Worth the read. Absolutely had me tied in knots when I had to put it down!!! Hooked

Love this one. I love this book. I didn't want it to end, but at least it ended on a great note.easily one of my favorites by this author.

Jaded. This is the first book of the series, it starts the pace and lays the foundation for the other two books!!!! Ali Parker is an amazing writer!!!!

Nice romantic tale. This is the story of heartbreak and fate. It is a very nice tale of romance. The author writes about each character very carefully and thought out out. Kari and her friends are hilarious but it shows their friendship is truly strong. Kari goes through a lot but eventually gets her HEA. Jake has had a very rough past and finds it hard to open up. Once he allows himself to the devil come knocking. This book was worth the read, can’t wait to read the next installment. ~there are no hot sex scenes in this book~

Jaded. I enjoyed the characters, they were smart and had good dialogue. I enjoyed that it wasn't short & the relationship between the characters was well developed. I could feel the chemistry between the two. I'm definitely curious to see if the authors other books are just as good.

Jaded. I loved reading this book! It was so, descriptive that I felt like I was there plus, I was also able to see the characters clearly. I enjoyed the flirting and the entertaining humor. But, I could tell the sensitive pain and joy! The only problem I had with this book was when I wasn't reading it my mind just kept wondering what was going to happen next!

Get there faster!. This book was way too slow paced for my liking. It seemed to just drag and drag. If you like steamy romance novels, this isn't for you. If you like the super cheesy, over the top romantic, romance novels..you'll love it. Wasn't my cup of tea.

Only one thing.. Cute book, interesting story. The characters are well written enough to care about. I definitely enjoyed the book. However. The setting is in Maine and the the author kept talking about the sun setting over the ocean. Call me picky but the misrepresentation of the suns correct path was distracting and frustrating to me. Perhaps I misread, multiple times. Either way. Definitely a cute little read. I would recommend. Would have been 5 star if the sun traveled east to west in the book!

Just ok. It's a bit long winded but an ok book. The dialogue is great but if you like sexy books it's not for you.

Snooze. This is the Hallmark movie you put on for background noise but don’t actually pay attention to while doing something else.

Waggling?. Loved the characters and story line, but the waggling of eyebrows could have been a class at Drake's gym. I also found several editing mistakes...nothing major...but it had me waggling my eye brows...just kidding...but a little variety works. A detailed reader will pick up on the repetition. However, I will be reading about Christmas in Texas.

3 ⭐️ for average rating.. Didn’t love it, didn’t hate it. It’s not memorable, if I ever have to remove downloads to make space, this book would be gone. I was sweet, sometimes to sweet. No laugh out loud moments but some funny bits here and there. Started off with promise but then fizzled. At the same time, I did want to complete it. I didn’t feel compelled to do so, but it was a read that I was able to walk away from.

Love the author but.... no. This book missed the mark big time. I have thoroughly annoyed many of her other books but this one was not in line with her other books. I almost never leave reviews and read a ton but honestly had to say- skip it! I'm sorry :(

Jaded iBooks version by Ali Parker. HOT! I want MORE!! Jake and Kari start falling for each other, both have been hurt by the exes in their past relationships. Now after a short week of bumping into each other things start to Really heat up! Lisa still wants Kari's brother Marc who came down for a few days to help the girls' move from NY to Maine. Will Marc be waiting? Sicily thinks Jake's friend Drake is a self centered jerk!,but does Drake have feelings for Sicily?

Jaded Lovers. I absolutely loved this story! The author jumped right in & had me begging for more. It was heartbreak, love, and friendship all wrapped up into one. It is a typical situation, two individuals both harboring ugly pasts & attempting to move on in their personal lives. We all know these characters in real life, if we haven't already been them! Finding love after heartbreak, that's the storyline and Parker described it beautifully!

Jaded. Always great to see two deserving people get a love they deserve after the misery they have suffered. Great story.

Too Jaded to Love?. This is the book about Kari Martin and her snake of a fiance. She ends up calling off the wedding after finding him screwing a stranger in a bar. She then decides she needs a change of pace and plans to move out of New York. Her best friends are moving to Bar Harbor, Maine. She thinks it best to get a change of pace and scenery. Her fiance is always calling her and figures she will give in and get back together with him. Kari has had enough and gives notice to her job. Right from the start she is attracted to Jake, the hometown hero. She meets him her first night in town at the supermarket. He helps her choose wine for dinner. Jake used to live in Texas. He was hurt in the past by a woman he had loved his whole life. He is completely attracted to Kari - but afraid to try. He knows he could get close to Kari, he already feels something for her. They keep "bumping into one another" all over town. It is a small town, and their paths seem to cross a lot. She has to interview him as part of her first assignment for her new job. Kari is all that Jake could ever want. He is crazy attracted to her. His past keeps getting in the way and he is not sure what to do. Can he take a chance? Dare he? He is starting to feel something for her. The sparks fly and the air sizzles when they are in the same room. This is a story of love, fate and dealing with the hurt of the past. I liked the character development. I felt the story was an honest progression for these two and I loved it!

Jaded. Congrats to Ali she did it again!! I loved this story, so real,heartache I cried! The only thing it was to short! Kudos Ali!!;)

Jaded. This book starts out with a bang and only gets better as the story goes on. Read this series of books you wont be sorry.

Jaded. Loved it! Sweet story between "real life" types... Relatable.. But there's definitely "spice" in the pages! Loved how it wasn't "someone" sabotaging the relationship - just their own scars from the past! You won't regret reading it!

So much potential. I almost gave up on this book. A few times. The entire beginning was way too drawn out. The first 7 or 8 chapters could have easily been done in a simple prologue with a lot of the mundane details cut out. Then more time could have been devoted to devoting Kari and Jake's relationship. Also the writing was sometimes good and sometimes weird. Random metaphors that didn't work. I wish I could remember the one that really threw me off because it was doozy. But again, it came down to development. Too much development in some areas, not enough in others. But about midway through, I did start to care and feel for the characters. I was glad I stuck with the story. However, if the writing continues like this, I do not see myself picking up later books in the series. *****SPOILER ALERT****** To expand on my above complaint. I really wish chapter one were the prologue. Skip all the New York crap (especially since the lifestyle didn't feel believable from what I know of life in NYC--says this Texan, lol). The New York stuff was superfluous at best and added nothing to the story. Instead, I wish she had just skipped straight to the Maine stuff then spent more time letting Kari and jake get to know one another. I also felt there should have been some inner monologue about kari and how she felt about moving on from frank so fast. We learn early on how uneasy she felt about the relationship, but for her to jump into the next one without addressing her moving on seemed odd. Oh well. It was free. Worth the read but skim the first 9 chapters or so.

Wow!!!. I just couldn't put this book down! I wish it was longer. Can't wait to read about the others!

Good Book. Jaded is a cute love story book with a good storyline. I love the characters in the book, especially the three friends. The book stats out slow but it gets better later on. Overall, it is a good read!!

Jaded. So thrilling and so true to its form. What happened between the characters is exactly what happens between real people in life where they shut down after the bad stuff happens to them and unfortunately don't meet their love ones but the story between these two are what makes the story what's real

Loved This Book! Need Directions to Maine Please!. This book makes me want to move to Maine and find my own Jake! How does Kari cope with seeing her fiance doing something wrong? She moves with her best friends from NYC to Maine, for a fresh start. A few years prior, Jake had walked in on something that he wishes would burn from his memories. He coped by moving from his family and friends in Texas to Maine. Both jaded still, will they take a chance? Especially when trust & confidence is an issue for both? This book is a standalone! However, there are two other books, which the characters are in. All three are standalone's! I have only read this one so far, but I'm going to get the second book now!

food writing, to slow. the authors dialogue is great and i like the dynamic between the three friends, but far to slow paced. to much focus placed on the friends and maybe one day ill finish reading the entire story, but not today. good story but not if you are looking for a fast paced romance story line

Great promise but doesn't deliver completely. Has a lot of promise and could've been great but too much surface not enough depth. Loved the basketball away game scenes and Jake racing back from the funeral for Kari, but Kari never explored her relationship with Frank and why it fell apart, and never resolved the issues with her dad. A lot of misspellings and grammar issues and the reference to the waiter as the "Asian boy" was offensive, please get a proofreader!

Jaded. 2 ⭐️ because it isn’t the worst book I’ve read. Way too much emphasis on the three moving out of state only to debate the color of the walls of their new home. Lisa is a piece of work that someone needs to finish. Btw, she added nothing positive to this book. Not cute,silly,funny,sexy or charming. A hot mess in the worst sort of way. And to think, she eventually gets her on story....🤔

Jaded. This book is too long and boring. The storyline just drags on and on. I skipped most pages because they weren't worth reading. Not interested in the other books in this series.

Loved this book. A wonderful second chance at love. It just felt a little incomplete. I felt Jake and Kari's story was not finished. Too much time spent on Kari's despair and not enough on there growing relationship. Once they got together, it seemed there was a rush to end the story. Her girlfriends are the best. You will love them. Enjoy!

Jaded. Does a broken heart heal? Can a Jaded person find love again? The answer is yes! Kari and Jack try to fight the magnetic pull that they have for one another but when you find your soulmate, why fight! Great book by a great author!

Great book. This book was awesome. I loved the characters and couldn't put the book down. It had the perfect mix of love, romance and sexiness. I can't wait to read more of her books!!!

Great book!. This was the first book I've read from Ali Parker, and it definitely kept me coming back for more. It was little sweeter than some of her other books which is nice to have a variety, but some parts were still hot! Great, easy read.

Great read. I really enjoyed this book. Loved that both characters were prepared to deal with past heartbreak to get together. They have great chemistry and you really hope things work out. Amusing support characters added a good level of humour.

Would recommend. I loved this story. I felt the emotions with Kari as we went through the book and was gutted for her when a series of misunderstandings threatened to get in the couple's way. Good supporting cast from Sicily and Drake. A good story, which yes was a little predictable at times, but it was an easy read.

Easy read. This book is an easy read with a predictable story. Things do go a bit slow but I suppose at least you know what's going to happen. The annoying thing for me was the way Kari sees love. She's basically looking for someone to get married to and have kids with because it's that stage in her life. And she was going to get married to the ex because after so long together what else you would do?! Plus they have the rest of their lives to get to know each other and sort things out... Sure, that's a great way to start a marriage. It just shows she has the completely wrong idea and no wonder she falls in love with the next handsome guy that comes along. The rest of the story was fine but I couldn't get over her way of thinking and unfortunately it annoyed me right till the end as there were snippets of her thoughts dropped in that reminded you she just wanted to get on with what was "supposed to happen" in life.

Fab love story. Love a good romance and this one certainly didn't disappoint, I couldn't put it down. Great storyline and loved the characters, can't wait to read the rest of the series and hear what the other girls get up to

Ok. Was a bit predictable and knew exactly what was going to happen at the end but overall was ok

*rolls my eyes*. This is one of the most frustrating books I've ever read! The story starts off ok, but sooo predictable and quite unrealistic. *spoiler* Her fiancé cheats on her then she meets her dream man two weeks later, and in the matter of a few days, they both think they love each other???? It's also weird how everyone in the story is telling her it's 'fate' that they get together - after meeting the heartthrob only twice, major *rollllingggg my eyesssss moment* I couldn't even finish the book to be honest. Maybe I'll come back to it if I'm really bored. I dunno. Also, the voice of the story is usually Kari, but some random times it's the heartthrob jake, however, when it is jake it still sounds like it's Kari *confused face*. Lastly, way too much unnecessary use of 'jaded'.

Good storyline. This book has a nice storyline but unfortunately I found the book overly descriptive and couldn't fully get into the book. I gave 3 stars because I think this was a good start to a story and hope the next book has more umph!

A nice story. A "nice" story, though I don't get all the references to "not my type" - who stays with someone for years and years, plans to marry them but then goes on about "not my type". I get a cheater may not be your type.....

Jaded - A feel good Romance. Really liked Kari and her friends very much - her mum too. Jake was such a good match for Kari especially after the old boyfriend. Looking forward to reading more about Kari's interesting girlfriends.

Sweet & Sexy xx. Now, even though this book wasn't full of erotic pleasure it was pretty much a love at first sight kind of book. A beautiful love story that had me turning the pages & unable to stop reading the book until the very end :)) Kari Martin, a beautiful, sweet & gorgeous person inside & out just had her heart shattered the night before her weeding in the WORST possible way by a guy who really wasn't her type but she loved anyway. She decides to move to Maine with her 2 best friends for a fresh start. On her first night in her new town she meets a guy who basically exceeds her expectations & is her type in every way possible... Jake has had his heart ripped out by his first love after years of being together... All he wants is to move on but he's finding it quite hard when his ex still consumes him...(although I'm pretty sure all the pics of her & him together aren't really helping him). He meets Kari & immediately knows she's trouble for his damaged heart but cannot seem to get her out of his head... As jaded as they both might be, fate has a way of changing them for the better... A great book by Ali Parker of true love & complete faith in one another which was written quite beautifully & really makes you dream of finding your very own true love :)) I cannot wait to read the next 2 books in the series after getting to know the other characters

He flies home to Texas for a few days when his ex's mother dies and loses his phone, which makes Kari freak out. He could have just called the newspaper to get her number and then rung her on another phone, but the author wasn't able to think up a better story-line.
