Dark Wild Night by Christina Lauren Book Summary

Book three in the sexy, fun New York Times bestselling Wild Seasons series that began with Sweet Filthy Boy (the Romantic Times Book of the Year) and Dirty Rowdy Thing.

Lola and Oliver like to congratulate themselves on having the good sense not to consummate their drunken Las Vegas marriage. If they’d doubled-down on that mistake, their Just Friends situation might not be half as great as it is now.

…Or so goes the official line.

In reality, Lola’s wanted Oliver since day one—and over time has only fallen harder for his sexy Aussie accent and easygoing ability to take her as she comes. More at home in her studio than in baring herself to people, Lola’s instinctive comfort around Oliver nearly seems too good to be true. So why ruin a good thing?

Even as geek girls fawn over him, Oliver can’t get his mind off what he didn’t do with Lola when he had the chance. He knows what he wants with her now…and it’s far outside the friend zone. When Lola’s graphic novel starts getting national acclaim—and is then fast-tracked for a major motion picture—Oliver steps up to be there for her whenever she needs him. After all, she’s not the kind of girl who likes all that attention, but maybe she’s the kind who’ll eventually like him.

Sometimes seeing what’s right in front of us takes a great leap of faith. And sometimes a dark wild night in Vegas isn’t just the end of a day, but the beginning of a bright new life…

Not my Fave. I've loved all the other Christina Lauren books, but this one fell flat with me. I was mostly annoyed by Lola for the duration of the book and felt it focused too much on her struggles without giving much to Oliver's character. Still a fun read, but not at the top of my CLo list!

Love Oliver Annoyed at Lola. I found myself longing for someone like Oliver. Quiet. Calm. But laser focused when he needs to be and dedicated. I guess you do forget that the girls are a lot younger than the male protagonists but I was very surprised at Lolas emotional immaturity (considering how she’s portrayed in the other books).

Yaaaassss to Loliver!!. Loved, loved, L-O-V-E-D it!!! I have been waiting and waiting for Lola and Oliver's story and it was absolutely wonderful. Christina Lauren did a fantastic job in bringing out the "painfully obvious" truth of Lola and Oliver's romance. I cried, laughed, fist-bumped, and happy cried throughout the entire book. Very good job well done and I highly recommend you read the first two books in the series first, if you haven't. Can't wait for London's story in Wicked Sexy Liar! Please hurry Christina Lauren!!! 😁👏🙌

Young.... I love these characters from the first two books, I couldn’t wait to see how they developed into a relationship. Oliver is everything I hoped he would be and more but Lola was a surprise in her immaturity, relationship wise. I kinda got lost in the whole spiral out of control. Oliver getting hurt….that hurt and I didn’t like it. While this book isn’t my favorite in the series I still love the interaction among the 6 of them, I laughed out loud at the coming out the office to face Harlow and Finn part. I loved Not-Joe even more. I don’t know if I ever want this place for my younger self to hang out to ever end.

I love NERDS!. v"You just sucked my soul out of me." I love humorous romances - stories that never fail to help me escape the tediousness of the day. Christina Lauren deliver with this novel. I also have a very large soft spot for nerds. Lola and Oliver are the best of the best nerds. One is a graphic novelist and the other owns a store specializing in - you guessed it- comic books. Lola and Oliver met, married, divorced and became best friends in the early stories of the Wild Seasons series. Lola is just as you imagined. She is introverted character lost in the world she creates. Suddenly her graphic novel is optioned by Hollywood and she is now noticed. But will her relationship with her best friend stand up to the strain? The novel takes you on a story of missed cues and opportunities. When Lola and Oliver final realize the feelings between them are way more than friendly and for a VERY long time, the pages of the story ignite. Nerds can be sexy. Lola's character had the ability to become grating to me. You know, the whiny, indecisive push-pull girl. Christina Lauren gives her character just enough insecurity to be what we would expect an introvert to be but without dragging the storyline. And Oliver. Wow - he has his own issues. However his protectiveness and desire to watch Lola succeed is swoon worthy. Book 3 could very well be a standalone. This is solely Oliver and Lola's story. But the friends make appearances from the first two books. I dare you not to go back and read them. If you are familiar with Christina Lauren's writing, this delivers. My favorite over all in the series. PS Not Joe needs a story.

Loliver!. These ladies define awesome, witty, hilarious, emotional, and sexy reads. They make reading a blast but also an emotional journey that really means the world. I don't always get to experience that in a book but with Christina Lauren, I'm never disappointed.

Buy, buy, buy this book :). I didn't love this novel at first! I usually do with these authors but this one I didn't. It felt slow at first...but then came to life with a vengeance! Hands down the hottest novel I've read this year! Enjoy!

Eh.... Dark Wild Night was just ok! I really like these characters together but it just wasn't as good as the first two in the Wild series, and definitely not as good as the Beautiful series. Kinda boring at times. At times I even found myself rolling my eyes at their overly elaborate descriptions and ridiculously long run on sentences...Not impressed with this one!

Just okay for me. I was completely bored for the first half of this book. It took that long to get good. As other readers have said, Lora is very immature, needy, and just too much sometimes. It was really hard for me to read this, because it just lacked so much. I had to finish it though because I was so invested, but definitely not a favorite. Toward the end it got really good, which is why I gave it a 3 star rating, but this one didn’t really do it for me.

Love it. Omg totally loved this book. Could really relate to parts of Lola's character; was a really great friendship turned to lovers novel truly awesome read thru all their awkwardness

Not for me. Love this girls but let be honest, bad, bad story, and if this was the best part that you got after three attempts, oh boy...

Story is fine - not amazing - but fix errors please, authors. It’s “taut” not “taught” and there are times the wrong name is mentioned “Oliver” can’t be talking and in the crowd simultaneously. Does no one edit these books? Story is just fine but this author duo has done much much better.

Sexy Lovable Romance. This is one of those cute, adorable romances with likable characters (and plenty of sexy). I enjoyed the whole thing. Lola and Oliver are good people. They are best friends wanting more. Life gets in the way a bit, but they're mature enough to get it right before it goes too far. Dark Wild Night was definitely worth my time, and Oliver is great book boyfriend material.

Dark wild night. Loved it😊😊😊😊

Every story gets better with each series. Such a good read!

Highly recommend this series. Christina Lauren are a powerhouse duo, their writing is entertaining and sexy. I couldn't wait to read Oliver and Lola’s book aka ,Loliver’, these two sensible geeks that didn't get hook up in Vegas. They have watched their best friends Mia and Ansel remain married and watched Harlow and Finn fall in love while they remained best friends. Lola is quiet and reserved, she likes staying in the back ground and doesn't like attention. Her comic book has been been picked up and on its way to be made into a movie. As always she turns to Oliver the only friend who really gets her and is able to talk her down and ground her. Oliver the sexy Aussie owns a comic book store and has a major crush on Lola. His feelings are pushed aside as their friendship has grows to a deeper level, he is afraid to ruin their friendship and doesnt want to district their friendship. Lola feels more for Oliver but is scared if they cross the friend zone and it doesn't work out like it did with their best friends they will destroy their friendship, one they both don't want to loose. Will they cross the friend zone line? I just adored Oliver and Lola together, both of them secretly not so secretly with their friends are lining for one another. Both have the same fears with crossing over the friend zone line, when they both need to take a risk like their friends have. Lola and Oliver have a special connection, they bring a calm over one another and know what the other is feeling. I loved their friendship. The banter with this group of friends is entertaining especially Not Joe.

Not the best... The weakest one of both series, the writing was a bit lacklustre and rambled on, lacking the witty humour of its predecessors. I really wanted to fall in love with both of the characters but it really fell short.
