A view from the other side. I enjoyed this book. It's a new perspective on life as an addict. That's why I read it, for more insight into how our actions effect others. It was honest and raw and will keep me staying in recovery. I hope it helped the writer to get it out.

Dope and Destruction (Addict from the other side). This was an awesome book, I chose to read this book for my project and it was great. I was glued in the whole time reading it. It only took me two nights, the end of the book is very sad but it is how life goes sometimes. Thank you for sharing your personal experience, more people should read I could feel your pain in this book. God Bless

Agreed. A good read. I am not in the same way your sister was, but I too am an addict and I agree with you on most of what you say. But we are not all addicts by choice. Yes some of us have made terrible decisions to try to escape life and by the time we realize, that was the wrong decision, we have become enslaved by it. For some it was a part of their upbringing and may have been introduced by a family member. For some it was forced by other terrible people and had no choice in the matter. And for some our Healthcare system decided they needed to use some form opioid and the patient wasn't in the proper mental state at the time to say no or was so far out of it that they didn't even know it was administered. And probably most of the addicted were really good people before the addiction took control. And it doesn't matter what the addiction is either. Alcohol, drugs, gambling, food, porn, sex, etc. It doesn't matter. The addiction of any kind destroys the addicted and anyone associated with them. Many times even those that have never met the addict become a victim of mental or physical wrong doing of the addict by accident, crime, or rage brought on by their addiction. Addiction doesn't care. It will take any one and every one it can. Your anger is justifiable. All people lose, especially those close to the addict. I hope that many read this and can turn their lives around before they do any harm or more harm to others and themselves. In the end we all pay for addiction and that's not right.
