the edge of my seat. The story is tied so wonderfully together. I have also read Willa of the Wood and I recommend it very much. I can't wait for more books to come!

I read this book in 3 days because I COULD NOT put it down. All I wanted to do was keep reading and reading to see what would happen next. It was filled with twists and turns that would always surprise me. After I read it I told all my friends and all my family members to get this book. If I could, I would give this 100,000 stars! Original and Entertaining. I truly enjoyed this book. I found it fast paced, well developed, and just plain interesting. I loved that the characters were original. It was quite entertaining reading a book set at the home of George Vanderbilt, Biltmore Estate. I recommend that parents read the book prior to recommending it for their child. I believe that the recommended reading age of 8-12 is too young. I wouldn't want my young child to read this as it is dark. Dark like the Brothers Grimm and the fairy tales that Disney has made into movies over the years, especially the originals. You will enjoy the “research” and when you deem it appropriate for your child they are going to love it too. I received this galley in consideration for an honest review.
